I purchased a Camp Master thermo cooler for 3,000.00 and 3 months after warranty ( one year) it stopped to work. I was on an extended safari and communicated with Camp Master about it and my disappointment at the quality. I even tried to have it repaired but it was not repairable,…it looked like an electric wire fried. Now after 5 more months trying to resolve this disaster coolbox, Campmaster does nothing. They told me a woman from their company was trying to phone me but I never got a call or a missed call once. They sell rubbish and don’t back their products with a sense of pride and quality. I also bought a camping chair which disintegrated in 5 months. It was difficult to bring it back for an exchange because I can only carry so much in my truck and didnt have room for a broken chair and a new chair.
In July 2017 I bought a new mini compressor. Then I went on safari for seven months. When I needed this compressor, it wouldn’t work. When I returned home I went to Midas in my town and Ben tested it and it worked. I put it back in my vehicle and went again on safari for 3 months. Again when I needed it , it wouldn’t work. So on my return, Ben tested it again and sure enough it didn’t work. Not on my vehicle or another one. I asked to have it replaced but because it was a few months past warranty, Midas refused. The compressor was still brand new in its box. It only came out of the box 4 times, the first time it was need on safari, then when Ben tested it on return and then the 2nd time it went on safari and again when it was tested on return. There is something wrong with this kind of service. It obviously was a defective item. A compressor is something that one doesn’t use everyday so it sits with the spares that go along on a safari. Unfortunately I have to wait until I return to my home town as there were no Midas stores enroute and I felt confident because the local Midas does know me. I previously owned a compressor just like this one for 30 years and it always worked. It was so old and broken I gave it away and thought to just get a new one, but unfortunately i regretted it twice as it left me stranded until I could get help. This was at KOMATIPOORT Midas with Ben Stander as manager.

I bought a 40 L Camp Master Thermo cooler at Game in Amanzitoti early March 2016. After years of camping with cool boxes, ice and getting soggy food, I was jazzed with this thermo cooler. Within the warranty time , it started to act up and I contacted Camp Master. They gave me a technician to contact and he never ever answered his phone. The problem eventually sorted itself out. But 4 months after warranty, July 2017, on an extended safari, the cooler just stopped functioning. I used ice again, but then contacted Camp Master about the situation. I got a reply from a Magoda, answered his question but never got a bit of service or assistance or help after that. I am a pensioner and put out R3000.00 for something that lasted all of 16 months. I love camping out and need a solution for my food. I can’t justify R3000.00 for a glorified ice box that turns my food soggy again and these Engel fridges are not in my budget. Nor is trying to do repairs on this thermocooler if I even know where to get them done. Furthermore, I bought a Camp Master camping chair and I was shocked that it disintegrated in FIVE months. I was travelling with it, meaning it was not sitting outside in the hot sun. I can’t recommend the quality of Camp Master products, and they don’t back them up with service.

I was looking for an older model Toyota Hilux 4x4 and I was directed to one for sale in Barberton with S&J Fitment Centre. I went out to see it and liked it and of course started to ask questions about it since it was a 1998 model. Jappie De Jongh, owner of the Fitment Center told me it was his. He had had it for 4 months but realised he had really no place to store it so was selling. He told me it had had been ONE owner, a farmer from Hoedspruit who really took care of it.

He told me he would get it roadworthy tested. I took it to Toyota for a look down and we found some leaky seals which I was assured would get fixed.

I purchased the vehicle on trust, only to find it had EIGHT previous owners, never was put through roadworthy for me but rather I had outstanding fees to pay on it from previous owner. Jappie NEVER owned the car but was selling for someone else.

I ,of course asked when was the last oil change and Jappie told me about 300km ago and that the kms were written on the filter. The truth was when I got an oil change done, the oil was so thick it barely came out. The service book ended 100km ago. There were no kms on the oil filter. There was no evidence of “being well looked after.” None of the seals were replaced, and I could go on.

It has taken me a lot of extra time and money to get this vehicle to be suitable for the purpose I intended but above all, I am appalled that Jappie could not be trusted. It is as easy to tell the truth then defraud someone.

Beware of buying from the S&J Used Cars/ Fitment centre in Barberton. Jappie is an outright liar.

July 5 I went into Checkers in Hazyview. I paid with a FNB debit card and requested 2000 cash. The card refused several times so it was suggested I pay and then swipe for the additional cash. Somehow there was difficulty...we swiped several times and I finally I received the cash. On returning home online I found that 2000 was taken off my bank account TWICE. I went back to Checkers and informed them I urgently needed this money back in my account.

They told me this happens often. Now 5 days later the money is still not returned. They say it is FNB's fault. I would rather say it is up to Checkers Finance Dept to rectify this as it seems to happen a lot. Never anywhere at any other supermarket have I had this happen. It is imperative they return my money immediately and sort it out with FNB at their leisure!

When I first moved into this area, 2GB of data carried me through a month. Then I needed 4 GB monthly through another year.

Then I bought 5GB and it lasted 10 days. Now a half year later 5 GB lasts 4 or 5 days. Something is not right here. All my computer auto updates are off. I do the same general emails, surfing, downloading and watch short informative youtbes as always. I have the same computer.

I can only assume Vodacom is not ethical with its data measurement. I have travelled up and down Africa and Vodacom feels like the most expensive data on the continent. Unfortunately there is poor connectivity to other service providers. Or I would try another.

I cant even imagine the luxury of watching a full length movie!

I have been buying 5 GB data. It seems to only last 10 days. Previously I bought a one year promotion of 4GB that lasted a month.

The vodacom shop people commented that my data of 5 GB should go further than 10 days so the last bundle I was real careful with. On the eve of the 9th day I checked the remaining data>>>it was 3.8 GB. The following day without using any at all it was 00.0GB. There is really something wrong here. I have been getting 5GB bundles since end of OCT 2016 and just about every 10 days had to get a new bundle.

All updaters on computer are off and as sson as I finishe with interent I turn everything off. No computer on at night and no modem on at night ever!

Aug 17,2015 I took delivery of a new R3200.00 fridge from THE FRIDGE FACTORY (Ursela) in Joburg, distributed by ELAN DISTRIBUTORS (Quinton) from Barberton and serviced by LOWVELD SERVICE CENTER (Vim) in Nelspruit. Early October I contacted Quinton in Barberton, the fridge was defective. I got NO help whatsoever, then contacted Ursela in Joburg repeatedly by phone who said she would contact Vim in Nelspruit to service fridge.

Finally after endless phone calls a new thermostat was put in the fridge Christmas week (Dec 22)! The fridge acted worse after that so early in New Year contacted Ursela, the supplier who said I must contact the distributor. He was unavailable so I contacted Vim, the service center, again who said the fridge needed replacing and he would facilitate it.

Another 2 months later I have heard from no one and have never received a replacement fridge. I have been sitting FIVE months with a defective fridge getting no help!!! And I am tired of wasting phone calls!
I had used up my data bundles and had one day to wait for the new 2GB bundle to come available. In cases like that I will just use my SIM card from my cell phone. I know it can use more airtime than data time but I had done it many times before measuring and seeing it doesnt use very much more. I had data bundles remaining on my cellphone SIM card. The message said 500MB expiring in a day so I decided to use it. Just to check email. I checked how much airtime I had left. R185.19 plus 500 MB data. I sent one email and checked weather. The email was written offline first and just copied and pasted. The weather was just a click to a link. Maybe 2-3 minutes if even. After I checked my airtime again. R53.19. So tell me how can I use R132.00 for 2 minutes online.
