I am extremely disappointed with the way my complaint regarding three damaged Continental tyres has been handled by Continental Tyres South Africa and Tyremart Hatfield. On 10 April 2025, I purchased three Continental tyres from Tyremart Hatfield. Less than a year later, on the night of 06 February 2026, my vehicle drove through potholes — something unfortunately very common on South African roads. All four tyres on the vehicle went through the same potholes under the same conditions. However, only the three Continental tyres purchased from Tyremart developed sidewall bulges, while the fourth tyre of a different brand remained completely intact and functional. This raises a very serious and legitimate concern about the durability and structural integrity of the Continental tyres. I contacted both Tyremart and Continental regarding this issue. Instead of a proper investigation or meaningful assistance, I received a generic technical explanation about how tyre sidewalls are constructed and how potholes can cause sidewall damage. The final conclusion provided was simply that “no manufacturing defect was found.” This response is unacceptable and dismissive of the actual facts. If potholes alone were responsible for the damage, then all four tyres should reasonably have been affected. The fact that only the three Continental tyres failed while the other tyre survived the same impact clearly raises questions about the quality and resilience of these tyres. There was also no visible rim damage, which further weakens the argument that this was purely impact-related failure. Consumers buy reputable brands like Continental because they expect quality, durability and safety, especially when driving in real-world conditions where potholes are unavoidable. Tyres that develop sidewall bubbles within less than a year of purchase raise serious concerns. What is most disappointing is the lack of accountability and willingness to properly reassess the matter. I have been a loyal Tyremart customer since my student years in Hatfield, and this experience has severely damaged my confidence in both Continental Tyres South Africa and Tyremart Hatfield. WATCH OUT - PATHETHIC SERVICE!

Standardbank Prestige I called and made telephone application for overdraft increase on 17 December. To date I'm still waiting and I'm told different stories by call Centre agents. I've called 7 times and no assistance whatsoever. I've confirmation of address over and over. The branch Prestige never respond to emails, telephone and cellphone is off at all times. It has become a pain to deal with standardbank in the 12months. I considering a switch every time I've to deal with this institution. Standard of service has dropped so much.
Terrible service I'm experiencing from the standard bank insurance. I have put a storm damage claim four weeks again and I've called 5 times and no progress. Assessment on storm damage was done. Useless call centre agents with different stories given every time I call. I need intervention and further damage is occurring in the house. I've been paying for this insurance over 11yrs.
I've reported a geyser that burst on 7 June 15. It was replaced on 9 June 15. Few minutes after replacement a pipe burst on the wall. So I called Outsurance and they called the service to come close the geyser as the pipe that burst was the galvanised pipes carry hot water. I was told I need to put another claim for Outsurance to fix the pipe. This is after I've paid R2140 of excess on geyser replacement. I went ahead and in a claim on 10 June 15 and service provider only came to my house on15 June 15. Mind you I still have no hot water since 7 June 15.When they came I asked them to check the hot pipes before fixing the one that burst on the wall. They checked and indicated me that all the hot pipes are damaged and immediately called Thomas whom I always have to try x4 or more getting hold of him and he indicated he will out a rep to checked the pipes for possible replacement. I told Thomas Im not happy for the service provider to continue fixing one pipe, they rather wait the thorough check of all the galvanised pipes is done to avoid paying individual excess for one and same issue.<br> Today, 17 June 15 still waiting without hot water in the bitter cold of Pretoria with three my kids
