Absolutely disgustingly appalling customer service from Dermalogica! A brand that I have supported for the past two years and spend countless hard earned rands on! I called the customer service line to discuss a return on a face wash that has been going black and rancid. I spoke to Octavia in the operational customer service department and after explaining the full information to her, including the purchase date and product, I was instructed to go to the flagship store to return it and that the consultants would assist me there. I purchased this from Tygervalley and was told that it would be appropriate to go to Cavendish as this was closer to home for me currently. At that stage, I confirmed that was appropriate as I have had difficult experiences there before with poor service and was questioning whether that would be the case again. I was proven to be correct. After arriving at the store, and I called in advance to inform them I’d be arriving and was instructed to do so by the operations management team, the consultant on duty, Naomi, was rude, dismissive, unhelpful and very, very disrespectful. She requested a slip, which I have on email as I purchased this in Tygervalley. She did not even look at it and proceeded to tell me she could not return or exchange it even after I was told to go to the store in person. She said she doesn’t have authorisation. Why was I told to go in store if this was the case all along? I was sent here by Octavia. After providing all the relevant information, she was dismissive and asked who I had spoken to as if I was not telling the truth. She proceeded to mention that she is not aware of an Octavia and that she doesn’t think she works at Dermalogica anymore. I had literally spoken to her HOURS before that and the consultant dismissed that too. She was smirking, quite happy to be unhelpful, and rude. I told her I’d phone customer service back - which I did, and went through to Rolf, who proceeded to inform me he would speak to a manager to get authorisation after explaining the situation - he agreed to call me back. Now I have no waited 30-40 minutes, I proceeded back to the store and called Rolf again after not hearing back, he told me that a manager needs to call the store and that it would happen shortly. I continued to wait in store while the consultant questioned me as if I was lying, and I again showed her the proof I purchased it. Dermalogica products should last at least 12 months when stored properly - according to the website and information. This product did not last that time, yet, they recommend you purchase the bigger one as it lasts longer. However, the consultants in that EXACT store suggested an additional 2 cleanser products to my routine months before which I purchased to add to my routine based on recommendations from them. This is why things last - not because of any other reason. I stored it properly and I can prove that. For what you pay, and the service you receive, this is absolutely outrageous. After all the effort and waiting, the second manager phoned the store, Larissa, and the consultant literally walked outside of the store and left me completely unattended so she could have a private conversation. Prior to this, the phone rang after many attempts for me to connect the people at customer service with Naomi, and she had been waiting for the call and then proceeded to ignore the call as it came in due to the customer in front of her. With a smirk on her face, she declined the call and I had to AGAIN phone customer service to speak to Rolf at which point he then saw she was then trying to call him. Disgusting service for products you pay an absolute fortune to buy and for them not to even last the expiration period is absolute insanity. After all this, I am NEVER going to recommend anyone to the Cavendish store and I expect to hear from customer service and the managers in question for wasting my time on this awful experience!! Rolf was kind and helpful, totally unacceptable that he is the only one who was willing to assist. Customers do NOT come first!!

Worst Experience Of My Life In October 2025 I visited woolworths skin division and purchased the Dermalogica Kit to try on my skin. My skin began getting sensitive with small ****les to which i was told was part of the process with the products. In November 2025 I was recommended more products because my skin kept on flaring. In January 2026 my skin became extremely red, I now have severe hives, my skin bleeds ,I have ****les in facial areas that I never had before, my ****les are huge and filled with white matter. It has been almost a month since I stopped the products but my skin is worse every day! I do not recommend this product! I returned the products and got a refund for my second purchase (skin care assistant understanding) BUT NOT EVEN A REFUND is worth the pain, sensitivity and scaring that this product has left. I am still going on and it gets worse every day! Horrible!

I purchased R3000+ worth of products online which came with a free gift with purchase. Dermalogica advertises on their website that there are free samples with every order. I didnt received my samples with my order so complained. I was told that the free gift with purchase REPLACES the samples that come with every order. I think this is really stupid and missing a marketing opportunity. I was told now that if I want samples I need to drive to my nearest store and ask for some - my issue with this is that the stores either dont have samples of stuff - particularly new products - and they are super stingy and dont want to give the samples out. For this reason, I will probably order from another website from now on. I love my samples - gives one a chance to try something new and decide if its worth buying the product.

I recently purchased a 500ml Dermalogica facial cleanser from Woolworths Eastgate for R1000. The product is supposed to have a lifespan of 12 months, but after just 9 months of usage, I found that it had developed an extremely foul, sickening smell, despite being less than halfway used. When I returned to Woolworths Eastgate to address this issue, I was met with unsatisfactory service. The manager, who identified herself as Olivia P. (without providing her surname), called me regarding my request for a refund. She informed me that they would not be refunding me, even though she acknowledged that the product was still within the 12-month lifespan and had a foul smell. The manner in which this communication was handled was quite arrogant and dismissive. Despite providing clear evidence that the product was defective, Olivia P. refused to accept responsibility or process a refund. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the service I received and the lack of accountability from both Dermalogica and Woolworths. I expected much better, especially given the price point of the product. Terrible experience

I went to Dermalogica Clearwater on the 5th of January 2025 for treatment that costed me R4098. Instead of being better, I am worsening. My face is burning and darkening, the rash bleeds and it is very itchy. The rash isn’t just on my face even on my neck too. I even had to go consult a GP who then urgently referred me to a Dermatologist. Which is yet another cost, I don’t want anything to do with Dermalogica the products ruined my skin even more.

I visited Dermalogica in Somerset Mall for a Brow wax today and I was deeply disappointed with the results. I left with brows that had no shape and bald patches on random spots . It’s either the the****** is inexperienced or not qualified for the job but I paid for a service not a practical and especially not on my brows. It’s totally unacceptable and unprofessional. The room we were in hardly had any light , how does a the****** even perform a brow wax in a dimmed room . The manager should definitely work on training his/her staff to deliver an excellent service , employ more staff so that one the****** isn’t responsible for a treatment and holding the fort at. I definitely won’t recommend anyone !
