To be fair, there are some real positives at Tune Tech. The staff especially the lady at reception are knowledgeable, professional, and easy to deal with. Their communication is excellent, and the claim process with my third-party insurers was genuinely hassle-free. Unfortunately, the overall experience ended badly. I took my car in for a service. The next day after collecting it, my car had to be towed back to Tune Tech due to a major coolant leak, this is a problem that didn't exist prior to taking it for a service. I was told the main coolant pipe was old and needed replacement. I would have preferred this being picked up during the service, but I accepted that issues can happen and I paid for the repair. Just over a month later, I received a “refill coolant” notification again. I contacted Tune Tech calmly, explained the full history, and asked if I could bring the car in hoping they would take into account the money spent and the complications already experienced. Their response was that there are many other coolant pipes and that I should take it to BMW, as they are not willing (or not able) to assist further. My issue is simple: there was no attempt to inspect, diagnose, or provide evidence that this new problem isn’t related to the previous repair which should reasonably carry some workmanship warranty. If they do know it’s unrelated, then it suggests they may have been aware of other issues in the cooling system and didn’t communicate that to me at the time. Either way, refusing to help when a repeat issue appears shortly after a repair is unacceptable. This is part and parcel of doing business, and the customer shouldn’t be left stranded. Tune Tech has the people and the professionalism to be a standout workshop, but this experience left a bitter taste and I can’t recommend them based on the lack of accountability and aftercare.

They do know what they are doing. Even BMW workshops send there their cars when don't know how to fix them. Happened to me after having my car with BWM for 2 years they could not fix it, Tune tech got it done immediatly.

Good day to all that are looking for the best BMW repair centre in Johannesburg. I have an older BMW and in this day and age, people will realise that the first thing that mechanics say is that they would put it to a diagnostic machine. Where this is good and well and sometimes solve the issue, there are way more issues on vehicles that do not have sensors. I have been to mechanics in the past who we now like to say are "computer mechanics" because if the machine doesn't tell them the problem is there , they wont see it or believe it telling you the car is fine. Others will pick up a sensor and change the sensor. Some will pick up the sensor and what ever the first thing the sensor is linked to, they will change that, e.g the radiator light comes on because water is low and the sensor is in the radiator itself. Some people will change a working radiator without even checking the pipes that were probably leaking. Some will even tell you lets erase the fault and carry on driving. Some of these people are big companies. All this is NOT SHAUN and Tune Tech. Tune Tech is the real deal and they really investigate issues properly before fixing anything. These guys are RMi dealers and really live up to their reputation. They do not take chances and it is no wonder that on every social media platform, they come up as being the best in Johannesburg. Even the lady at the front Desk Diba is so good that she can tell you so much about the cars over the phone without seeing it, that some people cant see it with the bonnet up. People with a little more knowledge will realise how smart she is for someone to be so accurate over the phone by asking the right questions. I personally have had great experiences with them in the past and I highly recommend them. I dont believe there is any job that is too big for them or anything that they cannot figure out. Keep up the great work Tune Tech!

Car was with Tune Tech for 4 years. 2 years ago I received an astronomical invoice, looked very suspicious. Tried to negotiate with them but Tune Tech was very adamant to resolve the matter. January 2017 went to BMW dealership and compared parts that were charged for, to my astonishment, Tune Tech tried to ***** me. Reported to the Ombudsman. In July 2017 Ombud ruled in my favour. Took delivery of the car a few weeks later. About two weeks later car went back for minor repairs. after collecting car and on my way home car went into limp mode. From then until 2 weeks ago running between Tune Tech and auto electrician. Eventually took car to a VW mechanic who found that an earth wire was soldered on to the integrated supply module, causing the alternator to FRY. Sent photos to RMI. Long story short the idiots from RMI think it is okay to solder wires to the ISM. BMW Germany appalled by the sub standard soldering of a wire. THE ORIGINAL ISM UNIT WAS PERFECT, REPLACED WITH A SECOND HAND ISM UNIT. WHY? SABOTAGE/STUPIDITY/IGNORANT/ARROGANT 1. RMI will not take action as the independent workshops pay their salaries. 2. Shaun Sing is probably the smoothest operator out there. BE CAREFUL WHOEVER IS READING THIS REVIEW. ACTUALLY STAY AWAY FROM THESE UNSCRUPULOUS LOT. 3. ANYBODY IS WELCOME TO CONTACT ME FOR MORE PHOTOS REGARDING TUNE TECH'S SUB STANDARD WORKMANSHIP. ********** 4. Unfortunately have to consult with a lawyer to proceed and recover my money.
