Based on recent customer reviews, Unity Health receives overwhelmingly negative feedback centered on claims being rejected or unpaid, benefits being suspended due to debit order failures, and medications prescribed by network doctors not being on the formulary. Customers frequently report poor communication, unresolved queries, and feeling forced to pay out of pocket despite having insurance. Particularly concerning are cases involving sick children where authorisation was denied or delayed. Positive experiences highlight the online doctor service, prompt emergency responses, and fast claim refunds when the process works correctly.

Based on recent customer reviews, this business delivers a consistently strong customer experience anchored by outstanding agent quality and rapid communication. Customers frequently name individual consultants and praise their friendliness, patience, and professionalism. Recurring praise is given to claims and roadside assistance, though a vocal minority report frustrating delays, rejected claims, and poor transparency around premium increases.

I am so disappointed in the service I have been receiving from Unity Health. Apparently my benefits has been suspended due to missed premiums, as they claim. The funds has been in my account since 20/12/25 for the debit that was supposed to be deducted on 31/12/25. I have checked my statement, no debit order was attempted, nor was it declined by my bank as I received no msg from my bank informing me of insufficient funds. Now they claim that there was no funds in my account, the funds is still there. My benefits has now been suspended to due their incompetence and someone not doing their job properly. This was also not the 1st time that my debit order hasn't been deducted. They then charged me double the amount, again due their incompetence. Then they blame you even though the funds was there. I have sent 2 emails as well with regards to another query which they also didn't bother replying to. I had to request a Call me back from them.

What a pain in the ass! Your medical insurance used to be so good, now you're serviced and attention to detail has gone down the drain. I consulted with your doctor's at intercare and I was prescribed things that are not on the formulary. I phoned and spoke to Sbu who told me there's no way I can be reimbursed as it is the Dr's fault. I mean these are your doctor's under your network! I've just paid R140+ and I want to be reimbursed as I have nothing to do with an incorrect script being issued. I dread using your service at any pharmacy. I wish our organisation can stop using Unity Health, it is not worth it at all. I might ditch you totally this year.

My child is unwell, and I was told I should have consulted earlier—as if a child plans when to get sick. The so‑called doctor, Thabang Matlala, clearly has no understanding that illness is unpredictable. Now I’m being forced to pay cash because I never received an authorisation number. When I called Unity, their IVR claimed I phoned after hours. Why must I struggle for authorisation and still end up paying out of pocket?
