I also received a call from this company a few minutes ago, and now I have just received a message that I have consented to request my credit report. I want to know how they get access to my Identity number. How is this even possible with the POPI Act? Their number is 0770969312.

I received a call from this company few minutes ago, now I have just received a message that I have consented to request for my credit report. I want to know how did they get access to my Identity number. They insisted that I have some debts, they want to assist but I refuse since I know that I don't have any. Their number is 0873714514

Today I got a call from these people, I told them lady I'm not interested in whatever she's selling. She said okay and dropped the call. 10 min later I get an sms saying I concented to a free debt review. I never concented to anything. How can these people do this? Where did they get my ID number?

The call agent and his manager claimed that Nedbank was ********ly charging customers an additional 20% interest on home loans and we were paying towards an instalment that never reduces because all we pay is inflated interest and that they were working to rectify this because the NCR picked up on this malpractice by Nedbank. They want to rectify it. They quoted our home loan instalment amount, which was slightly off — because I had received an email from Nedbank earlier that day reflecting a new amount due to extra payments we had made. They pressured us to give consent for debt restructuring, claiming it would reduce our monthly instalment from more than R1000 which was roughly 20% and that we would be refunded any overpayments. They had access to my wife’s ID number and our Nedbank home loan details, which is extremely concerning. When I asked for their names and company details, they refused to disclose this information and became confrontational. They insisted they were from the “finance department” and avoided giving the actual company name. I am formally requesting a full investigation into Freemi Debt Solutions, including their staff and management, for ********* and potentially *****ulent practices. I believe this is not an isolated incident, and I urge the NCR to review their conduct, registration status, and compliance with the National Credit Act. I am willing to provide all supporting documentation and cooperate fully with any investigation.

Poor communication. They only communicated with me to fulfil their selfish interest. After I had expressed disinterest and wanted to cancel because they deceived me, they ignored all my calls, emails and messages. The NCR is my best hope at this point.

I was ****med and misled into debt review on 25/07/2025. What was telephonically communicated to me was totally different from what the contract (which couldn’t be sent to me before giving my electronic signature) explained. I was told I’m being overcharged on interest and they can help me, presented themselves as a financial relief/assistance or budget services. Which was all a lie. I was put under debt review without my full informed consent. I tried all available channels to communicate with the debt counsellor Vivian Lionel Myers ID no: NCRDC3518 to inform her that I want to cancel the application because they deceive and all my emails and calls are being ignored, other cellphone numbers don’t even exist anymore. FREEMI DEBT SOLUTIONS IS A ****MER COMPANY. THE BUSINESS ADDRESS IS NOT EVEN VALID. What they did to me amounts to ***** and misrepresentation. The NCR must investigate and ******** charges must be laid.

Hi I received a call from Freemi agent on 29 July 2025 at around 09:10. I declined offered services however shortly after the call I received this notification via SMS: “ I, Tumelo Lesego Langa, ID *********6080, gave consent to request my credit report on 2025-07-29. Reason: Affordability Assessment. Freemi Debt Counsellors” I did not consent to anything let alone my credit record being shared. How did they even access my ID number?
