Unreliable little airline. After booking flight they moved it by an entire day ?!!! . Had to change hotel and other arrangements at substantial cost. Flight delayed at Reunion by more than 3 hours . No Air Austral staff at airport for 3 hours to provide any info. Useless *********** little airline - AVOID AT ALL COST

Johannesburg to Reunion and return. Unsure if everything was fine with that plane as there was grinding noise as well as continuous vibrations. Due to it we were not even able to use our arm rests. Flight to Reunion delayed. Return flight cancelled by airline a few days before. Only option to accept a flight a few days later. No accommodation etc offered. As per EU regulation they are also obliged to compensate passengers. Handed in my compensation request 2 months ago. Received confirmation by airline. Since then neither compensation has been paid nor does Air Austral reply to any email.

Thank you Air Austral for an excellent experience. We were flying with two infants and were very stressed about the flight to Mauritius and being able to manage them. Ashwell working at OR Tambo made sure we got good seats to manage the babies. More companies could do with employees like Ashwell, THANK YOU!

Doesn't even deserve 1 star! What appalling service! I booked ticket through a agency called Gotogate and our airline tickets through Air Austral. Due to Covid the tickets had to be cancelled - The tickets were paid for IN FULL! When I phone Gotogate I' m told that Air Austral needs to credit me and when I call Air Austral I'm told Gotogate needs to credit me - and so the circle starts - it's like playing broken telephone! I have been going in circles for MONTHS with no refund or ay progress. My last refund request was updated on their system on the 12th of December 2021 and nothing and I mean NOTHING since! Their business service is ridiculous and at this point my money is being held by them - basically stollen as they won't refund as promised.

My flight have been cancelled due to Covid 19 restrictions. I have requested a refund, but after searching for someone to help me for very long, I have been informed that my refund request will take up to 48 working days to be processed. Such a long waiting time is unacceptable. I need the money very urgently.

My flight to Mauritius was cancelled due to the pandemic. Air Austral issued a voucher and told me I could get a voucher which could be used to book another flight or refunded if not used in a year. After a year, I was told my voucher refund is being processed, I was now told that the agent was already refunded this money. Air Austral issued the voucher and should refund it.
