Wesley is super, he replaced a transponder key for me at a fraction of the price that I was quoted by two other locksmiths. He also repaired the remote keyless transmitter for the car for the same price, while one of the other two locksmiths tried and could not repair it, with the second not quoting me but implying that it would be very expensive. Highly recommended!
Not really the most suitable category for a company that manufactures and installs water features. I purchased a pond and waterfall from WFW's extensive range several months ago. A couple of weeks ago some damage to the pond became evident and I took up the matter with the manufacturer. I did not request a replacement, but initially contacted them to simply seek advice on the problem. Without any discussion or argument, they offered to replace the entire installation, which they did within 2 weeks of me raising the problem with them. I think this is commendable and think that many other manufacturers and service suppliers could learn from this level of service.
On either the 21st or 22nd of November 2019, my ADSL and landline went down. I was informed after a few days that Telkom was no longer able/willing to repair the line which had been vandalised more than once previously. I immediately logged in to Telkom's online portal and requested a cancellation of my service. I received a notification SMS in this regard, but nothing further. Subsequently in December 2019 when I received an invoice I followed up again via the Telkom portal and again in January 2020. Telkom never once contacted me to complete the process. I subsequently started ignoring their monthly invoices as I had not had a service since late November 2019. Today, the 5th of July 2021, I received an SMS indicating that my account is thousands of Rands in arrears and that Telkom are going to suspend my service if this is not paid. What service, Telkom? I have not had a service in more than 19 months and have more than once requested a cancellation!
After several repeated attempts I was unable to make an online booking to renew my driver's licence, which had already expired. I felt desperate and decided to try the services of this business who claim they will make a booking on your behalf for a fee. I paid my fee by EFT, received a confirmation email and no further communication from this business. Subsequently after numerous further repeated attempts I was in fact able to make my own booking. The Natis online booking system is inefficient, however, with some effort one can actually make a booking using this system. Do not be fooled by businesses who claim they will make such bookings on your behalf!
I received an email from Fines SA with the subject line "Your outstanding traffic fine account". The email contained no proof of any outstanding traffic fine, but instead has a link with the following wording "* CLICK HERE - to view your traffic fine statement * By clicking here you have agreed to opt in to receive your national monthly traffic fine statement issued by Fines SA (Pty) Ltd". A few days later I received a telephone call from the company telling me I have not responded to their email. I told the lady on the telephone that I have not received a single 'Infringement Notice' indicating that I have received any traffic fine and therefore am not interested in their service. This is true for the past several years in my case. The procedure for issuing of fines in South Africa is: 1. An Infringement Notice can either be hand written by an officer if you are pulled over or issued electronically in the case of camera infringements and sent by mail. 2. If this is not paid within 32 days, a "Courtesy Letter" is then issued giving a date by which the fine must be paid or alternatively the option to appear in court. In general with the few fines I have received in my life, I have acted on the Courtesy Letter. Given that I have not received a single 'Infringement Notice' or 'Courtesy Letter' in several years, I have no intention of agreeing to receive fine statements via unsolicited emails and telephone calls from either FINES SA or any of numerous other companies providing the same service.
I purchased vinyl sticker bin numbers for my wheelie bin after my second bin was stolen within a space of less than 18 months. Rasco Designs sell the numbers via their binnumbers.co.za website and their service was prompt and the stickers look very professional. They were also easy to apply (provided you do it slowly and carefully) and I am very happy with the result. Looks better than any of the other options I have seen for sale and MUCH better than badly painted bin numbers! Hopefully this now dissuades other scum buckets from taking my wheelie bin.
I contacted Shave Paints in Sandton on Saturday morning about a paint colour that they had made up for me 4 years ago. Despite 4 years having past and that the store had moved from Boksburg where they were situated at the time, the record was still available on their system. They not only quoted me a lower price than my local hardware store to mix up the paint (which the local hardware could not do in exactly the same shade), they also offered to deliver it to me in Boksburg at no extra charge. The paint was delivered to my house on Monday morning! (I would have been happy if they had combined it with other deliveries in my area to reduce their costs, even if it meant a few day's wait for me). Shave Paint's prices are excellent and with incredible service like this, I am not going to be buying paint elsewhere again!
I wanted to place an order for some books via the online shop, however, a friend had ordered another music book that had been sent to the Pretoria branch. I contacted the Pretoria branch to find out how we could combine the two orders to reduce courier charges. Melody from the Pretoria shop went out of her way to assist me with facilitating my request. In addition to her excellent service, the package was collected from the shop after 4:00 PM on Friday afternoon and delivered to me the following morning by their courier service. Really fantastic service all around!
