We visited the restaurant on Saturday as a group of five and overall, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The sushi itself was excellent...fresh, well prepared, and absolutely worth going back for. The restaurant atmosphere was also great, which makes this review a little disappointing to write. Unfortunately, our service let the experience down. Our waiter, Bongani, was quite stroppy and rude from the start. He explained how the all-you-can-eat sushi works, which all five of us agreed to. We were then told that each person could order two plates at a time, which we did. My husband eats very quickly and finished his food well before the rest of the table. When he tried to place his next order, Bongani refused, saying he had to wait until the rest of the table had finished their food. We explained that we would still be eating for at least another 20 minutes, but he still refused to take the order. Afterwards, we spoke to friends and colleagues about this experience, and everyone advised that it has never worked this way for them. We were told that if you finish your plates before anyone else at the table, you are normally allowed to order your next batch of sushi. Given how popular the all-you-can-eat special is, it would make sense that the kitchen is already preparing numerous plates of sushi at any given time. He only returned more than half an hour later to take another order, and then we waited an additional 30 minutes for the food to arrive. This was frustrating and unnecessary, especially considering the rules had not been clearly communicated upfront. That said, we really do enjoy the sushi and the restaurant itself and will definitely be returning. However, we will make sure to request that Bongani does not serve our table again.

Being a client of Villa Bianca for the past two and half years has been great . However 30 January 2026 was different. The waiter we had was Forgiveness , firstly we waited thirty minutes just to order our drinks and for the bread to be bought onto the table . We placed our orders and got our food after forty-five minutes. I had a salmon FireRoll and a HALLOUMI CRUNCH . My partner had a prawn FireRoll and a tiger roll . The waiter we had did not place the food neatly onto the table, to that extent that the spices were all over the table . Only one straw was put on the table , I had to drink out of a glass . Everytime we would order water we would have to wait for twenty minutes. When I had told the staff I was not feeling well , I had asked to take my food home and they refused. Luckily I took Allergex whilst sitting at the restaurant. As soon as I got home , I threw up . This indicated that the food was not cooked properly. Forgiveness dropped the food of the people who were sitting behind us and pretended as if everything is fine . I called to speak to the manager and he was not interested face to face . Telephonically I had asked to speak to the manager and still two hours later I am waiting for my call to be returned. I have been throwing up for two hours straight. I am sick because of the food was not up to standard, it was not cooked properly. Yet no apology or refund has been given due to staff being negligent. The CCTV footage is evident regarding the incidents which occurred.

My husband and I are formally from KZN and moved up to JHB last year. For the past year, we've been saving up and wanting to go to Villa Bianca for the all you can eat sushi. After watching numberous TikToks, we decided to go today before I relocate for KZN again next month. It was the worst experience ever! We made a reservation at 2 and arrived at 1:45. Got seated immediately and the waiter asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. It's my first time in this restaurant and we see every table with this water. We both opted for still. He comes back in 5 minutes with a bottle of Valpre still water and takes our drinks order. 15 minutes later he takes our first order down of sushi - we ordered ONLY one plate (8 pieces each). The food arrived in 1 and a half hours. It's now 3:15pm. You heard right - one and a half hours for just 16 pieces of sushi that we ate in 5 minutes. Every table around us were served, except us! The waiter comes to our table at 3:20 to advise the all you can eat sushi is now closed. We didn't even know there was a curfew?! We advised this was not acceptable and he comes back with 2 plates of sushi and says please have this as we advised we will pay only for the plates we ate and will leave. 10 minutes later he wants to take another order as he advised they made a plan. We were already so irate and said it's fine we want the bill. My Don Papa ****tail that was priced at R95 on the menu as charged at R105. The Valpre water was charged at R55 - we were unaware we were being charged for us, we thought it just came standard with the table as it's such a high end restaurant. My husbands 300ml coke was R38. We were still charged R500 for the all you can eat. My heart is breaking at the fact that we work so hard for our money and we had to pay R700 for this heartbreaking experience!! We do not even go to restaurants on a daily and this is what we got today! And yes, every table around us was devastated and went to fight it out with the manager. We just paid and left thinking about the money we would need to now spend again on supper.

The staff at Villa Bianca restaurant are completely rude! Please train your staff on how to treat patrons. They have an attitude. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were not even greeted and when taking our order the staff seemed like they couldn't even be bothered. Staff seemed fed up to work on the day. Once we were seated we waited about 15 minutes for someone to come and take a drinks order. The food was cold and bland/tasteless. Definitely not worth the price or hype. Do not visit this restaurant. Spend your money elsewhere.
