Growth Point manage a shopping mall in Cape Town (Bayside mall) Unfortunately I had a bad experience with the centre management where they refused to assist me when a mall tenant tired to commit *****. They refused to send security down to the tenant shop, until I said I would call SAPS. They maintain they cant give me the contact details of the owner of the shop, stating it was in contravention of the POPIA act, but insisted on taking my personal details. The incident was NOT logged in the centre management book, and the staff did not return several phone messages. Once they identify your number on their caller ID they dont answer your calls. So I went down there myself to ask for my details to be removed from the security guards book. They were organised and couldn't locate the security guard or his notebook. After I again threatened to call SAPS and called Growth Point in Johannesburg, their marketing person eventually gave me the cell number for the PA for the tenant's owner. Pathetic customer service to say the least !! What do you do in the case of real emergencies.

I am writing to formally raise a serious complaint against Growth Point Academy and one of their associated individuals, Lorraine Potgieter, regarding a gross violation of my rights as a father, and the unauthorized public exposure of my 2-year-old son. Growth Point Academy Details: Address: 96 McDonald’s Avenue, Fauna Park, Polokwane, 0699 Contact details: 084 413 9192 Email: nvanzyl133@gmail.com On the 11th of June 2025, a disturbing and unsolicited fundraising post was shared on social media by Lorraine Potgieter a staff member of Growth Point Academy. In this post, Lorraine falsely depicts my son’s mother as a “single mother” who receives no support, which is entirely untrue. The narrative constructed in the post is not only misleading but also defamatory toward me as a parent. Even more alarming is the fact that my son’s name, his photos, medical condition, and personal details were posted publicly without my knowledge or consent, alongside banking details belonging to Lorraine Potgieter — raising serious questions about potential *****, misrepresentation, and exploitation under the guise of charity. My parents visited the school to seek clarification and accountability, but were met with disrespect, a lack of remorse, and unprofessional conduct by Growth Point Academy. Let me be very clear: * No legal consent was given to use my son’s identity, story, or photos for any public campaign. * No fundraising efforts were discussed with or approved by me. * No donations should be made to any account claiming to support my son unless verified by both legal guardians. * The actions of the involved individuals may constitute unauthorized publication of a minor’s identity, defamation of character, and possible ***** under South African law. I am calling for: 1. An immediate legal investigation into this matter. 2. A formal apology from Growth Point Academy. 3. The removal of any false and defamatory posts regarding my son. 4. Legal accountability for the unauthorized fundraising under false pretenses. This review serves as public notice that legal advice has been sought, and I will not hesitate to pursue civil and ******** action should this violation of my son’s rights, and my parental integrity, continue to go unaddressed. The public deserves to know the kind of individuals Growth Point Academy associates with and protects. Parents, beware.

Shopping Mall Property Leasing Agency bias to National Retailers over small business/ Independent Retailers. This is so infair and sick they way they make us beg for space to trade. How are we supposed to survive the market. Malls have taken over the markets, its unsafe to trade in streets in these times. Why are they so hard on us. I get excuses we I try to lease space like 'Mall oversurated with fashion products or your credit rating not looking so good. But I am a registered small business and a Private Company...why does my own credit profilr matter which is not really bad at all! So biased disgusting to the growth of small businesses and entrepreneurship in this country. Property Mall Leasing Management Companies are just the arm of big businesses to stifle an keep out small businesses from growing in South Africa. We make our own products we have selling for years direct to consumers, but trying to lease a Mall shop is like hitting a brick wall?? Is there any Mall with a good mix of of national and small independent retailers in South Africa...No we just open Malls fill it up with Shoprite, Woolworths, Pick N Pay, Edgars, H& M, Cotton On, Zara, Starbucks or and never mind Ocean Mall created for the super rich with Prada, Gucci and Chanel etc! Or that Pakistan Cellphone Gadgets store or a China store in almost every Mall in KZN! Where are the Malls built for growing our economy, engaging and allowing local trade, innovation and products to flourish nothing at all!

