I have been using this hosting company for a year, after moving from a Web host that did not support DotNet Core. They're so low - I wish to pay more. Their response to customer tickets is very fast. I have logged many support tickets, and their support team has consistently resolved them. I can't wait for when they have GPU machines as well so I can crunch data on their good services.
Two years ago, I missed two mortgage payments of R14,500 each. To ensure this never happened again, I approached FNB (through my attorneys at the time) to arrange for direct deposits. fnb had sanistically prioritised unsecured loans before the mortgage deduction, which contributed to the shortfall. FNB responded by imposing an adjusted repayment amount of R30,000 per month, an amount I believe was unreasonable. To meet this obligation, I had to leave a stable job of five years in search of a higher income. In 2025, I paid R30,000 per month for 12 consecutive months as agreed. In December 2025, I further paid in advance to cover instalments up to May 2026. My account has therefore been fully up to date - and in fact ahead - since then. However, over the past 12 months, FNB has deducted more than R100,000 from my mortgage account for legal fees. These are for attorneys I have never engaged with or spoken to directly. Despite repeated queries, these fees have not been clearly explained. In July, despite my account being up to date and subject to a payment agreement, FNB proceeded to take the matter to the High Court. The bank’s legal representative appeared unaware of my payment status and existing agreement. The matter was not opposed and was ultimately dismissed by the High Court, with fnb instructed to not bring the matter before the court for the next 6 months at least (from the unnceccesity of the court appearance) Despite this dismissal, the Randburg Sheriff has repeatedly visited my home with documents threatening auction proceedings, intimidating my family in my absence. This has caused significant distress and feels like harassment from both fnb and the captured sherif (sales@sheriffrandburgsw.com) - the email says it all. For context: My outstanding mortgage balance is under R1.6 million. In the past year alone, I have paid approximately R450,000 toward the 5 year old bond (all for missing 2 instalments that were payed up by July 2025 before the high court). fnb literally tried to deceive the high court into auctioning a property that was ahead with payments - the high court of the country. What a mockery of the courts. I am currently ahead on payments due to advance installments made in December 2025. Despite this, thousands of rand continue to be deducted monthly as unexplained legal fees (this year even - on a morgage that is ahead by almost half a year in payments) Before making the advance payment in December, I contacted FNB and was assured that my mortgage was up to date. I was informed that there were still pending legal fees, but no clear explanation was provided. Additionally, for the past three years, FNB has repeatedly marketed “quick sell” or assisted-sale schemes to me. Even during the High Court appearance, their legal representative emphasised that I have significant equity and could sell the property for a good price - he kept repeating that over and over like an obsessive agenda he is getting a good commission from, rather than addressing the payment agreement already in place. This ongoing situation, particularly the unexplained legal deductions and continued legal pressure despite an up-to-date account, is making property ownership unaffordable and emotionally exhausting (I have not rested or smiled properly for over a year now) If other property owners, particularly black homeowners, have experienced similar treatment, I invite you to share your experiences. I would also appreciate informed advice on how best to address this matter and hold the bank accountable. Any other race as well, I am mentioning black because of the sinister and predatory record fnb has with black people typically. (search: "fnb accusations against black people" and see for yourself)
My experience with Alexander Forbes has been extremely disappointing. I’ve now submitted my withdrawal forms more times than the checkboxes, and spoken to twice as many people as there are checkboxes on the form - yet my request is still not resolved because every time this checkbox was ticked or that one was left out. I’ve spoken to Sibahle Buthelezi, Sbonga, Faith Mkhize, Sebeka, Saul Mhlongo, Xolani Cisana, Mpho Mutluli, Thuli, Amanda, Lerato, Kewagile, and Zolani Ngcobo; each giving different and often contradictory instructions about which boxes to tick or leave blank. At this point, I estimate I’ve lost over R2,000 in interest for every checkbox on that form due to these unnecessary delays. The process has been stressful, costly, and completely unreasonable for a simple withdrawal.
I’ve called over 10 times to Alexander Forbes (0860 100 444, 011 779 3205, 0860 100 333) about a simple savings withdrawal - speaking to Sebeka, Sbonga, Zolani Ngcobo, Sibahle Buthelezi, Kewagile, Xhlolani, Lerato, Amanda, and Thuli. I’ve been sent wrong forms, told to resubmit several times, waited 15+ minutes on hold per call, and received no confirmation or follow-up after submitting documents. Only a month later was I told my forms were invalid because two boxes were ticked. The delay caused missed payments, and loss of interest. I’ve lost confidence in Alexander Forbes’ service. I expect immediate resolution and written feedback for this negligence.
R99 ****s (ref: Peeq) run off my FNB cheque account monthly. Fnb claimed to have cracked down on this with Debit Order verification after billions were ****** from their customers over 20 years. I tried to call the ***** line for assistance. I gave my ID number, cell phone, Bank Account and Reference number of the ****. But they want me to verify my identity on the banking app - something I am unable to do while on the call.
Called MiWayLife to cancel an old policy from student years that I knew no details about. Had excellent service from Madimetsa Kekana who explained the policy to me and helped me update my details.
5 Stars for a great fields team and technical installations team. I am impressed with a recent installation the Trojan technical team (Mackson, Abraham, and Stephen B') has done - with every sensor mapped to my expectations for the alarm board and software system. I would recommend the Trojan technical team for alarm system installations.
- I invested about R350 000 in easyEquities in the past year in response to Covid, earning really good profits - Before investing more for this year,... - I decided to withdraw R2000 to gauge the withdrawal process - EasyEquities has no withdrawal button on their mobile & web applications - Queries are only attended to by the automated system - I have decided to withdraw all funds and go somewhere else or conventional banks
I bought a solar battery from Doohah, the item was unfortunately out of stock which let to frustrations and miscommunications. Doohah eventually arranged delivery of an alternative item that I am satisfied with - after my complaint. They have a dedicated friendly driver - with their delivery being very quick for items that are in stock. Doohah is indeed a legit creditable enterprise, I would advise checking with them if an item is in stock. Overall, Covid-19 has disturbed international shipping and Doohah should be more cautious about the impact as well as better communication to customers.
A vendor I bought from, with payment processed by PayFast became unresponsive for almost a month regarding the delivery of an order. After flagging the vendor with PayFast, Unathi Nogqala of PayFast intervened swiftly and the delivery of the item was made the following day. Thanks, PayFast - I now associate your badge with credibility when buying online
