A solar system is a big investment, so we wanted to ensure that we hired the right company as we have heard a few solar horror stories. We are pleased to say we hit the jackpot with Your Solar SA! In November 2023, we decided to look at the top 3 solar companies on Hello Peter. The rankings keep changing and at that stage we contacted Sensible Solar, Mirua and Your Solar SA. In addition, we contacted two referrals, APS and Enpal. All of them provided a quote before doing a site visit, except Your Solar SA – Your Solar said they want to provide an accurate quote based on my needs. Turns out I need a 20kw battery and the others quoted on 7kw and 10kw batteries. We want a full solar system – not a backup system! One quote did not list the individual items – they just had a lump sum – how do I then compare prices? The salesperson then tells me he has provided a ‘special price’ which he cannot guarantee until January 2024. We don’t like high-pressure sales tactics and it turns out his ‘special price’ on a 7.5kw battery system was more than his competitor’s 10kw battery price! Your Solar SA honoured their 2023 quote in January 2024. The admin lady at the one company promised to follow up the next day – she followed up a week later. Her sales rep also promised to contact me “the next day” – he contacts me 10 days later. Another company says they want to have a Zoom meeting to ensure I understand the process and they understand my needs – I get stood up. And they spell their company name incorrectly on the Zoom invite… I contact one of the companies via their Facebook page contact page – twice. I get no response. I then post on their Facebook page that I contacted them without a response – the MD then phones me, provides a quote, and sends his rep for a site visit. The rep is horrified that our DB board is in the house and not in the garage. He says there will be lots of wires going through our house – unless they put the (noisy!) inverter inside and then he wants to requote us! Your Solar SA solved that issue easily without having lots of wires going through our house and they didn’t have to requote us. If these companies cannot get the sales step right, how are they going to get the installation step right? Some of the horror stories related to companies outsourcing the solar installation and if there were problems later, they then refer the client to the installer. We did not want that – we want to deal with one company that does everything in-house, like Your Solar SA. (One of the companies **** to us and said they do the installation, but I found out from the person who referred them to me that they outsource, and my friend was not happy with the job the first time and they had to send a second company to redo the installation!) We have provided all these details to show that you need to do some homework before making your purchase. We are very happy with Your Solar SA – they sent a team of six people and finished the installation in one day. 12 solar panels, a 20kva battery and 8kva inverter – works great for our needs. Marius, the MD, provided us with his contact details in case we need to speak with him. In addition, we have been provided with an app where we can list any issues and get them resolved. It works! We did have a few teething issues and Your Solar SA says they will respond within an hour – we put them to the test and each time they arrived within an hour for the emergency and then made appointments to resolve two other issues. The true test of a company is how they resolve problems! We have had the system for two months and it works. We run our stove, geyser, lights and aircon with no issues. Your Solar SA rocks!
My wife found this company online and asked me to check them out - I searched on Google and saw they had 3 x 5-star reviews. My wife phoned them on a Friday and they seemed professional. They said they would try and source a certain plumbing part, which they allegedly found and my wife told them to go ahead and do the fitting next week. While she was talking with them I realised Google had shown me the incorrect company that had 'Elite' as part of its name. I then went to Hello Peter and saw all these ********** reviews of Elite Plumbing 24/7! I told my wife to phone the owner back immediately - so 3 minutes later she phones him back to cancel next week's job but he says he has already driven to the store and bought the item - IN 3 MINUTES!? He then sends us an invoice of R850 for transport costs with veiled threats if we don't pay. Well, he won the battle but lost the war - he scored a paltry R850 but how much business is he going to lose when you read all these terrible reviews. I'm not going to post on social media about him - he will reap what he sows. "The LORD will take revenge and punish them; the time will come when they will fall; the day of their doom is near." Deuteronomy 32:35
We signed up with AVIS in 2018 as a booking agent. We have a travel website with thousands of monthly visitors who are looking for lodges, car hire, etc. We were dealing Jared Viljoen, the Digital Specialist, and submitted all the requested forms and uploaded all the ads on our website. It's now 4 years later and we have not heard from AVIS regarding bookings made via our website. Upon contacting Jared, we are told there have been a few completed bookings but we have not been paid our commission or received one statement as Finance did not load us on the system. We provided fresh forms for Finance but now Jared is not responding to our emails and we have no other contact people at AVIS. This is not the way to treat a business partner...
For the past few months my monthly credit card debit order would come off on the 9th of each month. At least 2-3 days before, I would get a reminder email so I could ensure there was sufficient funds. This month (April) the debit order comes off on the 7th (why not the 9th like usual?) and I get the reminder email on the 13th April - 6 days after the debit order came through and was returned unpaid! (I have all the screenshots should you want to see them). I then receive a warning SMS notifying me that I need to pay the balance by 18th April to ensure continued use of the card, so I pay today (16th) but when I try to use the card it has already been blocked. Will I still be charged a fee for the returned debit order in spite of this poor service? Standard Bank - your service is usually tops - I hope these glitches are temporary!
The current advertising campaign from Axxess states \Get-double-data-on-ALL-top-ups"but when I topped up there was no mention of my double data. When I email them they responded very quickly to tell me \""it is just for normal capped accounts not for the prepaid accounts unfortunately\"". Well the your ad states ALL TOP UPS! """
My vehicle was broken into at OR Tambo and the on-board computer stolen. The service initially started well - I was given a hire car on the day and for the next few days the service from Mpho Tshabangu was very good and then the decline stated. Mpho then didn't reply to my emails so I contacted Nthabiseng who also didn't' reply. I was given a new contact person, Riaan, who told me he would get their manager TLANGI MPITI to phone me - I'm still waiting! A Grace from customer service eventually contacted me but simply told me what the panel beater had already told me - i received no new info. I have now received my vehicle back from Grorap, the panelbeater, but I'm not happy with the job. I let Peter at the panel beater know but have had no reply to my email. Outsurance have not asked me if I'm satisfied with my vehicle - surely that's the first thing they should do after I get it back!!?? Seems like they don't care or they have too many clients and cannot provide good service to everyone.
I received an SMS to bring in my documents for FI CA so I endured standing in a queue in the Pretoria branch last week for an hour to be told \ your FI CA is up to date you don't need to do anything". Today my card is swallowed by an atm due FI CA non compliance. I leave tomorrow to go to Botswana and Namibia and am training today so this is going to be interesting to see what solution Standard Bank comes up with for a loyal client..."""
