Delivered for the second time to an incorrect address that was deleted from my address list long ago! They refuse to collect and redeliver or refund my parcel! I have spent over R200 on airtime calling takealot.com and each time after a lengthy discussion they promise to call back and email - the last call was 7 days ago with no return call or email. Today when I tried to call yet again the phone says cannot connce to TAKEALOT.
It was good while it lasted - now it is over & I want my money back for goods not received. In the last 5 orders I have placed, I have received WhatsApp messages saying they were running "a little late" - read hours. I should have seen it was the beginning of the end. Today I ordered at 1:36 pm - got a confirmation ETA of 3:00 pm (60 minutes????) my credit card has been debited and no delivery has arrived. Not even a WhatsApp message this time and no one was available when I tried calling from the app. Are Checkers also going to cover the cost of having to take my guests out to entertain them as my order did not arrive???
Excellent service and while I was on crutches invaluable - the delivery guys were always willing to come in and put the bags on the counter inside so I did not need to try and carry them in myself (safety precautions for the driver were in place). Since then, however, I find I still enjoy the app as after working all day it is marvellous to set the delivery time for when I get home and do not need to stop along the way.
Well done Woolworths Melkbosstrand - it took a long time for this store to get decently stocked and running well - I gave up asking them to ensure they stocked certainly regular basic items and went back to travelling further to the Table Bay branch. Now at last - amazingly mostly since lockdown - other than speciality items that I know I need to go to the big one for they are well stocked and more importantly stock every item I have asked various managers to stock since they opened. This is now my "home" woolies.
Thank you Takealot for excellent service - a week ago I notified them that a relatively inexpensive item I had purchased in Jan 2020 was falling apart - it had done what it promised to do and I had rated it 5 stars, but anticipated it lasting longer than 5 months. Within 24 hours I had a message saying they would collect on Monday - which they did and today, (Saturday) I received a brand new replacement - no arguments, no discussions just fast speedy service. I use takealot.com often and have to say they knock Amazon sideways! Thanks again - and when Amazon gets here I will remain loyal to takealot.com!
With prices on a par with chain hardware stores at Melbosstrand Hardware Store, I get personal advice and assistance - in many cases telling me what I need and how to do it! If an item is not available they promise to call you when it arrives - and they do call! #SupportLocal stay in the village there is no need to leave!
Deliveries always arrive on time -or sooner and I am yet to be disappointed that an item I ordered was less than I anticipated. It is one of the few sites that when I order something that is "on special" I receive the genuine item and not some cheap and shoddy knock off. Forget Amazon: #SupportLocal !
On 26 November 2019, I posted the following complaint: https://www.hellopeter.com/makro/reviews/disgusting-service-and-response-from-makro-montague-gardens-online-order-2922408 Within a short period of time I received a call from a representative of Makro's "Hello Peter Team" who very politely apologised for the problem and assured me that he would be contacting Makro Montague Gardens and they would be contacting me within the next 48 hours to organise replacement of the item that they knowingly (as it was written on the box!) despatched to me broken. That is the last I have heard. I then responded to my own review in the hope that the team would pick it up - they have not. I also emailed Makro yet again and on the same thread as my original complaint - this was not even acknowledged. It is beyond comprehension that a company this size will despatch an order when it is clearly written on the box by one of their own employees that there was a broken item in there. For them to ignore repeated requests for the situation to be rectified is absolutely unacceptable! Makro the only reason you have even one star on this review is because the site will not let me post it without giving you a star! I am hoping that the "Hello Peter Makro Team" (so-called it seems) will take notice of this new review as they obviously do not follow up once they have promised to rectify the situation to ensure this has actually been done. The fact that I was desperately trying to get my Christmas shopping done before going to the hospital for major surgery is of no consequence to them.
Placed large order with Makro which they split into two deliveries, despite advising them I am partially mobile and needed to know when they were arriving they arrived unannounced. As there was a glass broken in one or the gist sets I immediately complained. This is the response I received only 4 days later! "We apologize for the late response and for the inconvenience caused. Please advise if you have received your order." This was my compaint: " " One of the glasses in the Tanqueray Gift Set (of which I ordered and received 12) is broken. What makes this worse is that it does not appear to have been broken in transit but was actually knowingly despatched by yourselves in this condition as there is a label on the carton saying "Only 1 glass in gift pack is broken all the others are OK - Dimitri." Since the box was sealed it could not have been the couriers' who wrote that. Frankly, I am shocked and appalled and would like to know how and when this will be rectified?" In other words, they did not even read my complaint and have no intention of rectifying it. If I call customer services they refuse to put me through to a senior manager!
Today I did the wrong thing on my D_Link router and locked myself out, couldn't set anything at all and lost my wireless wifi connection. I called the Support number on the back of my router and the call was answered almost immediately. I dealt with a gentleman called Roger who was extremely kind and patient. He got me re set up and also taught me a few tricks including resetting my wifi password without making the mistake I made today. Thank you Roger.