I hope you are well. I am highly disappointed in the assistance I received on Friday 24 November 2023 at Lakeside Mall after my car was broken into. I understand that the mall has a policy where the customer who has been a victim of crime is not allowed to be shown the security camera’s till they have opened a case and the IO comes and requests the footage. This policy is truly not in the best interest of your customers, it is rather in the interest of the ********s. This gives them the opportunity to avoid law enforcement. I truly believe if the footage had been looked at when I reported the ********s who broke into my car could have been apprehended. I know for a fact that I was not the only victim on Friday and perhaps if the mall security not necessarily myself had looked at what happened to my car this could have prevented other customers from falling prey. Please find the attached document as to what happened on that day. The purpose of this email is not to get the mall to replace my lost belongings but rather to tell you that your policies are not in the interest of your customers but rather the ********s. At 16:30 I parked my car at the underground parking near entrance five. I got my handbag from the boot and ensured that all my doors were locked after locking. I went to fetch my little sister from Shoprite with the groceries and we went back to the car. We approached the car and as I opened the boot the alarm went off. We then loaded all the groceries inside the vehicle at this point all my contents including the laptop was still in the car. I locked my car and double checked that the boot and the doors are locked because the alarm had gone off when we initially got to the car. We then walked to Game Store. While at Game store I was not feeling well and told my little sister that we should leave the shop and head home. She went straight to the car and I went to the bathroom. When my little sister got to the car she unlocked the vehicle using the remote she then realized that the cover of the boot was not the way we had left it. She went to the boot, opened it and realized that the bag containing the lap to was not there. At this point it was 17:30. She gave me a call and I quickly rushed back. We had checked that the vehicle was locked before we left so we did not understand how they got in. We inspected my car and found that the driver’s side of the door had been tampered with. I have also inserted a video showing that the lock on my door no longer works. Mall security had been called and the car guard was also asked what happened. He says he did not see anything. The security refused for me to see the CCTV. I was told I can only see the footage after opening a case and the Investigating officer accompanies me. I opened a case at the Benoni Police Station

I am a British National. I have been discriminated against at a Growth Point Complex in New Germany. I am registered as one of the Directors of a company that trades with Classic Trading at 31 Lanner Rd, New Germany, Durban We have been trading with this company for years without incident. Today I was refused entry as they would not recognize my valid British Drivers License as a means of Identification at the security entrance. I was stopped by a guard named Eric. He took photos of my vehicle disc and asked for my license which I willingly provided. He said this is not acceptable. I explained I am a foreign national having converted my old South African Licence in 2001 to my UK Licence . This license is valid internationally and I have used this in USA, Europe and several Countries globally. He then wanted to to take a photo of me. I declined saying he is welcome to take photo of my Licence as its got my photo and contact details. I explained I am not comfortable with this. I referenced the POPI act and told him it is better to take a photo of my license. He became arrogant like a "prefect" with a new badge. I called his seniors at Easy Security and spoke to a manager name George Dube who also refused my entry. He then put the phone down on me, which upset me as I was being delayed. I thereafter called Classic Trading and notified them I was outside and I was being refused entry. A gentleman came out and tried to reason with the security staff in vain. Eventually the operations manager Mark Sprug from Easy Security drove up after 30mins of delays. He was equally arrogant and uncooperative, claiming it was their process. I explained I wrote Policies and Procedures for a Science college in UK and I am a retired Director of ICT for the college. I explained that taking photos on a insecure platform is unwelcome and the appropriate procedure would have been to take a photo of the Drivers License. The manager of Classic trading tried to reasons with Mr. Sparg who initially refused to give me his name and details. I notified them I was recording and he became defensive and refused to speak. He was aggrieved saying its private property. I explained I was outside the property on the verge. I explained why is it any different when he refused a photo of him and an recording, defeating the ends of justice. After a huge debate I decided to leave and explained to Classic Trading they have lost a huge customer. Mr. Sparg and Mr Dube cannot be forgiven as they are in senior management of Easy Security. I can appreciate for an ordinary security to misinterpret policies. The manager of Classic was not pleased and said he has a problem with the security company declining his customer access for business. I left and proceeded to another company and called other Directors of our company to notified them of my experience. An hour later a get a call from George Dube from Easy Security claiming the call dropped technically. I disagreed as if the call dropped he would have called me back immediately not an hour later! I explained myself and he related but said it was there process. I said it needs to change to stop discriminating against other nationalities. There is no doubt in my mind I have been discriminated on by virtue of Region. I reference CRE , South African Human Rights Commission and Hello Peter as my port of complaint. It is simple, had I had a South African drivers Licence I would have been allowed access to trade. Clearly I have been unfairly treated by Easy Security under the discrimatory policies and procedures of Growth Point. Aggrieved. Classic Wholesalers 31 Lanner Rd, New Germany, Durban. and refused entry to
