I bought my wife a fancy pair of sunglasses from the Burberry Hyde Park store 3 years ago. She liked them very much and for the first two times she tried to wear them she would endure the discomfort due to a thought that they would sort of stretch and become more comfortable. After realising that they were not getting any better she put them aside and revert to her other sunglasses. A year later I realised the she was not wearing them due to the problem so I went with her to the store with this complaint. We were turned back and told that we waited too long. Granted, we took them and went back home. My issue now is, i have tried to sell these glasses now on and off for the past 2 years...Everyone who tries them on, has the same complain with them, my wife is a petite person and including the people who have tried these on that we tried to sell to. I'm alluding to the fact that I am now convinced there is a design flaw with these glasses and i've compared them with other designer shades. The shape will not fit anyone without squeezing the back of the ear. I'm especially disappointed in the fact that this is an internationally acclaimed designer brand. This is just so disheartening and we need to find a resolution for this.

I bought a belt at burberry in Sandton last year . Beginning of this year the belt buckle was broken. I returned the belt to burberry in April this year. When I left the belt i was asked when I bought the belt and if I had a receipt. I said i don't remember exact date but it was last year either in January or june because thats when i remembered buying anything from them. They did not insist on a receipt but that I must tell them which month because they can check on their invoices and log a damage report. When I asked them about why they ask your details when you buy and should they not have a list of items bought under your name and when they said they did not. I waited for them to check and get back to me nothing happened. A month later i called and asked what was happening I was told they were waiting for me to bring a receipt. I then found two receipts from them and called them and told them the contents and they said they will log the damage report which should take 2 months to get a reply i then waited. I continued calling for an update and was told to wait. Two months ended and I did not hear from them when I called I was told that my belt request was declined because time for warranty had expired. I asked which time they said because they did not have a receipt they had put April on the damage report and it was now june. When i questioned this and where april came from no one could answer this. I was then told that what they could do was fix the belt at my expense. I said if that is the case then I will pick my belt and fix it myself. They then said no the manager has made an exception and they will fix it at their expense. I asked the time frame for this because by now it was the 5 th of Julyand I had already so long for this issue to be resolved, they said it took a week to fix damages. On the 8 July I sent an email to them requesting the specific date for the return of the belt and that email was not replied. A week later i had not heard from them so I called and left messages which were not returned by the lady dealing with this matter. On the 16 of july I decided to go to the store after several attempts to get hold of this lady and I asked to speak to a manager and understand what is going on. She told me that they sent the belt to levingers and they were told they did not have a ***** for the belt and they were now waiting to send it to other place for repairs. I asked why have i not been informed of this and why my calls were not returned no one could answer except they were sorry. I then said why they are more than happy to sell their expensive branded items but are not willing to service them after the sale. The assistant manager to me that they are a franchise store and don't have access to Burberry international for after sales service so they try and repair products themselves after the sale if they can't then tough luck. I asked why are customers not informed about this at the point of sale so they know that their expensive item is worth nothing after i was told that is how it is.

On 16/06/16 I bought a Burberry jacket from the Burberry in Hyde Park, Firstly they forgot to remove the security so I had to travel back to Hyde Park from Boksburg for them to remove it. Due to me traveling overseas(Which I have the plane ticket to prove) Which the jacket stayed in my wardrobe. Upon returning, I saw that the jacket has a scratch and what looked like it was filled with polish, I went back to the store on 13/08/16 to show this, the lady who received the jacket from me said that she can see that jacket hasn't been worn. I then got a call from the Manager( Emily) 17/08/16 who told me that she contacted head office and because It was after 7 days they can't do anything about it( Working in the retail industry I am fully aware of the 7 day return policy but I don't expect such poor quality from Burberry and feel something should be done about this). The manager went on to say that they can't help me even when I asked if they could repair it. I asked if she she could please find out what they can do to resolve this issue. To date I still have not heard from the manager with regards to this issue. I feel that the store should check the products properly for damage on clothing, The Jacket only had a Barcoded sticker(No Product tags). I would really like to get this resolved.

I have a belt which is broken, which belongs to a Jacket which was bought from Burberry. I went in to ask if she could send it in for repairs and she asked that I should bring a picture of the Jacket. The jacket is in Johannesburg. Do I now have to fly to Johannesburg, to take a picture of the Jacket. The jacket is not the item which needs repairing, so why then does she need a picture of the jacket. I will gladly go to Jo'burg take as many pictures of the Jacket that she wants if she will pay for my flight ticket, my Uber ride from the airport to Sandton and back and also pay for my time. I find this behavior so unprofessional and totally unnecessary. Their products are supposed to be so good that they are guaranteed not to brake and are valid for life, well at least they are so expensive that they should be.

My friends and I came to the Waterfront after a day out. Walking past the store (Burberry) and went inside. We were having a look around and my boyfriend wanted to buy a shirt when the consultant entered and asked if she could help with a major stink attitude. We just left because the negative energy just entered the room. If she was having a bad day she shouldn't take it out on her clients. I will never go to that store again. That girl also needs to get another job where she can learn to smile. Terrible service and a disgusting attitude.
