Just to enlighten people using the small claims court to get your monies refunded or repaid. As per my experience it was a wasted and costly exercise. You have to go to the court in their jurisdiction to get a letter of demand then get the police escort in their area to deliver the letter. The same applies to getting a summons if you are not paid. It becomes a costly exercise and then if he owns nothing of value what will the sheriff of the court attach because even that is a cost factor. So rather in future never part with your until a service is delivered.
Shared my experience of dealing with Angus Bulterman of World of fires. Had to go to the small claims court in Roodepoort causing me inconvenience. On trying to deliver a letter of demand to the address on the site found out he no longer resides there. Phoned him and his first words were I'm going to pay you. The Police officer obtained his address. I had to go home and return that night to get the Police to escort me to his current address in Witpoortjie and the same story I'm going to pay you. I then had to go back to Roodepoort court to get a letter for him to appear in court. In court he promised to pay me R2000 per month and the balance by end of June. This was in February. Has not paid me a cent. Phoned him a couple of times and the same story will deposit the money tonight. Still nothing. Now he no longer answers his phone and I am supposed to be going back to court end of June to get the sheriff of the court to attach what ever he owns which is most probably nothing. I have been running around from October 2025 and it has cost me a little fortune with no results. Please people fo not fall for the promises of this ******. An expensive lesson to learn from this episode.
From my experience with the above company owned by Angus Bulterman. Please be cautious and do not pay him upfront for his services. He has given me the run around for 7 weeks with excuses whenever he was reachable by cell phone otherwise he just ignored your calls and refused to answer. When reached his response would be "I will deposit the funds tonight and 4 weeks later that still has not materialised. Please be careful as you will regret dealing with him.
Had the misfortune to deal with Angus the owner of World of fires. He removed an old fireplace from my house. He then offered to install a new fireplace for me which I thought was a great idea because he was referred to me by Charmaine at Jetmaster. I then paid him a deposit for a fireplace from Lava fireplaces because he does installations for them too. He was suppose to install the fireplace a week later which did not materialize. I've now been forced to phone him every week to find out when this is going to happen. Excuses and more excuses but he just ain't pitching to do the job. He does not answer his phone nor does he phone you back. A month later I managed to get hold of him and was promised my deposit will be returned to me but it just ain't happening. I think he is a con man. Please do not deal with him.
Purchased a Volvo XC40 from their branch in Midrand with a 100000/60 Maintenance plan. Had problems trying to do annual services on vehicle on 2 occasions as according to Volvo SA the vehicles plan was already registered on their system in May or June. So instead of me servicing my vehicle at the end of September I now had to service it in May or June.
Purchased items from Temu that utilizes Buffalo ex as the couriers for the parcel. I paid the delivery fees. Nobody phones me to arrange delivery but they phone me on Saturday at 12pm to say they are delivering. I am not at home and the delivery person makes a 20 second call which I do not respond to. I have now tried to get them to deliver but the phone plays "the sounds of silence music while you wait but no answer after 3 or 4 minutes. I have tried a couple of times with no answer. I have also tried leaving a message on their Whatsapp number and no response from that either. They told me they got to response from my cell number and sent me a URL to organize another date for delivery but all it asks is to confirm delivery address but no date section. This is terrible service. I will never deal with them and Temu again.
Had a problem with an eft paid to a company. Contacted the bank and was given a bit of a run around to different departments. Eventually was given the correct procedure and the issue was resolved.
Booked accomodation through Afristay for an overnight stay at Umtali country lodge in Aliwal North. The staff were very accommodating welcoming and willing to assist. The room was clean and had a coffee station and television with selected Dstv stations. The bathroom was neat and clean.
I've been contemplating changing my motor vehicle. So it drives me in the direction of motor vehicle dealerships only to find out what a bunch of conniving con artist motor dealer salespeople are. They will offer you very little for your asset in order to maximize their profits both ways....on your trade in and on the new vehicle. I drive a Landrover Discovery Sport SD4 SE with extras that I had to pay for that is of no benefit or makes no difference to the trade in value. The vehicle is in great condition and is a pleasure to drive. To be honest I love the vehicle but thought of maybe getting an Evoque to replace it. There is nothing wrong with the vehicle everything is in great condition even the interior looks new. They also want to sell you a vehicle with all the bells and whistles that you have to pay extra for but also does not add any extra value when trading it in. They offered me way below trade value with the reason being that there is not enough profit built into the new vehicle I want to purchase.(does that make any sense) The manufacturer has a build your own vehicle on their site but the dealers try to sell you anything besides what you want. Then there is the other thing I take the same vehicle to a different manufacturers dealership and I am offered R120,000.00 more for my vehicle on a trade in. The dealerships use Transunions trade in guide (which is really only a guide) as if it's the know all of the trade but it is skewed in favour of the dealer network. Makes you think right is someone out there trying to con me?
Have used them on numerous occasions and some turned into nasty experiences. My current one is about an advert on their site for accomodation at Tofo beach at price R585 per night for 2 people but the quote comes back at R651 per night. I got an email saying Neo would be my personal contact person but get no response from emails sent to Neo regarding this discrepancy.
