Be very wary of doing any business with Duma Travel: we have several outstanding invoices with them dating as far back as January 2018 and while they have conceded to being in financial difficulty they refuse to agree on any payment plan and ignore any attempts to obtain payment. If you are planning to do business with them I would suggest you insist on upfront payment - or walk away.

Rating this company one should be considered a compliment for them. Their service is pathetic and that me just be fair. Reason, a flight was booked through them, however the final seats was not, thus being stranded abroad. The person in charge of the "emergency" number is pathetic and at one point decided to switch her phone off. BTW her name is "Juanita" - the number you get when the voicemail plays after calling switchboard. I advise any person to stay as far away from this company as possible. This will save you time, and hassle. I've dealt with a lot of incompetent and ignorant people, but this one takes the cake. I advise them to go and read up the responsibilities of a travel agent. You can find it here if you don't know what I am talking about: https://www.totaljobs.com/careers-advice/job-profile/travel-leisure-jobs/travel-agent-job-description. Going on complaining any further will just **** me off more. It's best to skip this company... P's looking through the other reviews, poor customer services seems to be your speciality

To whom it may concern and hopefully avoid some other companies/clients to make the same mistake. Duma Travel Owes us an outstanding amount of R60,275.00 since 2016. This amount includes payments outstanding for accommodation, meals and a conference that was held in December 2016. We have been struggling now since then with a lot of telephone calls, e-mails etc to get this money from them for these services supplied. I have been dealing with a lot of different people during this time and nobody have been able to assist, they either do not answer back your calls/e-mails or they just never around. The previous finance team who I understand was retrenched made a commitment to us to pay an amount of R10,000.00 weekly starting from the 1st week in February 2018 until the account was settled in full. We only received the 1st R10,000.00 at the end of March 2018 and that was it. The new/current finance team now wants to offer another payment plan which entails R10,000.00 to be paid every 2 weeks starting from the 29th of June 2018 until settled in full. We asked that we receive a proper payment arrangement on a letterhead that entails the different dates when payment will be made and finally received it a week after but it was done in such an unprofessional manner that I do not understand how they can still do business with other companies. We have been giving this people more than enough time to settle this account and enough is enough! So while we are patiently awaiting for the 1st payment of R10,000.00 on the 29th of June 2018 we thought of dealing our experience and hopefully will help any company thinking of using them.

Where do I begin.......We have invoices outstanding since 2016. I have phoned them so often I know the numbers and extentions without even looking it up. I phone everyday and everyday it is the same old story - funds have not been allocated. We are a small hotel and cannot carry this debt. Please could Duma Travel just pay us. Thanks

We at Hemingways Guest House, KWT, have been dealing with Duma for some time. They stopped paying us from March 2017. Their outstanding account with us now amounts to R25,430.00. We called and our query was just passed on to the next and the next and the next until the last person just disconnected our call. Previous to this we were told to resend statements and invoices which were done on 05/04/2017, 19/04/2017, 20/04/2017, etc. and the last on 02/10/2017. We are now unable to get through on their telephone lines i.e. 0860 111 667 and ********** . I am sorry to say to all Guest Houses and other establishments used by them, think twice before accepting vouchers from Duma Travel.

It is really a great embarresment for me to write this report on Hello Peter as it is not in my nature to report people but I feel helpless and have tried my utmost best to get payment that is legally due to me. We have deliver a great service to the client and therefor deserve to get payment. I received 2 bookings for the same guest on 2 different dates during August 2017. Since then I have submitted my Invoices and Statements on several occasions. Endless telephone calls requesting payment, even submitting a Bank letter to confirm my account number and still no payment. Two weeks ago, I was informed that Duma Travel has financial problems and can't pay me. This statement was made by Vanessa Nkosi who are handling the Bed and Breakfast side of payments. Not only did she say that Duma has no money but she also said she has no time to speak to me, as she is busy. She referred me to Celia Herbst. She was blatantly rude. I then spoke to Celia and she said that she will request an urgent payment and that I would have receive my outstanding payment not later than Friday 24 November 2017. Friday came and gone and no payment was received. The Tuesday I phoned Vanessa and she again said no payment was allocated. Each and every time I phoned she ask me if I have submitted a Statement. Not sure how many times I told her that I did send the Invoices, the Statement as well as a bank letter. She could not be bothered to find out what the delay was. She kept on saying speak to Celia. I tried to phone Celia she was not available. I have tried several times since then and either she is not at her desk or she is in training. Nobody can tell me when she will be available. No emails or calls get returned. I have even send an email to procurement but nothing has happened. I have emailed from bottom to top even the MD - who are only to be contacted as a last resort only nl. Nomvula Mthombeni as well as Tumi Namanyane who is the Finance Manager at Head office but non one of them have contacted me or answered my email. Surely if you listen to the answering machine on Duma's telephone about how efficient they are and all the promises, and you look at the email that was send to me via email on the 28th of September 2016 at 01:17 Heading IN THE LOOP MESSAGE FROM THE CEO you will be shocked of what is promised and what service is actually delivered. Even on Facebook you can read the bad comments about how people must beg for their money. I am at a stage where I feel bad to beg for my money and it is not fair at all.

Duma Travel are bad, bad payers!!! No one, I mean no one, not even the managers answer their phones!!!! For 6 months now I have been battling to get paid - Phutla informs me she has no funds to pay. Amanda tells me they are aware of the bad reviews they get, Tumi promises to call me back - she never does and apparantly she is never in the office. Rudo, whom I was told is one of the senior managers, ignores my requests for payment.

Duma Travel vouchers are worthless - so be careful before you accept it.
