After trying to call to make sure their Saturday hours and getting no one to pick the the phone up we decided to drive to AACL Epping because Google gave their hours as closing at 1130am. The idea, surrender 9 kittens and their mothers because we could not afford to keep them. We arrived at 1040am to be told we closed early today! Needless to say the trauma my kids who helped me with the cats they love, suffered because of AACL Epping closing early!

Called the AACL on Thursday at 09:00 15/012026 regarding our small Pekinese who had a very bad abscess that was oozing badly. They told us to please come on Friday 16/01/2026 and to be there by 08:30. On arrival we were told sorry they are fully booked as they opened at 07:30, but they do not do bookings anyway, and by the way she can recommend other places we could take our pet. Though they cater for the pensioners and underprivileged to sent to another veternarian we cannot afford. The receptions told us she would ask the doctor if he would see our pet, but assured us that he would not because he was extremely busy. She then said we can bring our pet tomorrow Saturday 17/01/2026 but could assure us that we would be able to see the vet on this day either. They are suppose to be open until 16:30 and on arrival at 08:30 told that sorry they cannot see anymore pets, not that there were a lot of people waiting. Really great service turning people away. They also charge an arm and leg for their services, because the SPCA do not have Vets on site to see your animal anymore.

Honestly so disappointed they claim to protect animals as well as their well being but that doesn't seem to be true. My puppy got sick and refused to eat his food the night before(Friday night) Saturday morning we decided to take him to aacl regents park as we thought they would be the best to help but what do we get them telling us they cannot open new client files on a weekend we then explained to them what is going on with our puppy and that it is possibly an emergency then we were told to visit another vet to get medication to assist until they can help us on Monday only. And from there our puppy has just grown weaker and might not make it through the night is this their way of helping animals. Yet they are quick to want to go for people who neglect their animals and leave them critical yet what are they doing... Makes me think if this is the case with everyone that is new to aacl, so they basically implying that your pet can only have an emergency Monday to Friday otherwise they can't help MAKES NO SENSE!!!

Is it fair to wait so long just for the vet to see to your pet. My husband and daughter has been waiting for over 2 and a half hours already. My dog is very bloated and yet, they make them wait. I am truly appalled! Yet they want payment for their bad service

Me and my family are so heartbroken because I took our cat to give up for adoption to find a better environment coz by us it's bit small. They promised and their policy states they will first look for family but the same day they put our cat down and I've seen on other reviews people say the similar problem happened. The old women who works with the adoption has got a very bad attitude towards pet owners. For an Anti-Cruelty it seems very CRUEL.

Disappointed is an understatement. After numerous advice from people and reviews read, "DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE, ESPECIALLY A PITBULL, YOUR DOG IS GONNA DIE" I still decided to give AACL EPPING the benefit of a doubt because its an organization that suppose to actually assisting and protecting the health and wellbeing of animals, but to my surprise it was exactly what people warned me about. On Saturday morning I noticed my 4month old Pitbull puppy hasn't eaten her previous evening's food and her eyes had a yellow discoloration, she was still being her energetic self , but her not eating was concerning as she has a healthy appetite, so I decided to take her to AACL Epping to have her check out, after 4 hours of waiting I finally got seen by the Vet who did not even inspect my dog and just put her on a drip and gave 5 injections and some medication for me to take home and said the dog has Parvo-virus, to which I said I do not think its Parvo-virus as these weren't symptoms of Parvo but he insisted, after getting home i noticed my puppy being much weaker than before she saw the Vet but I thought it is because of the drip she was on. The following day she was even worst then the previous day and I took her back , after another few hours of waiting I got to she a different Vet , who actually took the time to inspect my puppy and found that it was not Parvo at all and that the puppy actually had a infection which could have been treated properly if she was not misdiagnosed the first time around, They just put her back on a drip and another 5 injections and sent us home, by the following morning my puppy was dead, lots of time and money wasted because of the incompetency of someone that should've helped my puppy but didn't even take the time to properly inspect her and just because it was Pitbull she was misdiagnosed with Parvo-virus.Very unprofessional to say the least. I am so close to reporting this matter to a newspaper to get so media coverage on this unprofessionalism happening at AACL.

Yesterday this institution failed me badly. The whole ordeal was just disgusting. My kitten of 3 months old was in critical condition. This place was recommended to me by a top rated vet. So I called the receptionist and at 3pm asking if they'd wait for me because I'm coming all the way from Mitchell's Plain. The lady on the phone assured me that they do close at 3:30pm but they leave at 4pm. She said that the security at the gate would assess if it was an emergency and let me in. I got to the vet at 3:45pm and I told the security that I was just on the phone with the receptionist and she told me I'd get helped. He went inside and said they won't help me because they are closed. I stood in the scorching heat with my dying kitten waiting for someone to come and help me. But nobody ever did. I asked the security if he could tell the ladies inside that it was an emergency and he responded by saying "why didn't you tell me this earlier" and continued to be on his phone. I then told him that the receptionist said that he would assess if it was an emergency and let me in and he then responded by saying that he doesn't get to decide who's an emergency or not. He was rude and had an attitude. I stood outside of the gates for 30 minutes hoping to be helped. More than 6 cars drove past me. He allowed them access but wouldn't let me in to even just speak to the people inside. I then called to them inside and nobody answered my calls twice. I gave up and went home. So my conclusion of this place is that anybody can get hired here. The people that are hired aren't pet friendly or genuine animal *****s (I'm sure this is a requirement to get hired by them) , because if they had these characteristics, I would've been helped yesterday. Animal Anti Cruelty should be renamed to animal Cruelty. The name doesn't match the service. Your staff is **** and there's no real desire to save animals. You should be boycotted. In future, I suggest you hire people with a real passion for animals since your staff really couldn't care less. Nobody will be able to fill the void that I lost yesterday. I'm now left with a bad memory of my kitten dying in my arms knowing I was promised help.
