I had the most horrible experience at Paintsmiths on Friday at 9h00. I brought a paint sample plus the paint name and asked for this to be matched and got an incredibly poorly matched sample. I can send a photo - not just a shade but a whole different colour alltogether. When I disputed the match I was gaslit by the technician. Also, I went to Midas Paintsmiths because of their minimal VOC commitment, but they provided me with Plascon paint without even enquiring about the swop and when I asked about the VOC (I am asthmatic and the paint was for a child room), they said the paints were all the same and all low. When I cited recent research on above-regulatory-levels of lead in SA paint, he assured me that water-based paint had no lead. I had previously had decent experiences at Midas Paintsmiths Stellenbosch (and especially at Somerset West earlier). However, I have also found the staff clueless wrt VOC content of their paints despite this being big part of their market differentiation. Do better, Midas!
I placed an order with QUENCH just before 12 today. A special gift for my aunt, including ice cream. The app was not updating and after four hours all I had was a clue that the ice cream and gifts have been left with a so-and-so. My aunt talked to everyone at reception and asked around and no-one knew this person. I asked Quench to phone the old age home and sort it out and they said it was my problem. The driver was unapologetic. My R400 order remained lost and with little help from Quench to track it after frustrating and unpleasant communication with them. I have uninstalled the app. At the time when I uninstalled the app it still said that the package had not been delivered to the address. Really confusing.
We bought a trampoline from Sportmans Warehouse four weeks ago. The springs have torn loose. We phoned them and asked them for a refund. They said we need to disassemble the trampoline and bring it back? Which is an easy way to avoid giving refunds as it will take us several hours to disassemble and then still the question of how on earth to transport it back? Seriously, Sportsmans Warehouse, this is not great service or client responsiveness. We bought this from SSW branch, but helpline has diverted us to Stellenbosch branch for refund.
I urgently bought some buffs from Trappers in May. They were expensive but I really needed them. They tried to deliver shoes to me via Courier Guy and when I noticed that there was a waybill below mine I could get them to take it back. However, have emailed them twice since and no reply. Nice customer service, Trappers? What is going on? I expect better from you. Other companies have emailed me apologies because deliveries were a week late, but you do not even reply to my email.
I received the most terrible service imaginable from Courier Guy. On 23 May they tried to deliver the wrong package to me and weirdly insisted that I take it even though it was a pair of shoes that I did not order and that was way too large for anyone in our household. Fortunately I noticed that they had switched the waybills and the original purchasers' waybill was still there so I could get them to take it back. But they never brought my order. I have emailed them and have phoned them three times - often getting cut off and not being phoned back. I was phoned back once, by bizarre and unprofessional person who was trying to convince me that I did receive my package long ago. That was about 3 weeks ago. Never heard from them again and then the tracking was closed suddenly last week, saying that the POD has been received. What on earth, Courier Guy?
Jane helped me to get a mermaid monofin to Cape Town in time for my daugther's birthday at very short notice. She had to pull out all the stops to make it happen - and much of this over the weekend.
