The infotainment screen in my wife's Volvo V40 suddenly went blank, and, based on references seen, I took it to Pro Nordic Motors in Malboro for them to determine the cause thereof. After spending some time checking connections, etc. they regretfully advised us that it was a Volvo software problem, not something they could fix as yet. Amazingly, they refused to charge me for the time & effort spent on the car! This act of kindness has gained them a customer for life.
I inadvertently snapped one of the cables connected to the tent's interior winch by failing to see that one of the 4 latches on my Bundutop rooftop tent (purchased about 2 years ago from Bundutec in Benoni ) had not been properly disconnected when I activated the electric switch to lift the roof of the tent. This also ripped the offending latch off the body of the tent. To my amazement this was all repaired by Deejay Rautenbach of Bundutec (ph. 063 872 7667) free of charge! Absolutely superior service (and one very happy customer)!
I had to have the burst hot water pipe from my geezer to my hot tap replaced urgently. This was done by Geezers Plumbing (headed up by Alistair) efficiently, courteously, speedily., and professionally. I was suitably impressed, and thought it worth mentioning.
My Pajero (CW17NX GP) went in for a relatively minor panelbeating job at Grorap Autobody in Northriding (tail light smashed and back door & body dented). Not only did they do an excellent job, but they went the extra mile and polished the car too! And they were spot on the promised date of delivery, keeping me informed all the way.
On 15th June we went to Reservation House in Cresta to book 3 units at Mokala Reserve. We were helped by Ricardo Kearns, who went out of his way to assist us, even phoning the other members of our party to get their details. Service like we've received from Resevation House, Cresta (twice now) is seldom seen these days. Much appreciated!
I had my wheels balanced by Tiger Wheel & Tyres in Shelly Beach, KZN just before leaving to return home to Johannesburg. The car shuddered the whole way back, indicating that there was a problem with the balancing. I took my car in to Tiger Wheel & Tyres, Rivonia today. Without even querying my assertion that the Shelly Beach balancing seemed to be defective, or even the fact that I even went to Tiger Wheel & Tyres in Shelly Beach, the Rivonia branch re-balanced my wheels free of charge! What service!
