Hi All, I have had a terrible experience with motor spares shop in Pietermaritzburg. I was referred to Autoquip Motor Spares (owner Ritesh Hanuman) by an acquaintance, and therefore accepted the referral. Prior to Autoquip Motor Spares collecting the vehicle from my yard and taking it to the workshop for repairs I had explained everything to the owner. He showed concern and full understanding of the situation and agreed to quote me prior doing any work on the vehicle as I was not able to pay a huge amount of money for the repairs. I would've brought it back home instead. That been discussed he installed an engine management system, new battery, repaired 3 tyres, consumables and labour, put in a sensor or 2 and made a few modifications and after R30,286.00 without any proof and an invoice only given for 1 payment of R16786, later the engine is mixing oil and water, this value excludes the towing of the vehicle plus a new radiator fitted. I humbly request that these guys should be stopped dead in their tracks by this message being posted on every social media platform to avoid this happening to innocent people out there who earn an honest living and are being cheated and robbed. They refused for me to make a payment arrangement and held my car in storage until I got the police involved and had to pay the full amount without any proof of what repairs or parts were done on my vehicle. Please repost immediately.

The tyre & wheel industry is obviously booming. Autoquip offers online enquiries on their website which I used. After waiting a few hours for a response I then managed to find the store managers email address on the website and emailed him directly, again absolutely no response. I know I'm picking on Autoquip here but Tiger Wheel & Tyre are not much better, also don't respond. Its just that I have received decent service from Autoquip before so today's experience leaves me disappointed.

During March 2017 I took my vehicle to Autoquip to install coil-over suspension. Within a week my vehicle was making an awful sound. I returned and enquired as to whether the shock mountings also needed replacing and was advised that the coil-overs were defective. I was assured that the shock mountings were fine. I was advised to return to the coil-overs to the supplier and purchase Bilstein shocks, which I did. Autoquip then installed the brand new Bilstein shocks. A week later the sound returned and persists until today. For several months attempts were made for Autoquip to resolve the issue however they have not taken responsibility and it has transpired that the studs and bolts on the top of the coil-overs as well as the currently installed shocks were damages and in addition the shock mountings are in need of replacement. I will now have to fork out monies for a third repair due to poor workmanship and bad advice from Autoquip Fourways.

I brought my car in yesterday for a flat tyre replacement. This was at 10h30. No communication on how long it will take. At 12h30 the car was still standing there without any wheels on, nobody workig on it. Then at 12h50 they realised they were closing at 13h00 so they quickly took the car for wheel allignment. When I left there was a noise in my car that was not there before but they were already closed. I came back at 8am this morning they told me its a topshop mountain thats making the noise and they will fix it. Again after an hour I asked how long it will take, they said they will get back to me. It is now 09h30, I am already an hour and a half late for work and still sitting here without any indication on when the problem will be fixed. I will never return to this shop again, I will rather pay more at another place than waste 5hours of my life for something as simple as a flat tyre.

Was on my way to Cape Town from Joburg had a flat tyre 40km outside Bloemfontein. Went to all the tire shop in Bloemfontein with zero help from any the shops due to it being a flat tyre and i wasn't there to buy 4 new tyres . Came to Autoquip, although they were busy with no space on any of there ramps Werner pulled one of his guys to just take a look. Had run flat damage and had to replace my tire. Werner arrange a new tire for me as they didn't have stock in my size and brand. Tire was at the shop in less than 10min.

All in all the best service i had in a long time. I would really recommend them as the go to guys for any tire problem.

I took my VW Scirocco R to Autoquip Fourways in order to change the coil springs. The price charged for this was only R950.00 and the salesperson that assisted me is Linda. When I went to collect my car after the springs were changed I noticed an error message on my OBD and warning lights were on, I brought this to Linda's attention and he asked me to bring back the car for a diagnosis. It was diagnosed as an ABS speed sensor and hub bearing which had been damaged. This was damage was done during the changing of my springs. I received a quotation from VW amounting to R15000.00 for the repairs. Linda assured me that Autoquip Fourways would bear the cost of the repairs. Linda had placed an order for the parts and carried out the repairs within half a day. Although the initial sale was only R950.00, Autoquip and Linda valued customer satisfaction and took the inititative to ensure my car was repaired even though the repairs cost substantially more than the cost of changing my springs. Linda and Autoquip Fourways has exceeded my expectations with their brilliant aftersales service. I do beleive that their fitters need to take more care when working with customer vehicles to avoid scenarios like this in future. I am happy with the resolution and overall service from Autoquip Fourways.
