Ordered and paid for a laptop battery at Matrix Warehouse. When the battery arrived, it was not working. I am now told I have to wait 7 to 21 days for a refund. Surely this is not in line with the CPA? They don't even have a head office anymore and you can't get through to anyone senior to escalate.
Needed a replacement laptop battery. Was required to pay upfront. Two days later went in for fitment. Battery didn't work. Was told it would be exchanged however was then asked to come in the following day as the "head" technician would sort it out. Drove back and he couldn't sort out. Asked me to leave it till next day. Still couldn't fix. Then I am told that I have to wait for the supplier to credit Matrix before I can get a refund. Absolutely ridiculous. The consumer has to wait for the supplier to refund the store and to make matters worse there is no longer a Head Office to escalate to. Seems like a shady operation.
My brother was visiting from Canada. He hired a car and a "Fuel Upfront" option was selected which he unwittingly accepted. He returned the vehicle with a full tank of fuel but Avis still charged him for the "Fuel Upfront" and refuse to reverse this charge. They say that we are meant to return the vehicle on Empty and if not, its our loss. This sounds like Highway ******* to me and I am certain contravenes one if not many consumer protection clauses. If not resolved speedily, I will be initiating further action!
I purchased a Sinotec 5.1 Soundbar from Makro. Makro's website specifically advertises this unit with a 3 year warranty. After 2 years and 5 months the unit stopped working. Makro refuses to honor the warranty because Sinotec says they cannot fix as they don't have the parts anymore. Makro claims it is their choice to honor the warranty or not. This despite the Returns Manager (Floyd) assuring me he would sort it out. Beware consumers. Makro believes the consumer laws do not apply to them!!
I sent an HP printer in for repairs in June. Three months later (a few days ago) I got a message to collect the printer as it was repaired. I collected yesterday and printer is still not working. In fact it is even worse. After leaving numerous messages for the Returns manager and Store manager, neither takes or returns my call. Absolutely unacceptable service from a huge retailer.
Absolutely pathetic service. Line down for 3 days. Just blaming it on maintenance despite my explanation that I am the only down i.e. not area related. Rude and unhelpful customer care staff. Will be looking for other options now.
After having been a client for more than 10 years, I am appalled at the service received over the past few weeks. Due to severe illness, I was hospitalised in Jhb. After numerous calls from Blue about alarm activations, I agreed for them to come and install a guard cell on my gate so that they could have access. Technician came and installed the unit. Immediately after this, my gate which was working perfectly stopped working. Despite numerous interactions with the technical dept, to date gate is still not working. Technician claims he only knows how to install a guard cell and cannot assist even though he messed it up. To add insult to injury, I have just received a bill for the guard cell. I am 76 years old, in ill health, and Blue now expects me to open this gate manually as they are unable to restore my gate to its previously 100% working order. It has been over a week now and no communication from Blue about my gate except for the Guard cell bill.
Sent a parcel close to 3 weeks ago. Parcel was destined for Canada. Was advised it would arrive within 15 days. To date tracking is not updated and despite calling every department I have been bounced to, no one can locate the parcel. Completely unprofessional and pathetic service. One should rather pay a couple hundred rand more and use a private courier company or Postnet although I have to say the SA Post Office was NOT cheap for....well for NOTHING. My business has been getting numerous 5 star reviews over the past months but my review rating never moves. It is stuck at 4.3. I have lodged numerous disputes and queries with Google but the only response is that they cannot divulge any details about how the score is calculated and that it must be correct. How can over 20 to 25 new 5 star reviews in the past 3 months not create a dent in the rating? This Google rating that so many rely on is a complete farce.
Was asked to put R5000 deposit to reserve a car. Was assured money would be refunded within 72hrs should I not proceed to purchase. Its now almost a month later and despite numerous calls and empty promises, money has still not been refunded.
