I contracted ACL (Paarl) to install an inverter and battery system. It was done on 1 June 2023 by a subcontractor, called Tinus. Anton (for ACL) said I must contact Tinus for the CoC. He insisted on cash payment and was handed to him in the presence of two witnesses. The work was done on 9 June 2023. Numerous messages followed. As at today 11 Sept 2023, I am still waiting for the CoC. The CoC is a legal requirement.

I have religiously paid my ‘assets’ up and never misses a month of paying levies for 10 years and I am now having difficulty cancelling my ‘membership’. I want absolutely no affiliation with an organisation trying to pull every trick in the book not to act professionally and play within the boundaries of the consumer act. Sleazy dealings, stay away.

I signed up with ACI in 2011 in my first year of work, an impressionable youngster blinded by the excitement of his first paycheck. The deal sounded great: pay for 45 units, but get 60, and (this is the key point that convinced me to buy in, seeing as I am a very risk-averse person), if I ever changed my mind and decided I no longer wanted this, I had a guaranteed buyback promise from ACI, at full value. Then we found out we were emigrating in 2016, and I tried to invoke that lovely buyback promise, only to be told sorry, that's not a thing, the best you can hope to receive if you go this route is to get R14000 back (out of R45000, so less than a third of the value). If I had known this up front, I NEVER would have wasted my time and money with this scheme. Using lies and trickery to sign people up for your product is disgusting, and even associating with salespeople who use such tricks doesn't say much about the integrity of your organisation. Be very careful about promises made to you when you're being wooed to join up with ACI. The salespeople will say anything to get you on board.

PLEASE do not fall into the same trap as I did with this load of SHARKS that just want money, money, money without giving a damn about their clients. What a mission and exorbitant amount of money to pay just to get out of this mess. And then you have to forfeit everything you've paid for for years and years and years. Daylight robbery doesn't begin to describe them. Again, PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR SCHEMING SCAMS!

You like travel? Dont be fooled into signing up with ACI. They sell non redeemable shares and there is no option of backing out once the sale is made. They charge exhorbitant management fees that increase expenentialy by the year. Their sole purpose is to ensure that you remain indebted to them even if they offer you no service . I made the mistake of joining ACI in 2010 and barely 5 days later I was already regretting the decision, and I have regretted the decision ever since. Everything that they told me was a lie and I wish the public could be protected from such bogus companies in South Africa!

We have been investors at ACI for 8 years and kept to our agreement with them for 7 years. Due to unforeseen medical circumstances last year we struggled to keep to our regular monthly payments. We then made monthly arrangements with them which was accepted by them. Thankfully we managed to recover from this set back and we could then pay our fees fully which was a great relief. We were then also very excited that we could now book our well deserved holiday following this difficult and trying time. What a surprise that when we phoned to book this holiday we were informed that due to the payments that we missed we have lost our points for 2015! We explained that we had arrangements, which was accepted by them and that out accounts are now fully paid (in advance as we have time untill September 2016 to pay the fees). We also explained that at no time during the discussions (which were frequent) were we informed that we stand the risk of losing our points. All they were interested in is getting the money, which we agree, is within their right, but what about our rights to be informed of possible consequences of losing our points. When we challenged them on why they did not inform us of this all they say is sorry, read your contract? Really now, how many people know off hand all the details contained in a contract that was signed 8 years ago! Surely ACI has an obligation to communicate such information to their customers in order to at least give the client an oppurtunity to rectify or at the very least be aware. ACI has no interest in their customers/investors and their staff and managers are cold and not willing to even consider the customer/investors point of view as long as they have your money - but the holiday that we were so looking forward to can now not happen (in the 8 years of this investment we were allocated 800 points of which we only used 140 points - we are workaholics so paid ACI monthly but never had the time to take that holiday - now we are semi retired and have the time to enjoy our investment. ACI decided it is ok for them not to communicate to us and there lack of interest in the well being of their customers resulted in our dream holiday being only a dream. They are pathetic and I would urge all their current customers and investors to be aware when dealing with them - you are sure to be dissapointed down the line somehow.....

To whom it may concern

After being patient for a number of years and paying (losing) thousands of rands, I have asked the company on a settlement to my account. At the moment I am paying R940 a month to which half of that goes towards a management fee, 25% goes towards interest and the balance towards paying the actual assets. Now you can do the math of how much I have spent over a number of years and I have never even ONCE used their services. In order to settle my account I need to pay twenty odd thousand rand to settle my assets, then I have to STILL pay another five hundred odd rand towards the management fee monthly until my assets are sold or transferred to another owner and if I am lucky I will get back half of the money that I have spent if I try to sell it. I have told them that I am willing to give away all my assets and the money that I have spent up until know and I am even willing to pay any administration fees that might be outstanding to settle my contract to which I get the same routine, policy written email reply every single time. All I want is to negotiate, but it sounds like I am not taken seriously.

I really do not know what to do???
