During last week we bought an additional Weber apparatus, a small bottom of the range portable gas barbecue. (I think it is called Q 1000) (we are not new to Weber products, and we've had several charcoal fired kettle braais during the past 3 decades or so, but we needed something small just to fire up if we had a sudden inclination to barbecue something for just the 2 of us) Somehow, I failed to get gas to the burner and hence contacted the Weber offices who then referred me to Marc , their colleague in Cape Town. I called Marc, sent him some photographs and then he decided to visit our home on 2 occasions in order to sort the issue out. His customer service was just absolutely outstanding, and I just want to commend him and Weber for such excellent customer service. Cape Town is sometimes slow on customer service (our experience since the 'semi grating' here more than a decade ago), but Marc and the service we received from him and Weber was absolutely out of the ordinary. And by the way, the product is great quality – I looked at several slightly cheaper models – all quite flimsy and 'tinny’ and even ‘blingy’ – so I decided to pay more and buy decent quality - Weber.

I had an issue with my Weber where the lid inside started to peel off and felt on my food. After a couple of days without a phone call I was send an email with tips to rectify the issue. I don’t understand why there is a 10 warrant/guarantee that Weber so proudly advertise. This is obviously not applicable in South Africa. I will never buy any Weber product again.

I have to laugh at the... so to say good reviews of the weber grills. Bought a 57 one touch weber kettle braai from LeeRoy Merlin about 2 months ago. No bad on LeeRoy Merlin but what atrocious service from Weber SA themselves. Sent emails to their warranty department and let me tell you what A Joke, Tommy ****son and Maryke Pienaar have totally forgotten about me...... I noticed a chip/crack on the porcelain coating after the second weekend of using it. So I thought it's best to send them my claim and concerns that it will deteriorate over time and not wanting to have a problem later on, as it does have a 10yr warranty apparently. After 2 months this is where I stand.......... Nothing /Nada. It's funny when you get on their case then all of a sudden you receive a mail stating that I was supposed to send a full picture if the Lid. In all this frustration I noticed that the bottom vents don't close properly aswell as the bottom Charcoal grid has broken welds on it. I have been a happy Weber customer for over 16 years with no previous hick ups but Boy let me tell you that this is the worst service I have come across. It must be the age group of nowadays. The amount of money spent on a Braai like this is sickening and should of rather bought myself a different manufactured kettle unit elsewhere. Absolutely pathetic. Yours Trully, Unhappy Customer.
