DISGUST/SCANDALISE
I decided to book a last minute break away for 2023. payment was done online and money taken from my bank account. on arrival, Leonard the caretaker was uncomfortable as he had no accommodation available for us (2 bedroom, sleeping 4), but showed us the room that was advertised on booking.com anyway. This establishment is NOTHING as advertised. from blood stained bedding, to molud in the bathrooms, dirty toilet, and definitely not a 2 bedroom. the mountain view mentioned, might be visible if you get onto the roof. The braai facility is in shambles, not a functioning braai in sight. The pool area is an empty jacuzzi, when we asked about it, we were told that they can fill it up but is to functioning as we can use that as a swimming pool. This establishment is rated 4 stars. I have all the photos to prove the disgusting state of this place. my next stop in department of tourism. It's a pity i cannot post the photos and video here for all to see

I'VE BEEN SCAMMED WITH FALSE ADVERTISING
We arrìved at Shalamanzi just after 14h00 on 24 September 2021. We were not happy!! At about 15h30 we packed the car and gave the key to Leonard the caretaker. As per his request I wrote that we cancelled our accommodation a hour and a half after booking in. 1 : We did not get the room that was booked(we were booked in a room with a shower and we got a room with a bath with a hand shower) I have Parkinson's decease and cannot get into a bath!! 2 : The plugs are so filthy I did not dare to touch it!! Had to ask for a extension cord in order to use the fan.. 3 : Had to wipe the cupboards inside before packing our clothes in it 4 : There were ****roach droppings in the cupboards, on the counter, on the fridge 5 : Pillows on the bed were smelly. Filthy when pulling pillowcases away. 6 : We pulled back the bedding and the sheet on the mattress had stains that were like stuff that had dried. There were a lot of little black thingies between the sheets...dead bedbugs or bug ****?!! We are so disappointed!! For these reasons I requested my money to be refunded !! The owner of Shalamanzi Lodge in Hartebee****rtdam refuses to refund the money I paid... I feel that this is not fair to me!!! I want people to be careful of this place and owner. I FEEL AS IF I'VE BEEN SCAMMED!!!

TOTAL AND UTTER DISGUST.......
What did I like.....nothing I liked nothing, this was the worst experience in a B&B in all my life I will never recommend this "lodge" PHA!!!! to any body in my life ever..... I will make it my life's work to save people form having to stay here....... the review says 1.... I rate it -5 Disliked · Everything, I hated everything. the welcome, the on site manager was standing outside smoking in jeans and a t shirt... the room was not the room i booked, no bath, just a shower, with a broken shower head..... there was no "mountain view" as was stated on my booking confirmation, i requested flower pedals..... which they agreed to and I quote, "We are pleased to let you know that the accommodation has confirmed they will be able to arrange this for you. There will be no extra charge for this request." This is not even a one star rated lodge....... there is no WIFI.... as per the grading council there was only 3 channel..... dirty stained sheets and torn sheets...... not to mention a foreign hair on one of the towels...... and in the bed....... excuse me i'm going to be sick..... again.... :O= Dirty wine glasses..... dirty glasses...... dirty coffee cups....... and its not like i could wash them, because the wash cloth and scourer sponge is a toxic waste hazard... sorry i need to vomit again, just thinking about it....... and its not like we could have left...... as we had nowhere to go....... I was so outraged I was unable to enjoy my break away..... I feel a refund and apology is in order.....

False advertising
This place is terrible, the owner of the place is so RUDE. The place is so dirty. When we got to the reception we were so shocked, the reception is a dark place with no lights, when we were taken to our room the furniture inside the room is so old, there were insects (big spider and small flying insects ) in the room. This really shows that the room was not cleaned we had to go to the mall and buy our own cleaning material. The Jacuzzi was so dirty. The place did not have water and we were not notified about that. The bed were so old you could fell the spring of the bed when sleeping it was not comfortable at all. This place is false advertising. This place deserve a -10 rating.
