Poor, chaotic, unprofessional
We hired Totem to install a kitchen for us. It was a 6 month complete nightmare. Between the consultant/design team, manufacturing and installation they got the kitchen horribly wrong - incorrect heights, incorrect hinges, incorrect LED lights, incorrect tap, fairly average workmanship. To their credit they fixed some of the issues like the height of the cupboards and changed the tap. However, at some point they just informed us that they would no longer be fixing any more issues and we should take it up with the kitchen association of SA if we wish, which I though was quite unprofessional to say the least. To this day, we dont know whether the kitchen is even covered under warranty as we never signed any final documents to sign off the completion of the kitchen. There was just no project management involved and we had to keep coordinating between the designer, installer, stone installer ourselves. Unfortunately it is only after the ordeal that we heard from other people about their bad experiences. If you insist on using them, I suggest being very specific about every little inch of measurement and every little bolt and ***** to be on the same page regards exactly what you are getting before signing anything. I would not recommend using them.

Complete disappointment
Our experience with Totem Kitchens started off well, particularly with Queen, who was fantastic throughout the process. Unfortunately, things took a turn when the installation phase began. They rely on subcontractors for installations, and once we made the final payment, communication from the company stopped. We are now left with a half-finished project that was promised to be completed this year. Despite multiple attempts to reach out, the owner has not responded to calls or messages. To make matters worse, they’ve closed for the year, leaving us without a functional kitchen or cupboards to move into our home. While their office and initial customer service might impress, the reality of their service has been disappointing. Our advice: do not make the final payment until the job is fully completed.

My wife and I recently renovated our two-bedroom townhouse. Being novices, we did not really know what we wanted or where to start but were well assisted by Wayne who helped us all the way though with many great ideas, a good design, and a tremendous amount of professionalism. We are pleased with the end result and the initial reaction of all visitors so far has been very complimentary.

My wife and I recently renovated our two-bedroom townhouse.
