I previously posted a complaint that DStv have been overcharging me since December on a contract for an Ultra Decoder. To my delight I heard back from them on 19th June. Andile informed me that my troubles are over and my account will be rectified. I couldn't believe my luck. Unfortunately nothing has happened and he appears to have disappeared like all the other call centre operatives. How on earth do you solve a problem with this company?
At the end of last year I was offered a deal on a new Ultra Decoder for R999 per month over two years. At first I was charged correctly then it went up to R1198 per month. I phoned in and was told that the extra amount was for Netflix. I told them I already paid for Netflix privately and proved it by sending in a copy of my credit card statement. Netflix allowed me to watch it on 2 tv's. They dropped the charge and then upped it again. This happens every month. Last month Siyahluma from the call centre told me that the minute you press the Netflix button on your remote you are charged. The charge was reduced and I told her I would only watch Netflix on the other TV by down streaming. One week later the charge is back up to R1198 without me ever having touched their remote. I have requested a copy of the sales pitch as none of this was pointed out to me. I believe they are not being truthful with their sales pitch but can't get beyond the call centre. Help??
I was contacted in November when my two year contract expired and offered an Ultra package deal. I was under the impression that by signing a two year contract it would include Netflix, Showmax, Disney as well as installation. When I tried to give my Explorer decoder away I was told I owed R199 for Netflix as it was not included in my package. I paid this amount and changed ownership of my decoder. I told DSTV in Wynberg Cape Town that I was not prepared to pay R999,00 per month for two years and an extra R199 for Netflix and asked them to cancel Netflix. I was told that if I or one of my grandchildren pressed the Netflix button on my remote by mistake I would immediately be charged R199,00. This is unacceptable as I never signed or agreed to paying an additional amount for Netflix or Disney. Surely if you are being charged extra there must be some way of agreeing to this extra charge? The Ultra decoder I was given has already had to be changed as it didn't work and the new one keeps losing signal due to bad weather. I was told I could get a copy of my telephone conversation if I could tell them exactly when DSTV made me the offer. Unfortunately I can't find it on my cell phone. Thoroughly fed up that I was taken in by a very misleading sales pitch.
I cannot get through to their call centre for a hospital authorisation. I have tried 3 times held on for 15 minutes on my cell phone and the music keeps on playing. Surely there is a better way to get a hospital authorisation?
I have an Absa Prosperity account which should carry no charges. In this month's statement I am charged Digital Tran Fees of R20.00. They are also charging me to withdraw money.
I changed to Discovery Insure about 3 years ago and had to lodge my first claim for a geyser yesterday. The claim process is so easy and quick. I was truly impressed by the company and the service given by Thembi Mahlangu.
Took advantage of Woolworths up to 50% off sale and found out some very interesting facts. Firstly, the price in red on the item does not include vat of 15%. Secondly, very few items are actually 50% off but as they are all mixed up its difficult to tell which items carry 50% off. Thanks Woolworths for the extra 10% off for Woolworths reward card holders. However once the VAT of 15% is added you realise that you have been duped.
This company recently installed aluminium doors and windows for me. Their price was highly competitive and they delivered a high standard of work. They are very busy but it is worth the wait as the final product is very good. John and Ashley are also very pleasant and willing to go the extra mile.
Had a slow leaking puncture and my mechanic had told me I would need new tyres this year. When I arrived at Pitstop they found nails in two tyres so I decided to replace all of the tyres As it was going to take 1 1/2 hours they offered to drop and fetch me from the beach so I could have breakfast. They also saw a lot of beach sand in the car and vacuumed it Really friendly, caring service
Mica Hardware in Valyland helped me, late in the afternoon, by replacing a perished tube and regulator on my DeLonghi gas heater. I was so grateful to Marvin who did such a professional job with a friendly smile. If they hadn't helped me I would have gone home to a very cold house.
