I asked about a dish due to spice and got a rude response. The curry was the worse I could ever eat it was so bad I just left the whole bowl and put halloumi in hot curry it felt like curdled milk in my mouth and the curry had no taste and the price was R150 and I ordered a starter they said I can order but they doubt it will be done in time and not to mention we were the only people in the restaurant. deff not recommend

The food was good. However, if you're not fair skinned you probably won't get good service . We entered from the balcony entrance and our waiter Vanessa told us to walk around and use the entrance situated inside the mall. When we got to the front, a white couple came on behind us,she literally took the couple and seated them before us. After sitting us down, she came back after 20 minutes to take our order. While waiting, I noticed another couple entering the balcony entrance and they were not stopped (ironically another white couple). Vanessa then continued checking up on all her better looking customers then us I assume and not once came to check up on us. We had to ask another waiter to bring us the bill.

Hi. Just to inform you that I contacted Bukhara Cape Town Waterfront about my bad experience (Went there for my 27 Anniversary) on the 20 December 2020. Up until now no one even contacted me whatsoever with an apology . I took almost half an hour to explain my experience but no replied up until now. So many people out there looking for work so whoever is not fit enough to do a job give it to someone else. People work so hard to earn money and to waste money on **** food as well as bad service like that is not worth it. Bukhara is one of the expensive Restaurants but quality of food that evening was pathetic. I will recommend anybody to Bihari in Newlands, best food and service. Money worth spend...give them 6 out of 5.

So heard good comments about this place and decided to take my wife out tonight for supper at the GrandWest Casino branch. Food was good, presentation and welcoming was good. However upon leaving, I noticed the tandoori chef sneeze, but put both his hands in front of his nose in the kitchen, and then with the same hands, prepared the Naan or roti, without cleaning his hands. This put me off as the food preparation area is open plan, so you can see the meals being prepared so now am puzzled by the restaurants cleanlines and hygiene. I asked the waitress to please inform him about it, in my presence, so he was not too happy about this. It's small things like this that brings a good restaurants reputation down.

I went to Bukhara - Water Front on 13 July 2019 during the evening. From the outside, I could identify that there were approximately 10 free tables, however the host advised me that it would be a small wait for a table for two whilst they cleaned the tables. After ten minutes, the host sat us down to a table that still had chunks of food left from the previous patrons. The host who had sat us down with menus then said it would be cleaned shortly. Thereafter a 15 minute wait ensued until such time as I stood up, went to a waiter and pleaded for service. He advised me that someone would be right with us. Another 10 minutes passed, until we left without saying a word or being asked to remain by anyone. Total time waiting on uncleaned table: 25 minutes

My dad loves Bukhara so we reserved a Table for his birthday at the Bukhara in Grand West. As we arrived it appeared as though the restaurant was closed but saw the side door was open. Upon entry the restaurant was empty and the kitchen staff was cleaning. After having to repeat ourselves to 4 different people indicating that we have made a reservation and what time are they opening someone said the restaurant was not going to open that evening. Which was surprising considering we have made a reservation and per their Trading Hours at their entrance the restaurant is due to be open. The last individual managed to instead of just calling someone from the back and passing responsibility managed to assist us and tried calling the 3 restaurant managers after numerous attends the one lady answered. The Restaurant Manager was still in Grand West and appeared from the side door. We explained to her that we had made a reservation, but one of the kitchen staff indicated that the restaurant was not opening that evening. The restaurant manager became extremely defensive and first indicated that they are doing maintenance on the kitchen equipment upon which I reminded her that we had made a reservation and why did no one call us to indicate that the restaurant was not going to open. The restaurant manager continuously being defensive the story changed and she indicated that just 30 minutes prior they had a 3rd degree burn incident and she was trying to deal with that and with Grand West. Which I thought was very funny given that in 30 minutes you have dealt with the incident, arranged and spoken to Grand West and managed to get Burger King for supper. I indicated to the Restaurant Manager that I also work in the client facing Industry and I understand that some things are our of your control but all that she has been is defensive and she has not apologized to us at all for the fact that we have come all this way and no one has informed us. We have such fond memories at the Bukhara at Grand West and it was so disappointing and especially having to remind a Restaurant Manager how to work with their Customers. But like my dad said we will return to Bukhara but most definitely not the one in Grand West.

Simply put it was disappointing. Went to CPT restaurant in town on recommendation: food way over-priced - clearly a tourist trap; restaurant too darkly lit; waiter was one of the worst I have come across anywhere; service just poor - no one asked if we were ok, if food was ok, left with dirty plates on table for 25 mins etc etc. They had no stock of their own house wine, and my second choice wine was also not available and the next available bottle was at over R250 - crazy - if you want to drink wine the cheapest they can offer is a bottle (nothing per glass in this category) at R250! Nuts! Food was however very nice but not good enough to compensate for the poor pricing and poor service. I should have gone elsewhere, wouldn't go back and wont recommend.
