That Medical Center needs to decide if they want to render service to Africans too. The disrespect towards Blacks from the Receptionists there is sickening. The Reception area would be empty with Doctors roaming in corridors around 9am but because you Black you get turned to away by them saying all Doctors are fully booked and the next available appointment is at 17:00 knowing very well the Practice closes at around that time.

Extremely bad service by the receptionist she insist i must tell her whats my medical condition then she will speak to one of the doctors and then they will decide if they can help me or not, Since when does a receptionist have to know what my medical condition is? What about patients rights? She is not a doctor . She is very rude and sarcastic . I will never go there again This place does not care about medical a receptionist does not have the right to know what my condition is !!! I will take this to the medical board also

The accounts, reception, and practice managers are highly unprofessional, unpleasant, and extremely rude. The last time I took my elderly mom (74), they upset her so much over R50 that was outstanding on her account which she didn't know about that she was historically crying when she went to see the Dr. The practice manager banned my parents from the practice with immediate affect because I told her she is unprofessional and rude, breaking several ethical and moral guidelines as set out by the Health Professions Council of South Africa. The Drs however are some of the most caring and wonderful Drs you will find in the area.

The accounts, reception, and practice managers are highly unprofessional, unpleasant, and extremely rude. THE RECEPTIONIST IS RUDE AND ******!!! She should be fired! She cannot work and help black people. Today was my second time going to South Lake Medical Centre and returning without the help I need. It’s like she’s doing me a favour and telling me that the doctors are busy. SAME GOES FOR THE LADY WHO WORKS AT THE PHARMACY. I’m changing my primary doctor, I don’t even understand why Medical Aids still work with this Medical Centre!

It hadn't been my first time at Southlake but it was my first time dealing with an old ****** Dr. She did not let me finish speaking & said that theres nothing she can do and forced me to leave. I guess it's just a business for some people who are reduced to dealing with people of colour.

I Tried to forget about the experience but i can not and i feel i need to share the experience to warn other people. i visited the practice in 2022 and came in about 5 min before my scheduled time for the doctor. As my son that has microtia had ear infection and flu he was feeling horrible. Microtia in one ear means he can not hear at all. it was myself, my wife, her brother and my 3 kids. The little one was on and off the couch and was difficult, but i tried to manage it the best i can, how do you explain to a deaf toddler to stop and sit still when they are sick? The receptionist was getting more and more inpatient with us. On a previous occasion i was also at the practice on a Saturday to enquire if they can help me around ten, and in front of all the patients she screamed at me saying that they have lives and families to go to and cant sit there the whole day. anyway we finished at the dr and got our meds and left. The next day i got a call from the practice manager stating we should watch our language when we are there and control our kids, our behavior's is unacceptable. Now i am sitting there with my 3 kids, why would i sit and swear and a doctors room, secondly my kid did climb on and off the couches as he was niggly. i am still so shocked about that women and the way the manager spoke to me i have not been back since. Please WARN all that the receptionist doesnt like kids their fore dont bring kids and make sure you come at a time that suits her.

We have sent several requests to their accounts department for a new invoice. They have not responded and handed us over to LexMed. From their reviews i see there is many people with accounting problems at SouthMed.

Very seldom is a visit to the doctor a pleasure, but visiting Southlake was pure pleasure. Excellent doctors, friendly receptions staff and pleasant surroundings. Thank you Southlake Medical Centre.
