I was a loyal customer of Culinary Equipment Company and had high expectations for their service. However, my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. I placed an order for expensive Mauviel products in February of this year, but I have yet to receive them. The company's communication throughout this ordeal has been abysmal, and now I am facing difficulties in obtaining a refund. I feel like my money has been taken without any intention of delivering the products or providing a refund.
Please run away from these guys. Their support number 081 610 1000 is offline. We have contacted support to cancel our contract in August already - with no luck. Zero / Poor signal in our area. They keep on deducting R999 from our account each month!!! Please please don't even bother with them!
Why I'm writing this review? We have been a reasonable client from day one, but there comes a point where a particular situation becomes so ridiculous that one wishes someone has warned us against a service provider. I hope and trust that this review will warn prospective clients to carefully consider using Poly Pools for their pool installation. Great initial service As with most things, first impressions are often the most important one. Mike Downey from Poly Pools did a great job here. They were not the cheapest quote, but Mike seemed like he was an operator and on to of things. In my wife's own words: 'they seem like really nice people, so lets go with them.' In hindsight, is this great sales service essentially as a result of pressure on new business volumes? I'm speculating. Off to a good start Once deposit was paid on 18 July 2017, their team was onsite and all seemed ok. Until the issues started... Incompetent Plumming While digging a whole for the pool, Jean and his team struck our main water supply. This is probably not an unusual event given the nature of the job. But taking a full day trying to fix it (after we had to spend a few hundered rands to buy the components for Jean) showed the first signs of incompetence. At the end we had to arrange a professional plumber, after hours, to fix the pipe. The water supply took down two houses, a guest house and restaurant - fixing it was urgent. Our total plumming related bill was R4007.97 which Jean from Poly Pools said they are not paying. Incompetent Electrical work. In Jean's own words (translated): 'I cannot issue you with an electrical certificate, but I'm definitely capable to do the work'. 2 months ofter installation our pump stopped working due to electrical failure. We got out a professional electrician who was disgusted at the poor quality of work that he actually took the time to write a detailed report on the work. We have sent this report to Edita at Poly Pools and after two weeks had no formal feedback on the report. Pool not horizontally installed. Jean confirmed that the pool installation was done, but when we got back home the installation was not horizontally aligned. Jean came back the next week, emptied the pool water, and sorted it out. Then there were the PolyAqua Leaks... After installation, there was a daily interaction with Jean and after coming out 6 times to sort out various leaks, there were still minor leaks which we confirmed in an email to Edita - again no response from her. Leaks include: at the pump, at the water solar panels (which had to be replaced due to a poor batch), and the latest ones at the Clorinator Cell. Also, unions used have all been cross threaded. Poor communication This was a key thread throughout our experience as a client. We were never contacted if there were any delays, we always had to follow up on issues. Our experience with Edita (Personal Assistant to Mike) was unfortunately not great. After discussing all of the above with Edita telephonically and expressing the urgency it took more than a week for her to pass the details onto Mike. What is the point of a PA then? And when I followed up with Edita telephonically, she was exceptionally rude. In some of her own words in a sarcastic way: "ag shame, now your pool is green and you and your kids can't swim in it". This was one of those 'what just happened??' moments. Poor quality of overall work. Many of the components installed was not aligned properly - just overall bad quality of work. This is consistent with the above. Still waiting... As it stands they (Mike and Jean) promised to sort things out on Monday. I will feedback again on Monday evening. I really would not like anyone to go through the above and I trust that this review will help you reconsider using Poly Aqua Pools for your own pool installation. I wish someone warned us.

Despite phone calls and emails to their customer support, there are still items missing from our order which is marked as delivered but has not been delivered. We were therefore charged for items which we did not receive.

Their customer support is exceptionally poor (I dealt with a Cindy).

Please do not make use of their Online Shop - I gave them 2 chances and both failed.

Hi, have been having connection issues with our Wifibre line.

Logging a few support tickets = no response.
