Our experience at Fireroom Sushi and Grill in Zimbali was extremely disappointing. Although our team had made a booking well in advance, the service we received upon arrival was far below expected standards. The staff appeared disorganized and confused, resulting in multiple errors with our orders. I did not receive the meal I had requested, and overall service lacked coordination and attention. Due to the poor experience, we were ultimately forced to relocate to a second venue. This was highly inconvenient and reflected negatively on what was meant to be an enjoyable outing.

I write this email to express my disappointment in Zimbali Fire Room. On the 27 December 2024 we had booked for my mother-in-law's birthday after a hard year of her being ill and then losing her partner we had decided to spoil her. Below are my points of our experience note I have been to the restaurant before and so has my Brother-in-law and his partner so we definitely know what to expect. 1. We had a reservation for 6.30pm which we arrived at the gate only to be told we need to phone Fireroom for a code to enter. Already so unprofessional yet we had booked. We then had to park aside phoned and waited for a code before entering 2. Upon arrival at the restaurant we was then asked to take a seat only for a 2nd person to say our table was ready and why are we seated. He then took us to the outside deck and got us seated 3. We placed our orders not long after being seated as we had looked at the menu on the net so we had an idea of what we wanted only to wait over 2hrs for our meals. 4. Before our meals could arrive I had asked the waiter to turn off the fan that was hitting directly to us as we didn't want to get our food and having the fan on making the food cold - the waiter then responded that no one is allowed to switch the fan off 5. My Brother-in-law had asked for sauces to our surprise we was not explained by the waiter that the sauces was charged for until we got the bill and had a shock we was charged R42 per a sauce. 6. When we was almost done with our meals which turned out to be cold, families that was on the deck as well had asked for the fans to be put off and the fans was switched off - so why be biased to us when we requested? Are we paying a discounted rate? Why treat us differently? 7. On previous birthday occasions we received a plate that says Happy Birthday and a side ice cream but here again to our disappointment we just received a plate that said Happy Birthday and nothing else. 8. My Brother-in-law had complained immediately to the manager on duty which then took my number down to give us a call. A week later no response. I called 5/01 and was told the manager will get back to me. Called the 8/01 again due to no feedback which I managed to talk to the manager and he was going to investigate and get back to me. I received calls on the 9/01 and 13/01 which I was offered a 50% off which I declined as I paid close to R2500 on terrible service and the restaurant wants me to pay again for such service. I was promised that he will chat to his supervisor and get back to me on another off. Till this date no response It's over 2 months later and the managers of this branch clearly does not care about unhappy clients.

Absolutely disappointed. Took my wife here last night the 21/11/2023 on her birthday. The dim sum starters where slimy, peri peri livers where inedible, so spicy as if we were eating a chilli paste. I ordered the chicken schnitzel as the main and it has no salt or seasonings. I have photos of the meals; bland to say the least. The wife ordered the braai style sushi which made her sick the entire night. I will be uploading pictures to social media. I thought this was supposed to be fine dinning yet the presentation looks like it came out of a road side food truck. My wife ordered 2 ****tail drinks and it was served in a below average glass. Nothing fancy or classy about this venue. Will never be recommending this restaurant to anybody. Really disappointed that we had to spend my wife's birthday in this manner. Escalations have been sent to the FIREROOM management

Been to this restaurant so many times. Since just Villa Bianca to Wasabi to merging with FireRoom and knowing it's all a family business. We took my daughter for her 16th birthday as she loves the sushi. From the time we walked in, a table of 8 booked. From the attitude from the door that we had to place food orders before we even basically sat. We got the worst attitude from any establishment we have ever been to... To make us the clients feel like we are inconveniencing them to order food and pay high ended prices for below substandard attitude. It was beyond disappointing to see such a good once name restaurant have no manager available and staff willing to treat paying clients with complete disrespect and attitude. We paid our bill in 15 mins and left. Restaurant has gone way down below the gutters with staff like that. Will never after 7 years of enjoying that restaurant ever go there again. And so never recommend to anyone. This is all due to terrible terrible staff attitude and lack of courtesy of us as clients.

I did a booking on the 20 March 2023 via Dineplan and received a reminder the day before, 29 April 2023 to confirm my booking for the 30 April 2023 and received Booking Reference:1yv5z. I did not know this was not the code to get into the restaurant and was very arrogantly told by the guard at the gate when I arrived at 12.50pm, a 6-digit code is needed, and I need to phone the restaurant. I made 25 calls to your number – 0325385020, which went unanswered. My husband made a further 10 calls and still no answer. I then called the Capital Hotel 8 times and each time the receptionist did not listen to me when I said the phone is not being answered at Fireroom - Zimbali and we are waiting at the gate, which went to 13:30pm. A 40-minute wait outside a gate to get into a venue, when a confirmed booking was done over a month ago questions how one is treated and with the current economy of our country business is being turned away. I did receive the code at 13:39pm via what’s app from the number 072 254 1988, which was a waste of my time and driven over 60 kms to celebrate my birthday and then not get in is very unprofessional. Someone tried to call me at 2pm from this number – 0325385020, so the famous excuse on social media this line being down is the reason the calls are not answered is utter disrespect. Going through the reviews on social media clearly made no difference to Fireroom – Zimbali on how bookings are done, as too many people had the same issue and this still continues.
