Dear Bonitas Team, I am writing to formally request a detailed explanation and raise a concern regarding an unexpected co-payment app**** to my claim for treatment received at Zwavelstream Clinic on 09 July 2025 (Claim number: 8601380673). Prior to my admission, I contacted Bonitas for pre-authorization, and I was clearly advised that no co-payment would apply. Based on this confirmation, I proceeded with my treatment, fully trusting that the medical aid would cover the costs as discussed. However, upon review of the claim details, I noticed the following: --- Claim Breakdown: Claim 1 Amount charged: R24,620.40 Scheme rate: R24,620.40 Paid to provider: R17,234.28 Co-payment incurred: R7,386.12 Claim 2 Amount charged: R8,169.90 Scheme rate: R8,169.90 Paid to provider: R5,718.93 Co-payment incurred: R2,450.97 --- Total Out-of-Pocket Cost: R9,837.09 This constitutes approximately 30% co-payment, which was never disclosed to me prior to treatment. I am extremely concerned and feel blindsided by this outcome, especially after being explicitly told during the pre-auth process that no payment would be required from my side. This has caused financial distress and a breach of trust in the support I expected during a time of medical vulnerability. I respectfully request the following: 1. A full written explanation of why a 30% co-payment was app**** despite pre-authorization stating otherwise. 2. Confirmation of the scheme rules or plan limitations that led to this partial payment. 3. If this was an error, I request a reassessment and refund of the co-payment amount already made. 4. If not an error, kindly explain why inaccurate or misleading information was provided during the pre-auth call.
Students who are complaining about this institution Please do not apply here. You will live to regret every moment. I am struggling so much right now. It's worse that the municipality. High fees, bad service, no one answers at the call center. The research report was the worse experience of my life. Zero support and vague answers. I do not know why they allocate supervisors.
I am reaching out in a state of distress regarding the recent surge in my municipal bill, which has escalated drastically from around R3,000 to an unmanageable R21,000 over the past three months. This sudden increase has put a significant strain on my finances, as my usual bill was in the range of R1,000 or slightly higher. However, it has now consistently exceeded R4,000, which is beyond what I can reasonably afford. I have made no changes to my property that would justify such a spike in usage or charges. I have contacted COJ for assistance, but I have been informed that this increase is due to arrears on my account. However, this does not align with my previous payment history, and I am unable to understand how these arrears accumulated so suddenly. I am now struggling under the burden of debt as a result, with no clear explanation or resolution provided.
This is the worse academic institution I have ever dealt with in my life. The student advisor messed up one of my modules terms so I have to re register for a module a did not do and pay the full amount. If you owe any amount, regardless whether you make an arrangement or not - they will withhold any information as a form of punishment - so bare in mind - if you owe, you will not know if you need to re-write an exam or not then you fail and you re-register and pay the full amount again. Its a ****. Be very careful. I have to go the ombudsman with this one. And also to mention, the student advisors speak over you when you try to explain. Student support is very low. Its about the MONEY. Not education.
A re-registration student does not get the same treatment as a new student. 1. You pay the same amount , well now its more but the service is so bad, they even tell you that you do not get hard copies of the study material. 2. I asked for 2 subjects per semester, was sent an email that the portal will be updated in 24 hours. (BARE IN MIND THE EMAIL STILL STATES 2ND SEMESTER), The portal still shows 2nd semester (THAT MEANS IT WAS NEVER UPDATED). 3. My mancosa app on my phone (ALSO NOT UPDATED). Now I have an exam next month which I did not prepare for, or do the assignments because it still shows second sem ONLINE, but the student advisor says she advised me telephonically. Hello, let me say, you are required to remember these convos. After all of this, when I query, I am told, oh well, you're a RE-REGISRATION STUDENT!!!! So basically, we *****ed, but we PAY!!!
I was referred by my GP to the hospital on Friday evening, for my excessive coughing. I was put on a drip and pain meds, was left so long unattended too that the drip finished and the meds even wore out, bare in mind the Dr that was seeing to me just left and had to wait for another Dr. I was given a script for an antibiotic which has left me curling on the floor with stomache cramps, vomiting and nausea, I'm still coughing excessively and feel 1000 times worse than I did on Friday when I went in, I am also dehydrated now because of the vomiting. They don't really care about you until you almost dying. I'm so disappointed.
All I want is a proforma invoice that shows the outstanding fees. I have outstanding fees only because Mancosa does not split the course into 2 years so bursaries do not cover 100% now I want to complete the outstanding modules but apply for bursary to do so however they wont give you an estimate because you have outstanding fees so basically you cannot re-apply while you still paying your outstanding fees.
I'm really struggling with this Body Corporate. Last year I emailed an agent to assist with a payment arrangement for the arears however they are not assisting me so that they send 2 emails in the month and charge me R150 for an email. I have emailed them so many times and no one responds at all. They are not here to help, they are there to profit. Its been 6 months and no response or assistance but they never fail to charge extra fees or send reminders for arears,
We keep getting agents tracing down family members to apply for my gran dads surplus funds, they ask for documents and everything just to say he beneficiaries don't qualify because he died, this has happened countless times. How is this fair to his kids that are still alive? He worked in the mines his whole life for minimum wage, died poor and his kids are still living in poverty till this day, they contacting his kids and give them hope that they will receive some compensation and then say no because he died. If the funds that were rightfully his cannot be given to his beneficiaries that need it, what is the fund doing with those monies?
I have been trying so long to get my name removed from Debt Counselling, the response time to respond to emails is about 3 weeks. The service I got when I joined was excellent I was called in 5 mins and before I knew the process was done but let me tell you, once you decide to get out of debt counseling, it's a tedious process.
