Just arrived at the international airport with my friend to rent on the luxury cars offered by AVIS LUXURY. Before coming here we had done a quotation and we were told that since we were under 30 the liability amount would increase to R90 000. That quotation was done over the course phone. Fast forward to today, we are now told that we cannot rent any of the luxury cars since we under 30. When we tried to bring it up to their attention that we were told otherwise over the phone when we done the quote and one of the requirements stated in the quote says that the minimum age is 25 and for people under 30 the liability amount would increase. The consultant that assisted us to told us that we cannot and that the decision to grant us the car is at the managers discretion. We have no reason to believe that because none of that is even written down in the terms and conditions. We don’t appreciate this kind of service. Because on another with different people this couldn’t have been granted and this would show how biased and unfair these kind of practices are!! Such a disgrace!

Bad service from a manager Chantel, we prebook a fortuner and when we got into the car it smells rotten like a dead meat/rotten meat inside. One of the front desk people comes to assess it fir us and he agreed. Chantel comes and tells him and is that it’s wet smell. Who cannot differentiate between a wet carpet smell or dead meat smell? She sprays the car and we have to take it and not apologetic about that. She’s clever and we are stupid. Service in that branch is different from all other branches we hire at with Hertz. That manager is bad for that branch period. Zukiswa

This company seems to be a scam. They took my money, supplied booking documents for a rental car and when I arrived at the airport Budget Car Rental was not paid. I tried to contact Airportcarrentals on their so-called 24/7 client care number several times while standing at the airport but the line just kept going dead. Eventually I had to pay again to get a rental car. I've also tried to contact them later in an attempt to sort out the problem and get my money back, but the company does not seem to exist. STAY AWAY - Airportcarrentals.com IS A SCAM!

I rented a car at avis via rentalcars.com they took my payment of R 3,431 which is the car hire charge of R1148, full Protection insurance R1757.22 and that was made on 9 december and had to collect it on the 10 of december at 6:30 the mornings . When arriving it came 2 my understanding all my documents that I had does not comply ,meaning my nedbank Gold chequesa acount did not have my name on it, and I'm a licensed driver meeting the age bracket .However I then cancelled it and it was so . I was advised that I would only pay a cancelation fee of R400 which I was okay with they then promised me that I would get back my R1148 of the car charge fee for ten days and my R1757.22 for the full protection fee because I showed up the same day and cancelled . However I received only a R1148 and never got the R1757.22 I then went back on a week after because they said all my money will be in my bank within 7 to 5 working days and i only got back R1148 .i then went back 7 days later got on the line with them and Jason promised me again I would get it back and I never did it's already the 23 of january 2020 .This company make so much money and yet the still Rob you of so little . But God will deal with your company. And it actual fact I still want my money . Quick 2 take payments but look how hard it is 2 get it back .Poor services. And yet avis is working with them but all they say is sorry there's nothing we can do .

I got a courtesy car through AVIS on the 4th of July 2019, I asked to pick it up to be at the airport because I stay lit close to it but was advised I have to go to Vincent. when getting to Vincent, I was told the car is at the airport. went to the airport again and when getting the car, the fuel gauge was not on full, I asked and the car was taken to be checked but it came back the same saying fuel gauge is not working properly. its a new car. I took pictures of the fuel gauge. I returned the car on full tank on the 30th of July after 1700 or so. waited for it to be inspected as I normally do whenever I hire a car, a guy came and inspected the car and said I can go all is well. 2 days after I got a call that the car I had returned had Major damages on it. I asked how is that possible when the car was inspected in front of me NO ANSWER was given instead they said I should write a statement and fill a form where I sent my statement which is the same as this review. NO FEEDBACK WAS RECEIVED!!! instead, I had an R223.48 transaction on the 5th Aug and the following day another of R3209.88 without any explanation. I called the HO to log a dispute last week and this morning I got another Transaction for R4859.88. AND STILL NO EXPLANATION!! AM VERY ****ED OFF AT HOW THIS HAS BEEN HANDLED, NO REGARD FOR ME AS A CLIENT AND COURTESY TO UPDATE ME. HOW THE FLIP DOES A CAR THAT HAD NO DAMAGE WHEN it INSPECTED GET IT 2 DAYS AFTER!! HOW?

On the 6th of January 2018 we picked up a car from the Woodford car hire rental that we secured via the online service subsequently made the required payments. The car that was furnished was not the same car we booked i.e. Kia Sport age instead of Hyundai Tuscan. They never even apologized for the mishap. We booked the car for 5 days and on the 11th Jan 2018 we returned the car. We were advised that the windscreen had a small chip and we agreed as we had to rush for the plane and given our insurance experience no access is even required for such. In addition this damage is even not expensive to fix. My credit card was debited without my consultation R 8 000 and R 4 000 on a different days and when we asked we were told that it was for the windscreen replacement. We are not going to lay this to rest as we feel that this is a day light robbery. I agree that we signed for damage acceptance and it was clearly stated that it was a windscreen chip. How on earth does a windscreen chip result to a windscreen replacement.
