I am so shocked and angry of how this pharmacy did to my Remedy medical aid for *****ulent claim. I received an email yesterday evening to say this pharmacy claim for medication of the amount R557.00 and that's was absolutely shocking for me as I am not aware of it and has nothing to do with me. I have exhausted my savings already in February and since then I have been buying my medication on cash in Kraaifontein or Panorama pharmacy. I've never been into this pharmacy and I don't know this claim and discovery approves it while I don't have any savings which is quit strange. Meaning POPI act is not in use our information is being exposed recklessly. For the fact the all Discovery members have this such ridiculous shocking claims on their medical aid is such a tremendous unprofessionalism

My parents was on remedi medical aid from about 1980. My dad workplace changed to discovery in 2000. My dad passed away in January. I want to take out a new medical aid for my mum now. Remedi can not give me a membership certificate for my mother. They say it is to long ago. They do not keep there records for so long. Now my mum need to pay an penalty of R380.00 extra every month. I can not believe this. I tried everything. NO LUCK at all with remedy.

This medical aid informed my partner that they will fully paid for her wheelchair from her benefit. The medical aid benefit is R14,000 and they only paid R190. They send a confirmation letter that the will pay the full amount of R9578.84 to the wheelchair provider. We battle since middle September to get a wheelchair through this medical aid. It is a nightmare to get hold of the people who can assist with the claim. The staff themselves can't even contact directly departments to solve queries. Really disappointed in this medical scheme.

I am beyond frustrated with how unfairly I have been treated by Remedi. My application was declined due to my BMI, but what the team fails to understand is that my breast size is the root cause of so many of my health issues – and it’s also a major factor affecting my BMI. I’ve lost 20kg this year through my own efforts, yet my breasts remain overly large and painful, causing severe discomfort on a daily basis. The weight of my breasts has left me with chronic back pain, shoulder inflammation from bra straps cutting into my skin, and difficulty sleeping or even standing with proper posture. How can Remedi ignore these significant health problems and only focus on BMI? I can’t even exercise properly because my chest makes it nearly impossible to move without discomfort. This blanket denial based on BMI alone is completely unfair and does not take into account the very real struggles people like me face every day. I am calling on Remedi to reevaluate their approach and take individual circumstances into account. It’s disappointing that a service meant to support our health is disregarding the core issues that impact our lives the most.

This company is not being ethical in their claims process. My out of hospital claim was approved after an extremely lengthy process via an Ex Gratia committee. I received a letter of approval from them, but when I sent the details for the claim to be paid out, I was told that the claim was not processed by the PPN. I resubmitted the documents requested, and was assured that it should be sorted out within a week. Only to find out later that they did not intend to pay. Upon follow up, I received a cold shoulder from the Escalations department telling me that the dates did not correlate and that the claim would not be paid. Upon asking for more information, I am being ignored. It appears that they are hiding behind inane bureaucracy to avoid paying out a claim that was approved. I received the approval in May, and it's many months later with still no clarity. I do not understand how they can blame the client and just refuse to pay, I have never misrepresented my case and have all the evidence to prove it. They are using stalling tactics and bureaucratic loopholes to avoid providing a promised service to the client. I am hoping someone could advise me on further action? Is this something I can appeal to the Ombudsman for?
