Checkout was courteous and considerate. My wife reached the checkout before I had a chance to present my loyalty card. The cashier instantly and with a very broad smile offered to cancel the transaction and start all over again. She then, with her manager, engaged us in a friendly chat. Most delightful experience for us.

A pair of R3,000 OC ‘Cloud Surfer’ shoes developed a squeak after 4 months light wear. (these are running shoes that were never used for running ). I 'lived' with the annoyance thinking that with wear it would disappear. When I eventually asked about this at the store from whom I bought the item, they considered it definitely a manufacturing flaw and asked that I return the pair. A week later on I returned the item with all packaging and the invoice. Two weeks later I stopped by to check and found that the item had not yet been returned from the distributor, Tifosi Sports. Another week passed, and on 8 December I returned and was told that the return was one month out of the warranty period –– no other explanation or comment on the condition of the shoe. In other words, the quality and reputation of an expensive product is left to rest entirely on a simple technicality (disregarding the time it took to return the item, have it sent to Tifosi Sports, and to have it returned to the On Air Store in Sandton City). A previous complaint about an OC shoe that lost its heel fit and returned after only one week’s wear only received a 15% discount on future purchase. I would like to make customers aware of the not-so-reliable quality of OC sports shoes (despite their high marketing profile) and specifically warn buyers be fully aware of the distributor, Tifosi Sports’ apparent disregard for individual customer incidences. Called Electricians on call out to replace a faulty geyser timer. nEeded up being told i needs to replace my entire DB board. When the geyser timer still kept tripping, they replaced that too. When the geyser continued to trip, they found the geyser heating element burnt out -- which was the main problem all along. Now the timer has also lost its backup facility....cannot get them to come and repair despite being in the warranty period. WORST AFTER CARE SERVICE IMAGINABLE. I must strongly disourage anyone from using this company.
CARISA 2nd Summit Conference for Professional Associations: <br> <br> CARISA purports to assist professional associations. I was called and invited to replace a speaker who had cancelled at short notice. Being quite unfamiliar with professional association's sector, I spent good time preparing my PowerPoint slide deck and tailoring it to this specialised audience.<br> <br> I was never offered an honorarium (customary practice of professional conferences) nor was an offer made to cover my travel costs. When I enquired after travel costs reimbursement I was asked to photograph my odometer!<br> <br> The chairperson for my and other session was NOT on the CARISA staff but introduced me and thanked most professionally. In stark contrast, there was no offer of thanks from the organisers but I made a concerted effort, and risked interrupting their discussion with their sponsors, to thank them for inviting me before I left the conference venue.<br> <br> Imagine my surprise to find the conference commercially sponsored, my presentation video-taped without consultation, and...the DVDs made available for purchase ---- whether to offset costs or ...!<br> <br> I received an emailed thank you1 month later!
