It's taken me many years to write this review, because the experience I had with the various family members involved in this company have left quite a mark on me. We were tenants in an apartment managed by this company, and these are some of our experiences; - There was a leak in the roof during the peak rainfall season in winter, and they were lacklustre in arranging the repair, so much so that we had water cascading down from the ceiling one evening, despite our requests that the roof be repaired. I called the owner of RL; Barry to have the repair expedited because of the damage being caused by the rainfall in bedroom, and proceeded to swear at me. - I informed the owner of the property of this unfortunate incident, and he intimated his experience with Residential Letting wasn't good, and took over the management of the property directly. - When we left, we received a commitment that our deposit would be repaid, which I have in writing, but the deposit was never reimbursed, they kept the money. I don't know how a company like this is allowed to continue to operate, given the number of tenant's who have noted that their deposits were not reimbursed. In short, our experience with this company was awful, so much so, that it has stuck with me over the years. There were other incidents involving the family who own and run this business, that were awful and I've not divulged but needless to say they are the kind of experiences that made me deeply uncomfortable, and caused much distress for both my wife and I. I would advise that anyone avoid doing business with this company at all costs, regardless of how cost effective their services may be, you will be better off for it.

As the other lady mentioned in the reviews for this letting company, DO NOT EVER CONSIDER ACCOMMODATION FROM THIS LETTING COMPANY.THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE OF THEIR TENANT, THEY DO NOT FOLLOW RENTAL HOUSING POLICY AND OBLIGATIONS AND THEY ARE ****MERS. YOU WILL KICK AND SCREAM BEFORE GETTING RESPONSE OR GETTING YOUR DEPOSIT BACK, IF YOU EVER EVEN GET IT BACK.

Hi, I'm renting a separate entrance from a Mr H,J Petersen at nr 2 Koegelenberg Street Klipkop Parow Valley, this premises has got a sewerage drain within the building which he never mentioned when I come to view the property also with the recent heavy rain we experienced the roof started to leak after informing him about the matter his response where be glad youve got a roof over your head, also they invade your space without you being around.and make use of the groceries, they have no respect for you as a tenant. I would not recommend anybody to ever rent from above mentioned person

Worst agency I've dealt with thus far. They take MONTHS to refund your deposit that you have to constantly follow up on, and after deducting more than half, they refuse to give you any information as to how the deduction is calculated. Shocking "service", honestly. Please have the common courtesy to at least reply to my email on where the money went, it's the least you can do.

The worst rental agency I've had to deal with. DO NOT USE THEM. We moved out at the end of Feb 2024. After numerous emails and phone calls that does not get responded to, we finally managed to get our deposit back 3 months after we moved out, on top of that they only returned half our deposit and they won't provide us with a reason as to why. These people are ******. STAY AWAY!!!

If you're searching for a place to stay in Cape Town and come across this agency (Residential Letting), run. The agent is unresponsive to tenants needs. I've been trying to contact this specific all week about an issue in my apartment through email and phone calls. I even tried his 'personal' number, but I haven't received a single reply but they sent me my invoice for the month. I've heard many negative things about this agent from other tenants and I honestly regret doing business with them. Please for your own sanity. Stay away. They are a bunch of ****mers.

If you're searching for a place to stay in Cape Town and come across this agency (Residential Letting), run. The agent is unresponsive to tenants needs. I've been trying to contact this specific all week about an issue in my apartment through email and phone calls. I even tried his 'personal' number, but I haven't received a single reply but they sent me my invoice for the month. I've heard many negative things about this agent from other tenants and I honestly regret doing business with them. Please for your own sanity. Stay away. They are a bunch of ****mers.

I've been waiting for over a month for my rental deposit to be refunded. My repeated emails and phonecall go unanswered. According to the agent, they need to repair 1(!!!) lightbulb before I can get refunded, and due to the Christmas period their contractors were not able to attend to the matter. It's been a month since Christmas! Most businesses opened up at least by the 11th January... still nothing! The service from my agent has been shocking! I would not recommend renting from them. This is just the last straw in a number of other inconveniences I have just had to endure!

I've been waiting for over a month for my rental deposit to be refunded. My repeated emails and phonecall go unanswered. According to the agent, they need to repair 1(!!!) lightbulb before I can get refunded, and due to the Christmas period their contractors were not able to attend to the matter. This agency is very disappointing. When we moved in, the flat was in terrible condition and it was only fixed 3 months after moving in. When our tap broke, we waited 3 weeks for it to be fixed. When we received an invalid parking fine, we waited 2 months for it to be cleared from our name, and ended up having to pay it because they could not remove it. We have moved out on August 2022 and we are still waiting on the deposit refund. The contract clearly states 7 days after the out inspection and its been 20 days. I'm not getting any feedback from the agent and wait 3-4 days for an email reply and each times I get told the deposit will take another week or two. It is extremely frustrating! Hopefully never have to deal with them again!
