Kobus, ek moet vir jou se.....Ek is ongelooflik dankbaar vir nie net die diens nie maar die kwaliteit van die vleis, die smaak en hul werk etiket was uit die boonster rakke. My gaste was in totale skok...Die nagereg, yissou man, was lekker. Ek kan niks fout vind nie en soos ek gese het, jy gaan sommer lekker besig wees. Baie dankie vir alles.

I really don't like doing this but I have given Kobus (owner of Thyme Kitchen) 2 opportunities to respond to my emails over the last 2 months and still nothing. He was however very quick to respond to quoting and invoicing. For starters, their website shows that they have had 182 reviews and ALL 182 people have given them 5 star ratings. This is impossible for any business not to have a few lower ratings. So, I went and gave them a 1 star rating. Needless to say, my review was either never recognized or it was deleted. I am sure there are some legal implications about such misrepresentation. My issues were simple: - Insufficient food, cutlery and crockery was sent. I was assured that their would be left overs. - there was one small garlic roll (size of a hotdog roll) to be shared by 2 people -they just left the food on a table in the cold breeze outside and went off to another more important function. The food was cold, fatty and unenjoyable. The fact that the owner could not be bothered to apologies or even respond to my emails is simply inexcusable. There are many spit braai companies out there. I suggest you choose one of those rather than have these guys compromise your special occasion.

Terrible experience. Booked a spitbraai and after paying the deposit - nothing. Many attempts to contact Kobus via email, Facebook, website, phone messages - no response. Every attempt has been ignored yet I still receive spam emails from them. Will open a case of theft as that is what this is. Avoid them at all cost.

So I'm not the type of person to name and shame but sadly Kobus Coetzee from THYMEkitchen Spit Braai Cape Town you have left me with no choice! I emailed Thyme Kitchen on the 17th of December to book a spit braai delivery (birthday dinner) for Sean for the 6th of Jan. I received an almost immediate response from Kobus. Half an hour later my booking was confirmed and I was told I could go ahead and pay the 50% deposit to confirm it all. Deposit paid. As they require full payment upfront, the final amount was paid on the 4th of Jan, totalling an amount of R2345. After the Presidents first announcement of raised restriction levels, I emailed Kobus and asked if I could postpone the dinner delivery to 16th of Jan. In the same email I asked that if lockdown was extended past the 15th of Jan and I still couldn't have my family over, what would the cancellation policy be in this instance? I received an email the next morning confirming my booking had been changed but no mention of my other query. Straight after the Presidents announcement on the 11th of Jan, I emailed Kobus to cancel due to lockdown restrictions and sent my banking details. 3 days later I received an email saying he couldn't do my refund because he was waiting on funds and my credit was sitting with Fairfield Meat Market. And as per their t&c's they don't offer refunds so I could either give him a few days or postpone my function. So I told him I would wait. So here's my problem...I'M STILL WAITING KOBUS? Since the 14th of Jan I have sent 4 friendly emails and a whatsapp and I'm being completely ignored. Kobus, you say you don't offer refunds but in the very first email you sent me it says "remember we are 100% committed to offer you only the best service and meals and offer 100% money back Guarantee should you not receive what you paid for"... Lies! I have been very friendly and very patient but no more! Kobus Coetzee you have R2345 of my money which I want it back...in full!! After the appalling service I've received so far, I don't want your food! If anyone has any advice on what path to follow next, should Kobus continue to ignore me, I would be most appreciative.

We where recently booking an event for my Sons Rugby teams end of season braai, Kobus quotes a fellow parent , I mistakenly paid him a deposit that should have gone to another vendor. We immediately called Kobus and he promised to refund the money as soon as it cleared, on good faith I accepted this and offered to even pay any related cost. Today i called at 8:05 am and he shouted at me saying to call back in office hours ? He is now hanging up any call i make. Please people don't use this man , clearly he has no morals , Still almost R4000 rand unpaid is a bitter pill to swallow! I hope he understands he is taking from a bunch of u11 kids .

I had my 30th birthday celebration on 12 of January 2019. we use ThymeKitchen and what an experience. Kobus your team thank you so much. Your guys were on time and the food was out of this world. My guests were asking me who is this company a told themThyme kitchen they were so impressed and so was i. will definitely use you again and recommend you to my friends and family. Thank you, Kobus, for everything your personality and your effort was much appreciated. Please thank the chef he was excellent and he did a very Good Job and was very friendly. thank you for the wonderful food I will rate you 100%. Thank you so much i couldn't than you enough for the great service and food we received.

Ordered their LEKKA MENU for 12 people for Christmas day. Although 25 Dec 18 was specified on their invoice as the delivery date, it arrived on 24 Dec 18. Assurance that the food will be fine for the next day, convinced me to accept it and I kept it directly under an ice cold aircon till the next day. But, OMG, when we removed the covering (2 layers of foil) on Christmas day, the stench was totally unbearable (smelled like a decomposed body) and the MEAT WAS VROT VROT VROT !!!!!! I was furious and immediately phoned the owner, Kobus, telling him to come and fetch his VROT MEAT at once. He never turned up so I dumped all of it into a black bag and kept it in the garage in order to avoid the sickening smell. The following day, 26 Dec 18, Kobus sent me an email to say I will be refunded. Today, 27 Dec 18, we dropped off the bag of VROT MEAT ****ouched of course) over the fence at 15 Murray Str, Goodwood, which is his place of work. We could not enter the premises due to the high fence and locked chains. From what we could see it did not look very hygienic. From yesterday to today, Kobus has subsequently changed his mind as I was informed via email this morning that he will not refund me and accused me of delibarately keeping the meat for days with the intention for it to go off. REALLY ???? Obviously forgot my phone call on 25 Dec 18 to inform of the VROT MEAT and my request the immediate removal thereof. He furthermore THREATEND OUR BUSINESS WITH A SARS PROBE since his mother is a SARS employee. I was also personally insulted and things got nasty. On the great THYMEKITCHEN website they clearly quote "WE OFFER 100% MONEY BACK GAURANTEE SHOULD YOU NOT RECEIVE WHAT YOU PAID FOR". This "gaurantee" is not even worth the paper its written on. I paid for a half lamb which I took for granted will be edible and could be served as a dish for Christmas lunch, but instead I received VROT MEAT. I also did not receive the malva poeding as indicated on the menu. Kobus can be a very nice person, but don't ever, ever dare to complain or find fault. You will receive denials and threats instead of an apology and/or refund. The threat to me was: "Your have been reported to SARS for a probe (obviously via mommy which means government resouces are utilized to settle personal vandettas) and your bed is made. So sleep on it". Fortunately our business' tax affairs are squeaky clean and has been so since 1995 when established. SO BE AWARE - BE VERY AWARE OF THESE PEOPLE. Don't believe the fancy undertakings and promises on their website. AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE TAX COMPLAINT, FOR MOMMY WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU. (THIS IS SA AFTERALL - GOVERNMENT RESOURCES COMES IN HANDY)
