The worst company to do business with. Or shall we put it... WAS the worst group of Spars regarding ethical business. Gave the overall Spar name a real bad name. Good employees yet rotten top management.

A cashier named Ntombenhle @ Fontana SPAR Berea gave me the worst service ever for merely asking for a cash back while paying for my groceries. She went as far as walking away and returning back without her name tag to continue arguing with me . She claimed to have no cash in her till and told me to go queue again on another till instead of asking from her other colleagues to assist as usual. The level of service was shocking as she went as far as making a noise in front of other customers instead of immediately apologizing and finding a solution she rather said I’m full of ****.

Fontana Holdings owe me R16,000 and refuse to give me back my money. Fontana deducted R2175.00 a month for 8 months from my payslip as a down payment on a R55,000 loan (R175 for insurance) to buy a Harley Davidson from the company. However after i found out (5 months later) that i was having a little bun in the oven. I had to return the Harley and keys to Fontana, however when i asked that Fontana reimburse me, i was told that they are not going to pay me back as for the money is now considered a "Rental Fee" for the period of 8 months. I asked Fontana to reimburse me R13,000 of the R16,000 and consider the maintenance (New Battery R1600.00 and New clutch Lever R350.00 and R3000.00 as a rental fee) if they still refused to pay me back. I now ask that they please send me me the Rental agreement (NOT THE LOAN AGREEMENT) that i have signed that allowed them to deduct R2175.00 from my Payslip/salary for 8 months as for my next visit will be the Police station opening a case of theft against the company.

Went shopping at Square Spar Rustenburg for a few items and ended up to twist my knee on wet floor they are busy washing without any signs and after the staff did not know were the manager is they got him 15min latter and his attitude was so what he will handle it

Fontana Kwikspar at Twist & Smit Street Hillbrow has been my shop since 1993. Yesterday, evening 28 October 2018. I had some items in my hand which i wanted to leave at parcel counter but the security officer buy the name of Mbongeni as his friend called him refused to take my items saying they do not have them in the shop so there is no need to leave them. But I asked him may I please leave them because I will not be able to do my shopping comfortably but he still refused. I met the store/floor manager at the door and I said to him, can ask, before i can finish my question and he said to me, sister move, move you are blocking other customers and after that he said what was the question, very rude. I passed and got into shop to buy. when I came out I told him I did not like his attitude and the way he treated. I further said Spar is my shop and his attitude is not going to stop me from coming. He told me that even I do not come he will still get paid and my complain or question about the security officer has nothing to do with him. I know the reason that I have been treated like this by the store manager, is because I will always make him aware of the expired products especially the dairy products, the products that are on promotion but not available, the products with prices especially the cheese products. We have been encountering these problems since he took over we never had any problem with previous manager. There is a huge difference between this store and the one in Highpoint. kindly further note that cash tills only the cashier can see the due amount after scanning the products and the customers cannot see, those things for the customers to see the due amount has been broken long ago. You have to ask the cashier, how much must I pay all the time.

A note from ex employees of Fontana Holdings. This employer is unethical in their dealings with their staff members. If you are offered a job - DO NOT ACCEPT IT. You will never know if you have a job the next day as they dismiss you for any little thing. No warnings JUST dismissal. Currently there are a few ex staff members taking them to the CCMA.

<p>My husband bought a dove rolon and a dove spray from superspar witfield square. Unfortunately he by accident purchased the wrong dove. I only use a certain one. He works quite late hours and very far from home(Olifantsfontein). We stay in Lambton germiston, so the closest spar to me was superspar fontana Lambton. I went to the store after work the next day with the slips and the products and asked if I may please just swop it for the correct one. The store manager (Michael) said he will quickly confirm. He phoned a lady on ( ********** ) the reception lady (Lydian) didn't think twice she just said no. After Im a well known cleint I alway buy from that spar, It wasn't even considered. What is more disappointing is the fact after I told him I'm going to hello peter and he phoned her aigain they still said no. What I can't understand is the fact that ALL spar's is a franchise and I'm a loyal customer, I support spar always I had to buy 2 rolons and 2 new dove sprays AGAIN, (not the cheapest brand) in order to get what I wanted. Yet after the support im still stuck with the ones I never use. My money is good enough but the service won't be given. The matter wasn't even considered. It was a blunt rude NO!!. Its not like I tampered with it or took a week to exchange, I didn't even want my money back, I just wanter another sent of dove. Im not a dodgy person I work hard and pay for what I want. It wouldnt have ****ed them to just help me after I supplied slips and the products. The service was extremely bad. And for a person that sometimes buy over a 1000 on one purchase R 32 wouldn't matter if a customer was really of importance. </p>
