The worst hotel stay and food, I feel like the owners don't have respect for the clients, otherwise they would not serve the meals that they do. From breakfast to desert, is a mess. Cleanliness of the rooms is also questionable.

Their cancellation policy does not take into account weather conditions on the day of the booking. I had to cancel a picnic by the pool due to heavy rains on the day of the picnic but I forfeited my payment because I cancelled on the day. So unreasonable and inconsiderate! What a bad service.

I stayed at The Blades hotel in November. Cleaning Staff help themselves with guest items without their consent. Disappointingly, managers who supposed to assist guest when such incidents transpire, do not seem to care or show emphathy. Stay away from this place. By the way is far away from a 4 star. Flies every where including guests food. Hotel's dam green with algea reeking of sewerage! Terrible experience!

Our wedding was held at The Blades on the 20 October 2017. I can honestly say that my dream day was perfect, the staff were willing to go out of the way to assist, I had minimal stress as i knew my big day was in capable hands. From the first visit to the morning of check out everything was amazing. Thank you to everyone at The Blades for everything, however a special thanks must go out to Larissa Greyling the wedding coordinator, without you the most magical day of my life would not be possible. Thank you all for the outstanding service.

Arrived for lunch, and sat on the deck next to the river to enjoy the view, and waited about 30mins for a waiter. Eventually we had to go find one that would be willing to help us. He then told us that we cant sit on the deck, as it has been booked out by another party. Even though they were more than willing to accept our R3000 for the room for the night, we were now unable to enjoy the facilities. We left it there as we didnt want to cause a scene and went to sit inside. Long story short, the lunch service was terrible. When we got to our room, the toilet couldnt flush. The bridespair's room (Executive suite) where the bride got ready for the wedding, was not cleaned, and they got back to a honeymoon suite filled with plates and dirty and messy. The next morning the breakfast service was also a complete disaster where NOTHING was organised. We ended up having to eat cold breakfast. We then found foreign objects in the eggs, and at this point complained to the manager. He told us that whatever black plastic we found in the eggs it is not harmful or dangerous, so its not a problem. He also had an attitude of \just too bad"about all the other complaints. """

i just want to express my unhappiness regarding the treatment we received on Saturday from a guy named Vaugh at The Blades.

Me and you agreed that we can stay at the pool area beyond 6pm provided we put down the music or switch it off if the residents complained.
There was no complains and we were not noisy as we were not a big group. Vaugh walked up to us at 6:05 and told our DJ to switch off the music and he told the bar man to close the bar. i tried to reason with him but he insisted that we paid for the venue until 6pm,, He didn't even warn us so the our guests can order the last round of drinks.

On top of that, we were forced to eat in a hurry because he was worried about the rain, which only lightly rained for 15 minutes and some of our guests who arrived late were refused food and told to order from the restaurant menu, because he already took the food away without even consulting us. Which was very unfair considering we paid so much money to entertain our guests.

My partner and I checked in at 19:30, we were advised that the kitchen closed at 20:30 so we rushed dropped our bags off in the Room 24 and returned to the restaurant. Upon on arrival at the restaurant there was no one to set us, so we randomly chose a table that had been set. The waiter eventually decided to take our order, we requested Steak and Chips.. When the steak arrived, it was over cooked as we specified that it should be Medium Rare, it was well done. We then sent this back, waited another additional 20 minutes for the food to arrive, which was better than the first batch we ordered. During our meal the electricity shut off, supposedly cause of load shedding so here we are sitting in complete darkness waiting for the Generator to kick in. After about 4 minutes the lights went back on. We then paid the bill and decided to go the room and relax. When we arrived at the room it was pitch dark, we couldn't even see the steps to the rooms. Luckily we had a torch in the vehicle. When we opened the door we discovered there was no electricity in the room, We tried to contact reception but the emergency numbers provided did not work. We requested a refund, but was declined
