We are absolute supper fans of Hennie’s George and truly believe in giving credit where it’s due. My boyfriend, Enrique da Silva, would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the amazing managers, Almarie and Angelique. They went completely out of their way to assist him by copying his licence so he could send it through to Graaff-Reinet regarding a fine. This was not something they had to do, but they stepped in without hesitation. Their service is always friendly, welcoming, and genuinely wonderful—it’s this kind of care and willingness to help that keeps us coming back time and time again. On a lighter note, Enrique also has a Bull Terrier that closely resembles the Hennie dog, and he would love to know if his dog could perhaps feature on their “retainer” photo wall one day! Thank you again for consistently great service—we truly appreciate it.

2026-03-12, I’m really torn with this review because our waitress at Hennies Hartenbos, was absolutely fantastic—she did her best to look after us. However, the kitchen service was extremely poor and honestly ruined the meal for our group. We were a party spanning three tables, and the timing of the food was a mess. Some people in our group were completely finished eating while others were still sitting and waiting for their meals to even arrive. What made it even more frustrating was the complete lack of communication from management. We weren't given any updates or explanations while we waited. While the atmosphere at Hennie's is usually great, the lack of coordination between the kitchen and the floor was a huge letdown this time. Huge thanks again to our waitress for trying her best, but the kitchen and management really need to step up their game.

WHAT A ********** EXPERIENCE I HAD AT THE WITBANK BRANCH.. I HAVE NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE BEEN AT ANY HENNIES STORES BEFORE !!!!! YES, I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS INVITES TO GO THERE... AT THE VAAL, AT WATERKLOOF, WHERE I HAVE BEEN RESIDING FOR OVER 30 YEARS. SO I WENT TO THE WITBANK BRANCH, OVER THE WEEKEND, WHICH WAS THE FIRST TIME, AND WILL DEFINATLY BE THE LAST TIME, I EVER SET FOOT IN ANY HENNIES AGAIN IN MY LIFE. FIRSTLY, WE WERE TOLD OF THE RULES... THEN WE PLACED AN ORDER FOR DRINKS AND FOOD. WE WAITED NEARLY 45 MINUTES FOR MY FOOD TO ARRIVE.... THEN THEY BROUGHT THE FOOD FOR MY DAUGHTER FIRST... WHICH SHE DID EAT THE FOOD... THEN MY DAUGHTER ATE HER FOOD WHILE WE WERE STILL WAITING FOR OUR FOOD. THIS TOOK SO LONG.. Hennies Kimberley must just close their doors. Started well, but now it's just a joke. Service is pathetic. Waiting period for food is ridiculous.. whether it's busy or not. Managers sit on their phones in the office whilst clients wait 30min for milkshakes and an hour for slider burgers.

I took my autistic daughter to Hennies Paarl for a birthday meal, she in particularly wanted to go there due to a specific dessert. I told the waitress it was her birthday (she turned 13) and the waitress joked she would've given her a shooter had she been the legal age. A little later I ordered a "melktertjie" shooter, and had my intelligence tested by first asking who it was for before she ordered it for me!!!!!!!!! Who in there right mind would order their minor child a shooter? I order a chicken schnitzel , which left much to be desired, my daughter order a pizza, my food came first and she had to wait for her pizza, which made me wait to eat and in the end I ate the schnitzel cold. Once we were finished with our meal, I wanted to order my daughter the dessert that she has so anxiously been waiting for, however our waitress were no where in sight. Eventually another waitress came along and took the order, when I asked where our waitress is, she said she is attending to another table, even had the audacity to call it "team work", well, I don't know which team work, because our waitress came from an area next to the bar, which does not have any tables. Furthermore, the restaurant was not busy at all. I then requested that the dessert is cancelled, when I was told I can't because it is already on the system and will be ready shortly. This is when I asked to speak to a manager, I explained the whole event to her, to which she apologized and then mentioned the dessert has been standing there in the kitchen for some time. The order for this was luckily cancelled and I did not have to pay for it. If the automatic tip was not included on the bill I would not have given any. It is bad enough to give such poor service, even more so to a special needs child. This use to be one of our favourite restaurants in Paarl, will most certainly NOT go there again.

Poor service and long waiting times I’ve visited Hennies Middelburg and Hennies Witbank, and both experiences were disappointing. Service was slow and unorganised, with very long waiting times for food even on days when there were only a few customers. There was little communication or apology from staff. Definitely needs serious improvement.

I would like to formally express my disappointment and concern regarding an incident that occurred at Hennies Middelburg on the 9th of November. After my nephew’s birthday party, it was discovered that his shoes were missing. We have reviewed the security footage, which clearly shows that we did not leave with the shoes. The shoes were left in the kids’ playroom, and it appears that an employee took them without permission. This behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I expect prompt action to be taken regarding this matter, and I would appreciate an explanation of how this incident will be addressed. Such conduct damages the trust and reputation of your establishment. Thank you for your attention to this serious issue.

I absolutely love hennies but the fact that they have a 500g eisbein and 1 kg but it is not even that weight raw and then cooked its even less. So what happened is we ordered 1x1kg eisbein thinking it would be a good proper size but the thing came their the size of the chips bowl thingy they have we asked the waiter if it is the 1 kg thinking they maybe made a mistake we asked them to bring as the 500g then so that we can compare the manager brought 2 pieces of raw eisbein about the same size so we said it looks the same we want a 500g cooked one he then asked if they should weigh it they weighed it raw and cooked the raw pieces wasn't even 500g and 1 kg as they said and then the said you will never get 1 kg because of their "supplier" but it is not fair to charge me 1 kg eisbein if it weighs 700g with the price being R200 not fair
