I have worn Barestep shoes for years (have 3 pairs), loved them and recommended them to all and sundry. The original ones had very durable soles, but the uppers were wearing through on the black pair. I invested in another two pairs in November 2025. The sizing had changed, so the shoes I received were too small, and one pair was the wrong colour - a colour I already have. I needed to return both pairs, unworn. I jumped through all the hoops, paid the return fee, got exchange permission, got their form/waybill/label, and sent back the shoes with their courier. That is now six months ago, and there has been absolutely no response to my repeated emails or my Facebook messages. And no shoes. This is unacceptable.

I purchased a pair of Barestep shoes for my husband in September 2025 for his birthday. He absolutely loved them & they really helped with the pain in his feet. However, barely 3 months later these shoes had holes in the bottom & in the fabric. They advertise these shoes as orthopedic shoes & even for running etc. & he had never even run in them, used them purely for walking. I emailed them beginning of January regarding this & they initially responded, however I have had no response from them at all since then & I have emailed them several times since. They have basically just gone quiet & ignored me, which is highly disappointing since my husband actually liked the shoes & it was a birthday present.. Unfortunately their shoes don't last longer than 3months in my case with very little wear on them & their customer service is extremely poor. I would NOT recommend these shoes for that reason.

Four months ago I bought shoes for them, which were the wrong size. I tried to change it with them through emails and their online support platform. To date, after sending dozens of messages, they haven't responded nor helped in anyway in trying to exchange them. Waste of time working with them.

RMA9247916 for order #BS54152. I have purchased shoes from Barestep twice before, the first time the size was correct, the second time the size was incorrect and it was exchanged without issue. In December 2025 I again bought shoes, the same as the first time, but this time the size was not the same and I had to send it back for an exchange, I had to pay an additional R200 for the exchange, they send me an email saying that they received the returned items on 21 January 2026, I have send multiple emails and have heard nothing since. No reply, no explanation.

RMA9247916 for order #BS54152. I have purchased shoes from Barestep twice before, the first time the size was correct, the second time the size was incorrect and it was exchanged without issue. I ordered the 2 for one promo. One for me and one for my Mom. My one is one size to big and i just wanted to exchange for exactly same shoe but one size smaller. This shoe has never been worn by me except for fitting it that one time. I have sent varies emails, requested a refund on the site as one is suppose to do various times. With no response. I have sent emails since after I received my order. From 12 Dec 2025 till 2 Feb 2026. It seems to be impossible to exchange to the size that will fit me. I dont think I will do business with this company again.

I enjoy BareStep shoes and between my partner and myself we have bought numerous pairs, and enjoyed tremendous comfort. However, our most recent order in December showed that their admin is not as good as their footwear. For whatever reason, the shoes that were delivered to us were too small and couldn't be worn by either of us. I have sent them four -mails requesting that they collect the shoes that don't fit and replace them with shoes one size larger. I have had no response. I'm unable to wear the shoes or to find a phone number to engage with someone at BareStep in an effort to resolve the situation. At this stage I'm out of pocket and have 2 new pairs of shoes in my cupboard. Les Cohen
