My father recently purchased an expensive woolen jacket overseas and took it to the Eastgate Shopping Centre branch for a dry clean. After an experience at another dry cleaner, he was hesitant already, and therefore really emphasized the importance of taking good care of his jacket while showing her the jacket (and a 2-piece suit that needed dry cleaning too). Upon collection of the jacket and the suit, he discovered that the jacket had shrunk extensively (to fit a 10-year-old perhaps) and the woolen thread had frayed, making look like an old jacket, and the lining was in tatters. This, we had later been told, was indicative of it being washed in water. The lining of the two-piece suit jacket was also torn in a few places but fortunately that was not visible from the outside and could be fixed. The employee that he dealt with upon collection of the clothing, was most unhelpful and rude, and didn't seem to be aware of the processes involved in dry cleaning and could offer no suggestions or help. She eventually said that they would try fix it but there was no improvement and it was more of a patch-up job and the jacket is completely unwearable. My father would therefore most definitely, not recommend the store to dry clean your clothes. Seeing as they have had two-chances to get the job done effectively, my father will not be giving them a third. We would recommend that management refer to his staff regarding the processes and control mechanisms that should be instilled in the business to ensure that something like this would not happen again.

I have written previously regarding The Cleaning Brothers. I took in a pair of shoes to them. The sole parted a day after the repair.I took the shoes in to be repaired, again. A fortnight, or so, has passed, and the problem has occured again. The sole has parted, a second time. Damn, professional standards may exist, elsewhere. I thus give the business a zero star rating.

I took in a pair of shoes to their depot so as to replace the full sole. I was provided a quotation before the repair was conducted, which makes sense. The workmanship on the repair, which I had agreed to was shoddy, and thus within a day of wearing the shoes I had to return them to be repaired, again. From the time I first took ownership of the shoes, and thus before the repaired shoes(full soles) began to seperate, and had to be returned, I took a second pair of shoes in to be resoled. So a few days passed and eventually I was provided with a quotation, via sms for the second pair of shoes. That was on a Friday late afternoon. On the morning of the following Monday I notified them, via sms, that the first pair, which I had agreed to the repair, includind the second pair, which I stated must NOT be repaired, be returned to their depot, so as to be collected. I smsed the person I had been in contact with on a few occasions stating that I did not want the second pair of shoes repaired. That was the form of interaction that was taking place. On visiting the depot days later I noticed that the 1st pair of shoes had not been re-repaired, yet the second pair had been repaired. So in essence the Cleaning Brothers repair product without the consent of the customer and expect to be payed. Attempts to leave messages are never returned. The excuse is we cant reach you. Clearly had I known that their service, and workmandship, is not up to standard, I would effectively not have taken my second pair of shoes in, for a sole replacement. Extremely poor service!

I asked the Melrose Arch branch to clean a structured Michael Kors handbag in March 2020 - just prior to lockdown. On collection of the bag, it became evident that the cleaning had ruined the shape and left the leather wrinkled and the structure was completely squashed. They attempted to fix it, but the bag is still out of shape and has never been the same. I have emailed the company asking for help multiple times and received no reply. Terrible service. I do not recommend using this company for anything.

Horrific! I am absolutely appalled at the service. I gave the store a few garments 3 days ago (AND paid upfront) and was promised that the tailor will have it ready by Friday (in time before I leave for my holiday on Sunday). I arrived on Saturday morning to collect the garments, only to be told that the tailor had not even started!!! I was then promised that my garments would be delivered to my house before the end of the day, which they were not. Possibilly the worst dry cleaning and tailor service in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg!!! Totally unrealible and unprofessional.

I dropped off a few pairs of shoes to have heel tips replaced on Saturday. the gentleman I was dealing with was helpful. I indicated I would collect on sunday, I was unable to and Monday on my way from work I called, the lady answered said they were closed but I should come Tuesday at 8am when they open. I arrived and the shop was closed. I waited for 40minutes before they came. I opted to wait as I was leaving for cpt and needed the shoes. I was waiting with the guy who fixed my shoes as he didn't have a key to the shop. when Maureen finally arrived I went in with the shoe guy and quickly got my shoes and paid him and then started to rush out as I was late. at the door Maureen blocks me from exiting and says wheres your slip, which the shoe guy had, she then demands to know if I paid, I thought this was very rude as I had never dealt with her, and how can I leave the shop without paying. I was very disturbed by this and the fact that they only rocked up 40 minutes after the time, and no one apologised instead she mumbled something about the bus. very unprofessional, very rude, and they clearly don't trust the guy who does the shoes. BRAND FAIL
