Checkers has been advertising match day special for the week. Today I drove 25km to my nearest Checkers (Checkers Shelly Beach) to buy the special - steakhouse t-bone for R149 / KG. When I got to the Butchery section I couldn't find the special. I asked a lady packing the shelves for assistance. She was unsure but made the effort to call the butcher who could assist me. He advised that this special is only available at Chechers Hyper. He offered me the fresh T-bones @ R149 per KG. I thanked him and apologized for misunderstanding the advert. Now I sit on my couch in front of the TV and see the advert on TV - steakhouse t-bone for R149 / KG, available at Chechers, Checkers Hyper and Checkers 60/60. So once again I have been ********** by Checkers, advertising items that are "not available". I specifically went to Checkers for the special. If not for that, I would have gone to Pick n Pay. Shame on you Checkers! You are becoming more and more known for lies and poor quality products!
Beautiful property, with lots to do, but also tranquility, to recharge the soul. Staff are all amazing and super willing.
Today, Thursday 11/11 I bought R619.35 value of meat, for my mom's birthday party on Saturday. I also bought pork neck to the value of R108.99 for our dinner tonight. (Today is my mom's birthday) I also bought R417.66 worth of veg and condiments for dinner tonight and the party on Saturday. When I got home, I opened the pork neck to prepare it for dinner and immediately noticed a strange sour smell when I took the first layer of cling wrap plastic off. I hoped that I was imaging it and cut the vacuum sealed bag open. The smell was horrible and I immediately knew that the meat was rotten. It is frustrating that there is no best by or sell by date on the packaging. The same applies to the wors that I purchased for Saturday, so who knows if this will be OK. I wanted to buy some cold meats for my guests for Sunday lunch before they leave for home, but noticed that this packaging also didn't have a best by or sell by date. Hence, knowing that I was only going to purchase today (Thursday 11/11) , but planned to use on Sunday (14/11), I thought against it. Just as well! I have plans for tomorrow to clean my house, prepare my sides and bake the cake for my mom's party on Saturday, but now, I have to drive back to the Shelly Beach store tomorrow (22km from my home) to exchange products and fight with staff. What's even more frustrating is that this is not the first time that I have had an issue with this store... if you check my profile, you will see a complaint some years back about fish that was incorrectly advertised as a specified fish cutlet, but upon opening the packaging, I immediately saw that this was incorrectly marked with a cheaper fish cutlet packaged. The Manger at the time, immediately apologized, saying that he saw the incorrectly marked products in the freezer and removed this. But this was only after my complaint, so who knows how many false fish packafes were sold at the time, at premium price..... I also remind FLM, that it is against the consumer act to sell products without a packed on, best before or sell by date. But, as a standard consumer, this should not be my responsibility and, FLM as a large chain store in SA should surely know this. I wonder what will come of this complaint, not so much the rotten meat, but the not marked sell by date products.....

On Wednesday 28/06/2017 I was booked to fly from Dbn to PE at 09:50 to arrive 11:10 on flight SA1336.

At about 09:30, they advised that the flight was delayed to 10:30 due to the inbound flight being late. 10:30 came and went and no flight arrived and we were not given any further information. The passenagers waiting at the boarding gates, started asking the ground staff for information as we were not sure what was going on. We were then told that there is a maintenance problem with the plane and they were waiting to hear if it was going to be repaired or if they were going to send another aircraft. At 11:30 we were told that the 09:50 flight was cancelled and we could get our tickets refunded or we could catch the afternoon flight due to depart at 13:35. I had a AGM to attend on 29/06/2017 and had to visit three properties between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon before the AGM. I had just driven from Port Shepstone (200km one way). If I opted to cancel my flight, I would have to drive all the way back only to have to drive back to the airport on Thursday again to ensure I make the AGM on 29/06/2017.

I was therefore forced to opt for the afternoon flight.

This flight was also delayed - for who knows what reason and we only ended up taking off at about 14:20 to land in PE at 15:30. I now had to drive through to Sedgefield - woman alone on a road that I was not familar with. Ended up arriving at 19:15

On Friday 30/06/2017 I was booked to fly from PEto DBN at 11:45 to arrive 13:00 on flight SA1337.

We boarded the plane and I was releaved to see that the flight appeared to be on time.

