This place sold us OVERGRADED diamonds in my fiances R117k engagement ring and won't refund us. The diamond was supposed to be a SI1 according to their valuation certificate that states they graded it in house, until we got it evaluated at a proper, we then found out it's actually an extremely poor Low I1. After we reported this, they quickly said they didn't grade it we just copied the grading from the supplier. We've been fighting with them for 8 months and they won't budge. Not only that, the ring was so poorly designed that the big diamond was loose in 2 days of wearing it. None of the diamonds are straight and the white gold went yellow in 2 weeks. This place sells extremely poor quality jewelry at a hefty price and on top of it the diamonds are not what they say they are. Shop elsewhere in East London if you want better jewelry.

This is for the Vincent Park store. On the 22/04/2025 I paid for a ceramic strap for my Fossil watch that broke 2 years ago. I was assisted by Nicole who gave me a turn around time of 6-8 weeks. I didn't mind because it was already 2 years since I wore my watch. Did she not perform miracles and got me my strap in less than 2 weeks! To say I am impressed is an understatement! Oh and did I mention how super friendly she is! Please Nicole never lose your warmth. Thank you for under promising and over delivering!

My daughter and her fiance, Caleb, were sold a ring that was too big for Caleb on the day of the wedding. It was a sudden rushed purchase as the wedding was on the same day. They were assured that it could be re-size , as who would pay R10K for a ring that didn't fit and couldn't be re-sized ? After taking this ring to 2 x different jewellers in USA, being embarrased, and being told that it can't be re sized. This is the ring that was blessed by the Bishop on their special day. When he came back to EL a week ago, they took the ring back to the jeweller. The saleslady now confirmed at was a hollow ring and even they cannot re-size it. She did not tell them this info when they bought the ring, the owner disputes this ! We have requested a re-fund for this ring, but were offered the opportunity to pay in an extra R1900 for a new ring to be produced. We have been up and down to the mall, requesting a refund as we always thought we were dealing with one of the best, respectable, trusted jewellers of many years in EL.

Asked to have a custom ring made from my mother’s old wedding ring (14ct gold). Was told that some gold is lost in the melting process so I won’t be getting any leftover gold back which I agreed to.After picking the ring up and being disappointed with how all the diamonds had been set and the fact that it was the wrong thickness, I took the ring back a few weeks later as I only noticed then it had been stamped 9ct. Then a different sales person told me that they don’t actually melt rings anymore and the gold is new. They insisted it was a workshop error and had the ring re-stamped 14ct. But didn’t provide any proof, any evaluation certificate or anything. Today my wife sends me a photo that the diamonds have started falling out. So now thanks to Dennis Collins, I have lost my moms original gold from her ring, as well as her main diamond which fell out of my wife’s new ring. I wouldn’t trust these people with anything ever again and am extremely angry at the whole ordeal.

Outstanding service received at Dennis Collins in Hemmingways, East London. From the moment myself and my fiance walked into the doors we were treated not as customers but as family. Big up to Nigel for manufacturing an engagement ring that has by far exceeded our expectations and turned a dream/idea into a reality. Phenomenal service and would highly recommend.

Read my post from 15 March 2020. It's a follow up. Guess what I still haven't received my ring back from Dennis Collins East London. 4 months now. I wonder if they still have it? Unprofessional Company and unethical!! I am furious!

I went to Dennis Collins on Valentinesday requesting a diamond to be replaced by another stone in a ring of mine. Diamond without labour R9500. It is a low quality diamond, but I wanted to go for size because of the specific space what was currently in the ring. Very friendly lady and her manager Rhianna helped me very efficiently. Giving me a written quote, the sales lady was thoroughly checked by her manager on the computer l. 2 Weeks went by and I received a call. They found a diamond for me R22000. I said no I would like one for the quoted price. They said they will look further. Heard nothing for a week. I called again. They would find out and call me back. The owner called the following day. Said the lady that quoted me is no longer working there. He said they made a giant mistake the dimensions for the diamond is 1.15ct diamond and cost in excess of R77000. I do know alot about Jewellery being friends with two. That's why I chose a low grade bigger diamond with 4 specific C's. We all checked the dimensions on the chart Dennis Collins staff gave me and verified it on the internet while being there. He continued saying the dimensions will be too deep and cut my finger and won't fit, spoke alot of bull. I could hear he wanted to bull... Me. While I was talking to him searched the dimensions again it showed 6 x 4mm radiant cut diamond is 0.5ct. He said it is a mistake. I said I am looking at it on the internet. Then all of a sudden he said let me he humor you a diamond of them size is R14000. I wondered then what happened about the R77000. I asked him to please send my ring back. Obviously no one of the management knows what they are doing clearly. And that I will leave a review on Hello Peter And Facebook for him. He said its fine I am welcome. There is no control in that business I will stay very far from all branches if that is an owner that acts this uninformed and dishonest. While I was there Rhianna the manager told the sales lady "we" dont usually write down the exact price on a quote. I was wondering what is going on. Of course if they find one for 5.5 x 3.7mm for a little less of little bit bigger for more that fits the space then I would understand. Now firing the girl because she wrote a price down. I saw the price that she gave me on the computer now he wants to ask R77000 and when I caught him out Of his dishonesty. All of a sudden R14000. They are not trustworthy and I won't trust them with my valuable Jewellery and money. Clients are more I formed than you think!! Not all are ready to be defrauded.
