Based on recent customer reviews, Tekkie Town faces serious challenges across most service themes. Customers describe widespread frustration with online order fulfilment, unresponsive support channels, and in-store staff attitudes. Refund and return processes are frequently described as adversarial and non-compliant. Product durability complaints are common, particularly around shoes failing soon after purchase. A handful of positive in-store encounters with named staff stand out as exceptions.
The most common complaint about Tekkie Town, based on Hellopeter's AI analysis of recent customer reviews, is Delivery, Fulfilment & Logistics. Online orders routinely fail to arrive within stated windows, with parcels misrouted to wrong provinces, marked delivered when not received, and tracking systems showing inaccurate information. Couriers like Aramex and JDEX are repeatedly blamed, and customers chase orders for weeks with no resolution.

I am actually flabbergasted as I write this complaint about Tekkie Town Alberton City, what a dismal store with a dismal store manager and Area Manager who both have no customer service training what so ever. I bought a shoe last weekend at R400, at the till it was rang up as R350 and when I got home there was another tag on the shoe for R250, I sent the shoe back on Sunday and told them I wanted the Shoe with this correct price that is on the shoe itself, the refund process was dismal since I paid using pay just now, the store fumbled the refund then took my details and told me to leave the shoe they will phone me back and I also confirmed that I will also phone should the refund reflect in my pay just now wallet. I kept checking my pay just now wallet and nothing came through, I phoned the store on Wednesday since they did not bother to phone me.... Needless to say when I phoned I discovered that the girl that helped me dismally on Sunday was also the store manager, she was rude to the core I had to ask for her area manager Dennis Mkhonto who confirmed that Lerato was a dismal manager but unfortunately he found her at the store, he promised to assist me till my query was resolved but he kept making excuses claiming that they are not fami**** with pay just now which I responded that it was their responsibility to fami****ise themselves with this app since it's something they used at the store, he promised to phone me back in 30 minutes which he didn't and only phoned me later in the day and told me that they will continue to investigate so I get assisted.... Then nothing from there. Today it's Friday and neither him or the store manager have contacted me since so I sent him a message asking him why I have not been contacted till now, he phoned me and told me that I need to handle this myself because they don't have the know how of pay just now so I must just see to finish which I responded that now I see where Lerato gets her customer service from and he told me he is now insulted and he is going to hang up on me which he did.... WOW 😲.... I am shocked... I messaged him and told him that I will not leave this matter... Personally I hate incompetence when we have such high unemployment rate in SA and there are people who are just seat warmers and can tell clients where to shove off... It's beyond unacceptable. I lodged a complaint on Google Maps and tekkie town responded to say I must leave my details and they will contact me... Which no one has contacted me yet... I take it this is the level of service they provide to the customers hence their management is beyond rotten... salary collectors and nothing more. It was my first time buying from them and definitely the last.

I visited the Teekie Town store at Red Mall today to make a payment and enquire about my account. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received. Firstly, my credit facilities were blocked on the account, and I was told that I failed security questions. However, I did not make any call to them, so I am unsure which security questions were failed or how this happened. I then requested the staff to check the last payment on the system, but the consultant advised that she was unable to assist with this. I also asked to speak to the call centre, but I was told that they do not have a call centre available. This experience was frustrating and unhelpful. It is concerning that basic account enquiries cannot be handled, and that there is no clear support available to assist customers.

Uiterse swak diens. Nooit die regte grote skoene in voorraad. Wag nou meer as 8 maande.

Online service is terrible. They use unreliable courier service. They don't have contact details of the courier service either.

I placed an online order on 15 April 2026 and as of 6 May 2026 I still have not received my parcel. The experience has been a complete disaster from both a logistics and customer service perspective. The parcel was somehow sent to the wrong province (KwaZulu-Natal), despite my delivery details being correct. Delivery was attempted twice at the wrong address in the wrong province, yet customer service kept telling me they were “waiting for feedback from the courier” for days. What makes this worse is that while they claimed they had no update, the courier contacted me directly asking for my apartment number because they were actively trying to deliver the parcel in KZN. So clearly nobody at Tekkie Town actually knows where customer parcels are. I have escalated this matter multiple times through customer service and corporate channels and nobody has bothered to respond meaningfully. No accountability, no urgency, no proper communication, and no resolution. At this point, customers are simply being left to chase their own parcels while receiving generic responses and empty promises. This level of incompetence and poor after-sales service is completely unacceptable for a national retailer. I will now be escalating this matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud.
