Disappointed with “Pet-Friendly” Experience at The big red barn I visited The big red barn today because it is advertised as a pet-friendly venue, but my experience was anything but welcoming. My dog barked occasionally—something completely natural in an outdoor setting—yet another guest complained, and instead of addressing the situation fairly, we were asked to leave. If a venue claims to be pet-friendly, it should accommodate normal pet behavior or at least have clear policies about expectations. Being asked to leave simply because my dog barked is unacceptable and misleading to pet owners who expect a welcoming space. I

I’m so ****ed as I type this,What nonsense??Today was my son’s 13th birthday and it turned out sour!Where do I start because I can’t even pick one good thing from the big Red Barn it’s surely Red for danger I guess. Before hand I went to view the place and I spoke to the manager responsible for the booking of venues,it was nice until we had to go for our event. We took his suggestions,he suggested platters that I’m rating a whole 0 without even thinking twice, the platters were not accurate to the number of servings they suggested, the food was awful!!,what we even ordered in the restaurant was not any better, not seasoned and dry,we started with wings and had pizza, tried burger ,tried ribs and it got worse by each order, burnt ribs ,very dry food.Lets talk of flies,I understand the area is located by the bush but I feel the staff can get candles at least to minimise that 😭.We hired a jumping castle and we were being disrespected by other clients when at our cost and we frequently had to go down to explain as the staff was probably busy to check up on us.The worst part was the castle was deflated before we were consulted and the kids were even going there and we all know how unsafe that is. Service very bad Food very very bad I am a dissatisfied client. One of the managers even said I hear you when all I was complaining about all this,no apology nothing 🙌🏻

Wanted to go for quick bite to eat. I sat at the table for ten minutes and not a single waiter came to help me, and there were about ten waiters standing less than two meters from me, not busy at all. Don’t think I will be visiting the barn again.

So apparently one has to wait almost an hour for service! Then the food tastes horrible! “Sorry we didn’t take cash” ????? Then the owner/manager has an attitude? And I must apologise because I pay with cash. Wors t experience ever. If you want to eat at the TBRB please don’t!!!!

We had an awful experience at the Big Red Barn this morning. There are electronic go karts from NINO’S ADVENTURES. They charge R150 per child (which is DAYLIGHT ROBBERY) for a 10min ride on the karts. There are buttons on the kart that makes car noises and my son (4years old) accidentally pressed the wrong button which switched the kart off. He was only 2min in which means he had 8mins left. The lady who manage the kart rides simply told us that the ride is over and if he want to continue we have to pay R150 again for a new token! She even had the audacity to raise her voice at my son telling him it is his fault and he wasn’t supposed to press the button. At this point it wasn’t even about the money anymore but personal. This woman refused to give a new token because of an honest mistake, she raised her voice at my son, she even had a bad attitude towards me and my husband. There is no management skills, and a lack of handling issues professionally. What is worse, the owner of Nino’s Adventure refuse to give his/her number (they even scratched the number out on the business card) because oft the number of complaints. We as a family will never visit The Big Red Barn again. If you care about you customers you will not allow organisations like Nino’s Adventures on your premises who blatantly rob people. The fact that The Big Red Barn is aware of all the complaints and have not done anything about this is shocking.
