There are 2 providers I certainly don’t want to antagonise: my medical practitioner and my dentist. But today I have to risk appealing to Cape Dentures publicly. I’m desperate to have 2 crowns replaced in order to have a social life again. My appeals via email and telephone have been ignored thus my turning to HelloPeter. The professional body for health and dental practitioners would have been too drastic (?) I must be the worst adverti*****t for Cape Dentures despite the hundreds of thousands paid to them.
I have been through the Small Claims Court to claim for damages to my unit at Villa Celeste - subsequently sold (at a loss). Since the commissioner found that Trafalgar was the wrong respondent it was requested by the former to let me have the correct details of the Villa Celeste Body Corporate/ Trustees. I have been trying for months to receive such. Surely Trafalgar serves the interests of owners as much as those of the body corporates? I know that I am not an owner anymore but my request would not prejudice anyone if justice is the aim? Surely Trafalgar has an immaculate reputation to maintain? It seems so unnecessary to take redress through the POPIA Act.
I submitted my tax returns for 2021/22 as is expected of good citizens. The returns included property renovations, selling of the property as well as medical costs. The total costs were close to R150 000. From a pensioner with an income of R8000.00 per month. Surely SARS should have refunded me a portion? I’ve paid my taxes my entire life - I’m 75 years old- and pay for my own security, health, education etc. I don’t mind as I appreciate the challenges of a developing country but I too deserve development & when a SARS refund is due it must be paid. Thank you Mr Kieswetter. You’re a hero amongst less hero-like figures.
Property Management of Cape Town City ejected Radio Kaap se Punt from our studios in favour of a media/ entertainment company called RAW. We left with dignity and we were allowed to take our electronic equipment valued at R1.5m. But RAW needed the soundproofing, dropped ceilings and soundproof doors. We gave in and said they could keep everything except the soundproof doors which we needed for another project. Three years later and we are still waiting for the return of our doors. Is morality disappearing in our great city and succeeded by youth entitlement?
I was a vitality member with Virgin Active in Constantia for many years. During Covid the gym was closed but I continued paying until I ceased my Vitality membership. Without informing me of the new unauthorised debit order I continued paying for a few months, resigned and eventually instructed my bank to cancel the debit order. Virgin Active simply accumulated arrears as per the unauthorised debit order and based on the small print in the contract. They refused to shape their system as per the COVID regulations over which I certainly had no control. They have no fairness nor an understanding of compassion. It is so disturbing to experience such brutal attitudes by businesses in the 21st century.
My previous contract ended on 30 June 2024. Deductions were made via debit order. I just noticed on my bank statement that a deduction was made end July. This ostensibly was for a free gift! I would not have accepted ‘an ambassadors free gift’ if I had to pay for it. I feel done in and will have my bank reverse the deduction. What a sad end to a great relationship over many years.
Legalwise promised to explain to me why they withdrew from my High Court case after 12 years. Why didn’t they speak for me when I needed them? Why did they grant me platinum membership and not match it with platinum service? I’m dumbfounded that the relevant Ombud sided with Legalwise in potential negligence. My question remains: Why? Thanks for the anticipated explanation.

I was relieved to have an expert voice to speak for me when I joined Legalwise as a platinum member in 1996. I want them to please explain to me why they withdrew from my R1m high court case after 12 years. And why they reneged on their promise to refund me the Legalwise portion of the fees of the private lawyers I had paid to obtain summons. Thank you
I was a member of Legalwise from 1996. I resigned in 2022 after they did NOTHING to execute a high court summons that I obtained at my own cost through private attorneys. Legalwise was not serious about my case and I think their attorneys did not have the competence and confidence to advance my case. They **** to me to my emailed Inquiries. They preferred to reply over the phone so no record found be left. They managed 2 cases for me: the one I withdrew and the second one they dragged and delayed from 2010 until their attorneys withdrew, confirming my belief that they were not up for the job. In my experience they are a waste of money and time and can easily be confused and or compared with a ****.