Once the aircraft doors were closed, the captain politely announced "For those of you who have not heard, we are doing a quick stop over in East Lodon to pick up stranded passengers". I nearly had a heart attack! At no point had any of the ground staff mentioned this to me. Fair enough, I did check myself in on line and printed my own boarding pass, but I passed through security and the boarding gates and nobody said a word to me!? How is this possible!? My phone was off and I could not let my family who are always worried about me when I travel, know that I would be delayed.

Once we landed in East London and the doors were opened while we waited for the "stranded passengers" I quickly alerted my husband that I would be arriving much later than anticipated and he must not worry about me as I would arrive home much later. (I still had to drive back to Port Shepstone from King Shaka).

Upon arrival at King Shaka, my bag (which I had handed in at the bottom of the stairs when I boarded the plane in PE) was no where to be found. The staff advised that I should go to baggage claim. When I handed my bag in at PE, there was no ticket put on my bag (like they normally do - and you get the torn half) and I specifically asked the male staff member, who replied "don't worry".

My bag was evention found at baggage claim.

My complaints are therefore as follows:

1. I believe that in both instances, SAA did not have a full flight and to save on costs, they promptly combined flights, regardless of passengers plans and work commitments. In both instances, we ended up combining two flights into one plane and in both instances, there were only 2 seats vacant.

2. Why was no plane sent to fetch me when I was "stranded" at Durban airport on Wednesday for 4 1/2 hours? I had to wait for the afternoon flight.

3. How can changes to a flight be made without first consulting with the passengers? What about plans and travel arrangements already made? (Specifically refering to the PE to DBN flight that suddenly became a stop over flight). I particularly book non stop flight for personal preference, but then I am forced to do a stop in East London.

4. What about your security protocol. The airports are forever announcing that unidentified bags will be disposed of. My bag was not labled and there was no way that I could be contacted if my bag did go missing. My bag also had valuables in, including my GPS and tablet, due to the fact that I knew it would be with me all the time. I bet you that I would not be compensated or reimbursed if something went missing from my bag.......

SAA will not see me on their flights again. I am a Regional Manager and travel extensivley with tight timelines. I can not loose time sitting at airports for extended periods picking my nose while SAA sort out their ****!

To date, I have not even received an apology for any inconvenience caused. Shows you where SAA's priority lies.

I bought a Christmas gift for my husband. Much to our disappointment the watch did not work. I notified Matt Arend in writing of this... further disappointment... no response.
I eventually phoned their offices on Friday 18/01 to enquire about my mail. Spoke to Filiep who said, \oh we do have this in stock
On Saturday 24/10/2015 I went to the Food Lovers Market in South Coast Mall, Shelly Beach. I saw frozen fish fillets marked as Dorado Fillets at R79.99 per killogram & bought a pack for my Sunday lunch.
Upon defrosting, I was horrified to find hake fillets. And not very fresh hake fillets I might add. If I had known that this is hake, I would not have bought this. These large supermarket chains think they can get away with murder by selling incorrectly marked items at inflatted prices to the customer who they think are too uneducated to know better.
I am sick & tired of these supermarkets that steal our hard earned cash because we are forced to support them!
30/01/2010 signed up for 500m package. 2012 Vodacom phoned me to advise I upgrade to 1gig contract for R99/m. Never gone over data bundle limit as I only use my laptop for personal e-mails. Oct 2014 I took my laptop to Telepage in P/Shepstone for upgrades that were needed. In Nov 2014 got data account (R795.36). In December 2014 got another data account (R423.90) & decided to query. On 04/01/2015 phoned Vodacom. I was told that there was no limit on my account (although this was included in my original data account in Jan2010 ??) & that I had exceeded my bundle & was charged @ R2/meg out of bundle costs. I asked that my limit be reinstated with immediate effect. I was not informed that I had already reached my limit for Jan 2015 (on 04/01/2015???) I got a sms on my cell number linked to this account informing of soft block. Phoned Vodacom again & was told \our accounts closed early in Dec"??? In Jan 2015 I got another expensive account R785.43. Went to Telepage & was told they don't know what I download & that my account is \""open\"". In Feb2015 got another data account of R818.10. On 15/01 phoned Vodacom again. Told account terminated on 02/02 & was now on PAYG?"""
