Unprofessional Conduct and Outstanding Refund – ERA Northriding
I am extremely disappointed with the way this matter has been handled by Shirley Diamond from ERA Northriding. I app**** for an apartment on 21 January 2025 and received confirmation on 23 January that the apartment had been allocated to me. Unfortunately, on the very day I was supposed to make the payment, I was hospitalised and was only discharged on 3 February. I immediately informed Shirley of the situation and explained that due to medical expenses I would not be able to pay the full deposit immediately. I gave two options: I was willing to either relinquish the apartment or pay everything on 23 February. On 6 February, Shirley contacted me and said that if I paid R1000 for a credit check and admin fee, she would hold the apartment for me since I had committed to paying on 23 February. Acting in good faith, I proceeded to make payment and sent R2000. However, on 16 February, I received an email from Shirley informing me that she had already found another tenant for the apartment. She then advised that she would refund me R1000. Since then, I have been constantly chasing this refund, and despite multiple follow-ups and being told the payment is being handled, I have still not received the R1000 refund. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating. I acted in good faith, communicated transparently during a medical emergency, and honoured the requests made to me. The least that should happen is that the promised refund is processed promptly. I would appreciate ERA Northriding resolving this matter urgently and ensuring that the outstanding R1000 refund is paid immediately. I hope this review leads to accountability and a swift resolution.

Outstanding service
Rented a flat in Blanco George. Not the best experience, until Yolande Bruwer became the rental agent. What an amazing human being. She was considerate, professional, extremely helpful and accommodating. I hope her efforts are recognised and rewarded!

Outstanding service

Unprofessional and rude - ERA Northriding
<div>I am still trying to understand exactly what happened in this process with Shirley at ERA in Northriding. My mom viewed a place on Monday this week and Shirley sent me the application, I responded to ask for the cost breakdown (which she found irritating and repeatedly kept saying the house is in high demand and she won't keep it for us.) I then filled the application in on Tuesday, she then sent me the lease on Wednesday. The lease has a few clauses that I do not like, i.e - the house must be available for 2 Sundays a month for show house and they landlord can cancel with 2 months notice from the start of the contract. We are moving my mom from Broadacres so we need to know she will be secure there for at least 6 months +. She came back to say I am welcome to ask questions but then when I did, she did not answer my calls, did not respond to my email and said she was opening the applications up to other people. She has made me feel crazy for asking completely normal questions and her urgency to get me to sign without reading the terms properly screams red flags. I do not recommend ERA and Shirley to anyone who cares to review a contract before signing.</div>

Agent - Professor Dlamini of Newcastle- Nonsense of service
**** of service provided by Mr Professor Dlamini of Newcastle. I informed i will be moving in weekend of 28 November, now agent is no where yo be found, refuses to issue me with a remote to enter and occupy property. Im left to fend myself, not taking calls anymore.

Horrible Client Service
Honestly the worst Agency possible !!! I app**** for a property, got approved, and then they sent me the contract. I asked questions about the contract asked and they said it’s not applicable to me i asked if they can then take it out and they said no. Long story short the agent then said “i think you should get a different property, this is not going to work” I left 3 other properties because i got approved with this one. I then decided to go to the Manager and was on the phone with her for 30 min. Yes she explained some things to me. but yet again this is terrible !!! Did not solve my problem or anything. This is the agency in Lynnwood !

ERA Real Estate Pretoria East Branch Owner's Disgusting Behavior
I enquired about a property in Highveld, Centurion with an agent from ERA PTA East. This was the worst treatment i have ever received from an agent. I firstly enquired on a Saturday morning to try and book a viewing for the same weekend. The Owner of the branch, tells me that she only allows viewings to happen 3 only in 3 day prior booking. She sent me a list of questions to answered and she reacted with a thumbs up. Monday arrives and I contact her to confirm my appointment booking. She leaves me a message reading " I am not in PTA at the moment, I'm in CPT for my sons graduation, the viewing appointment will be on the upcoming Friday. I tried to ask if there was perhaps anyone else in the company that could assist with viewings while she was away, she copied and pasted the message where she said she is not in PTA... I waited all week for her to return, and upon return, I asked my wife to handle the viewing since i would be at work and we urgently need a new place. She gave my wife long stories about how the apartment still needs to be renovated, then at the end she finds out that we have a pitbull. She lashed out on my wife telling her we wasted her time and that my wife has no idea how much it is to pour petrol in a Mercedes Benz. She then texts me and start lashing out on me for wasting her time. 1stly the apartment listing does not mention in the Adverti*****t that there are "X" type of pets that are not allowed. secondly, she Is very rude, immature, unprofessional and she thinks the world revolves around her. Very disgusting behavior coming from a person who makes a living of dealing with clients
