Imagine going to the Hospital and the very first person you see the very first staff member has disgusting attitude. You greet they don't greet... It's your first time coming to the hospital for an appointment and you explain you don't know where the department is you suppose to be in and instead of helping you they get angry and moody 🤢🤮

Yesterday, I experienced the best service at Victoria Hospital. From the moment I arrived, I was surrounded by genuine care, compassion, and professionalism. Every single person who assisted me from the doctors and nurses to the security staff did so with love and kindness that truly touched my heart. I had bags with me, knowing I’d be staying overnight, and every time I needed to move, someone was there to help me carry them without hesitation. It wasn’t just medical care. it was human care, and that made all the , nurses, security personnel, and everyone who played a part in looking after me last night:thank you from the bottom of my heart. The way things are done at this hospital is simply remarkable. Victoria Hospital, you are a shining example of what healthcare should be.

We had to take my grandson (8 years old) to be seen at the New Paediatrics Section of the Hospital. This is a daunting task to say the least but what a pleasant surprise we all had. The Process of registering to see the doctor was handed very effectively and reasonably quickly as on Mondays there are hundreds of patients. The Management and Staff were extremely informative and helpful during the registration process. Moving onto the Paediatric section was more of the same. Very helpful and informative. From the Sister to the Doctor the whole experience was very pleasant and quick. Today we had to return for an Ultrasound appointment which again went like clockwork. Very very Well done to the hopefully new patient care approach. It definitely makes a massive difference to your patients and from our part we are eternally grateful. Keep up the good work. ❤️❤️

I came with my son who has been throwing up since Sunday and is complaining of stomach paining.. I was advised that the waiting period is 6 hours and it's almost 1 o clock and my son has still not been seen by a doctor this is the worst service and everytime my son comes here then I have this issue. I have been here since just after 7 as I had to leave work early cause my son was sick he just wanted to sleep and his body was weak. At just before 2 they called us to see the doctor and it's now almost 4am and I still haven't seen the doctor But it's like this hospital is just the worst ever I was here the last time And I walked out cause of this treatment I mean it's a child it's not an adult aren't hospitals supposed to prioritize children and early people but not here... My son has thrown up 3-4 times already and yet this hospital and doctors still don't assist. If I could give zero stars I would cause this service is pathetic to say the least

Dr Paul Rowe/Dr Jeannie McCaul- Orthopaedic Surgeon..If I could give no stars it would be better...my son of 13 broke his arm on the 15th of Aug 24....they couldn't put him under properly the 1 st time and put his arm skew in a cast....then we had to wait on the orth specialist who x-rayed his arm again and found it skew....a second time my child's arm was pulled and again wasn't put under properly....and his arm out in a cast .....not long after that grassy park takes his cast of to reveal a completely skew arm that can't even hold a bread without buckling.... I was told to keep it straight and buy a brace which I did... Let's not forget that my son has to be on pain meds daily to keep the pain at bay.... On the 4th of oct24 I went to a private Dr telling them how terrible the pain is and asked if his arm should look the way it did and they told me how deformed his arm is and that he will need to have an operation to straighten the arm, they will also be in contact with the hospital and ask when we could have a consultation regarding his arm it is the 15th of oct 24 and called the Dr twice asking if any feedback was given and nothing yet....this is extremely frustrating my son is about to write exams his final exams of primary school and will be in high school next year and no feedback has been given. Also I was advised that if I do go to the hospital they will turn me away as it is not an emergency....!!!!!!what they messed up his arm and this child can't even hold a bread.....this is troubling and without being able to get any information I am force to come and tell everyone how our government hospitals fail yet again. Please can you get hold of me to sort my son out this can't go on....I am begging you to do something to mend with you messed up

My dad was admitted on Friday morning in emergency. He has been moved to the medical ward in Victoria hospital. I'm calling to request updates on my dad and that line is forever busy or engaged when you eventually get through the nurses are so abrupt and rude and dismissive. I am honestly not happy with this. My dad was given antibiotics and water pills but gets scolded at for wetting the bed, and the pee pans they give him the put it on the window sill far from his bed he has no energy to move how in Gods name is he even able to get the pan from the window sill in time to pee. When we questioned them about this it was quickly shifted to blame my dad for spitting as old as I am I have never seen my dad spit on a floor Infront of him! How is this humane? Are they animals? The unit manager (short Muslim lady) I don't have her name but I will assure you I will get her name was so rude to my mum after my mom asked for any update on my dad's health or just an update on him! She was rudely told You cannot be asking updates on Mr M Jabaar everytime. How is my dad being treated like an animal when he is ill so I'll that he's just laying there on oxygen!!!!! I am disgusted I am furious I have a good mind to take this to local news papers because wow I get that it's a state hospital but no man Service levels are important! Nurses work with people (lack of people skills). I suggest all your nurses undergo people skills training because of their dismissive behaviour! I would appreciate feedback on this and please investigate what's happening in your health institute in Wynberg Cape Town I am displeased by your health officials at Victoria hospital. I am furious but I am trying to keep my cool. Tuesday 24/09/2024 3pm visiting time my mom asked for an update she was told by the unit manager on duty that she can't get updates everyday and all the time. Wednesday 25/09/2024 at 3pm when my sister got there my dad was left with a pot / bottle full of pee when he needed to pee my sister called the nurse she said I'm coming now visiting hour passed and she didn't return to empty the thing. I would like this to be investigated as I'm not impressed at all when a nurse takes an Oath to care for people and this is what they call care? My mom was the only one that asked, they made her stand outside yesterday when she wanted an update yes I get you have hospital protocol and policies understandable and then just last night, my mom was downstairs already so my went to find out if they have any numbers incase my dad is going to be discharge as the patient on the opposite said he heard Dr say that my dad will be discharged so i just went to find out they didnt even have any numbers, then today when she called this switch board operator was so rude that she told me that she can't call this number all the time. She called then line was cut due to no airtime then she bought airtime and thats when she told me that above mentioned and gave me the direct number that ends with 1188 so she asked her what is 1188 there is no phone etiquette at all is this how services are rendered at your hospital. Please see email below sent to the Ombudsman as well because I am tired of listening to everything and anything these nursing staff tells us. My mom was there today 29/09/2024 at 15:00 for visiting time to see my dad Patient: Moumien Jabaar Bed 15 Male Medical ward. Yesterday 28/09/2024 at 15:00 when we were there the nurses said alot of things to my mom. Accused my dad of peeing on the floor! They leave him drenched in his pee !!!! Whole day!!!! Do you know why? Did the nurses tell you they left my dad with wet bedding wet sheets wet gown the whole time ? The only way he could get a new or dry gown was of he undressed himself? I am not happy at all I feel like exposing this hospital in all newspapers and social media along with all it's staff in the medical male ward because this is INHUMANE!!! I am still waiting for feedback please investigate this asap because I'm fed up tired of this behaviour.
