Ladies at reception has no real customer services even the manager on duty Make a booking online and they couldn't explain to me what's the meaning of a family room, they only provide breakfast for the adults and not the kids, so how can the adults eat and not the kids They couldn't find a solution for me, this is every unprofessional service

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY, awful service and awful accommodation the place run down with the toilet facilities were awful the toilet didn't flush properly and the water would overflow. There was load banging at night as well. I wount recommend this place to anyone and I want a refund.

I recently stayed at the Tropicana Hotel at South Beach, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The moment I walked in, I could tell the place was outdated—the furniture is old, worn out, and gives the entire hotel a neglected feel. The biggest issue, however, was cleanliness. The toilets were absolutely filthy, and it seemed like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. To make matters worse, there were huge ****roaches in the room, which made it nearly impossible to feel comfortable. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the food was terrible—bland, poorly prepared, and honestly, not even worth eating. I ended up eating elsewhere just to avoid it. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. For the price, you’re better off staying somewhere that actually values cleanliness and customer experience. Avoid this place at all costs!

I made a booking with a confirmation number 4845202078 during the month of June and paid R3800 deposit for or November 2024. Last week of August my mother in-law passed away and after the funeral the family choose a date of 30 November 2024 for cleansing and when the elders have decided no one can dispute a date and I called the hotel and asked them to change the date of my booking and was advised to cancel and make a new booking which I did and now they refuse to refund my R3800 and tell me that they are doing me a favour I should pay the full amount they don't make cancellations or change dates, by taking my R3800 is actually them waiving. On the 3rd September I got an email which said Gooderson Tropicana hotel has agreed to waive the cancellation fee on this occasion. You will not be charged for this cancellation. But now they are refusing to refund or change dates

Gooderson Tropicana hotel is refusing to refund a booking that is 2 months prior when we initially wanted to change our booking dates to accommodate a big group, we were told they don’t have availability and unfortunately we can’t change dates. They are refusing to refund us our money so we can secure a different hotel. I refuse to loose thousands when there’s still more time to cancel this booking.please assist

This is the second time having a nightmare experience with Tropicana hotel in Durban South Beach Branch. They always change terms on the last minute of service. I booked them for tomorrow's 16/03/2024 couples event, initially for about 50people. I communicated with Alicia to inform her that we can not make It to 50 because only 16 people have paid. This was two days ago and today I woke up to an email informing me that they have cancelled my booking because I have not paid deposit but they have my pop's and because from a package that I took the chef cannot cook for less than 30people which is not written anywhere from what they have sent to me. I have been using this hotel to host my event for several events with 120 max per event but the past two events was a disaster either they give you a conference room you did not choose or the chef cook whatever they want without communicating the menu with you and they will tell you it because you chose a chef choice package which is not stated anywhere....I am now waiting for a refund. They are very frustrating and Alicia always comes up with excuses not to meet the standard she promises when you first speak to her.

The entire staff was extremely friendly, everyone from the security, reception, porter, cleaners & waiters & waitresses in their restaurant. The whole team was super friendly, & because of their friendliness, we overlooked minor shortcomings such as their carpet that was not 100% clean in my room. However, that didn't bother me because of their care. I was with a toddler & a baby, all staff members were willing & ready to help & make things easier for us. Well done & keep up the good work.
