My 1st visit to this vet on Sandown Rd. So there's no mistakes it's Hakuna Metata in Sandown Rd. This is where I booked my 1st appointment to get my cat processed for immigration overseas. Let me tell you I have never received such bad service from all the staff at a vet. From no acknowledgment when I walked in the door from the 3 cold nochelante receptionists. Who then took care of a quick cat food sale from someone who walked in after me and still no hello to me or who are you? I kept staring at them holding my cat carrier as I had booked an appointment for 2 pm. The cat food client walks out and one of the receptionists looks at me and says..Mango? Which is my cats name... I nod yes and told to take a seat. Bearing in mind I had registered on their site the day before and called the Day before to make the appointmentat 2pm. The receptionist's talk under their breath as to where the Doctor is... a lot of whispering going on. And no communication with me at all. In that time Around 20 minutes later another lady comes in and distressed about her pet who is there. Young Vet comes out saying that they're doing blood tests on the premises and I hear it's something to do with her pets eating habits changing. So I'm finally acknowledged 35 mins later and asked into consultation room. Which then sha gets called out mid consultation and doesn't tell me to please put my cat in the carrier..just leaves me standing in the room with me holding my cat on the steel table wjis freaking out anyway, and that's it for another 15 mins. By this point I have had enough and put my cat back in the carrier and walk back to reception. Where I give a piece of my mind about their communication issues. It then transpires that the lady's pet has died all of a sudden. I pay for vaccine and Get out of there. The vet calls me after and says she noticed ******vitis in my cat mouth and suggested dental work..I say what does that entail and she says a full anesthesia dental operation. I'm sorry she hardly saw my cat after giving him the vaccine and being called out because last pet she was just blood testing had died and my cat is just there to get paperwork for immigration . Not for Dental work. I'm there for paperwork to take him overseas so what's with the upselling??

I had my first and second experience of taking an elderly dog to Hakuna Mata Vet. What a lovely experience! From the minute I walked in, both Diesel and I felt instantly welcome! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Super atmosphere and professional service. Lovely!

I thank you so much for assisting us with our sick Doggy at such short notice. Your care for him and my husband with the trauma was incredible. You really made a horrible situation bearable. We thank you from the James Family

I do not recommend this vet! They rush through consults to get to the next patient and kept treating recurring symptoms in my 2 year old littermates with no concern for the cause. I then changed vets who on the first consult did a blood smear and picked up Ehrlichia that they had been carrying their whole life that had now become critical. The best specialists and treatment couldn’t save them, we are devastated to have lost both our dogs in the last 3 weeks. I now regret not changing vets sooner when my pups were 6months old when they botched up my one pups neutering requiring him to be neutered twice!

Just want to say thank you to the Hakuna Matata team for thinking outside the box and doing their utmost to help my furbabies. I've taken my pets so vets in the past where you see no empathy whatsoever and get the impression its all about the money. Thankfully there are vets out there like Hakuna Matata where the priority is to HELP your pet and its not all about money

I am so disappointed in the service we received from this vet. I took our dog there as her leg was sore, more specifically under her arm where her leg joins her body. I explained to the vet what the problem is and that there is also something hard there. The vet claimed she had been kicked. I was stunned at the diagnosis. I told her that I do not think so as I work from home and I would have noticed. She then insisted on taking some x-rays. On the x-rays she did not find anything that was broken. She insisted that our dog was kicked, which is not true. I experienced the vet as cold and unwelcoming. A few days later our dog has not improved and we decided that we would like to take her for a second opinion. We requested the x-rays and after the exchange of a few emails we eventually received it. When we took our dog to another vet it was discovered that she had an abscess which has busrt in the mean time. Accordingvto this vet we brought her in just in time as it could have gone into her blood stream. There is also now a hole in her leg, which is being treated. At this stage we have to take her to the vet 2-3 times per week to get it cleaned. This whole situation could have been avoided if the first vet just listened to us and examined our dog thoroughly. Such a pity and caused unnecessary pain and discomfort for our dog.

I am so disappointed in this clinic, especially our experience with Kiki Schneider. From the moment we entered her consultation room, she was not very warm and welcome. I took our dog there as her one leg (where it joins her body) was sore. There was also something hard there as well. Kiki examined her and insisted that she was kicked. I was stunned at the diagnosis as I work from home and would be aware of such an incident. I told her that it cannot be true as I am at home the whole day. She insisted on taking x-rays. When I asked her why it is so hard under her arm, she could not answer me. She took my dog and gave me the blanket in a very rude way and told me that they have enough blankets there, I can take that one. She later phoned my husband and insisted that our dog was kicked, but the x-rays did not tell the same story. So it seemed that she did not explore other possibilities. I picked up my dog later and after a few days she was not getting better and I requested the x-rays as I wanted to take my dog to another vet. Kiki was hesitant to send the x-rays to us, but eventually after a few emails we received the x-rays. In the mean time our dog was getting worse and suddenly a yellow discharge came from her leg. We took our dog to another vet and told him about Kiki's diagnosis and he started to laugh. Our dog had an abscess that burst at that point and we were told that we brought her to the vet just in time. Now we still have to take her to the vet 3 times a week to get it cleaned and we were told that she may loose her leg due to this. This is a very sad case for us as we love our dogs, our son loves them and I feel that she suffered unnecessary due to an incorrect diagnosis, which we still do not know how Kiki got to. This afyer both myself and my husband told her repeatedly that we know she was not kicked. Kiki did offer a follow-up, but at that point all trust was broken and we cannot deal with someone who do not listen to is and are not willing to explore alternatives, until it is almost too late.

We took our dog to Dr Kiki Schneider as she had difficulty walking on her one front leg. And whenever we picked her up she area under the arm of her one front leg was saw. There also seemed to be something hard there. I told the vet about this. She kept on fiddling with her front leg and I kept on telling her that that is not the problem area. Eventually the vet listened and proceeded to the area that I referred to. Then she told me this dog has been kicked. I told her that could not be as she is in the house all day and I am working from home. She then kept on with this story and insisted that she takes x-rays as she wants to make sure that nothing is broken. Even though there was no indication that something was broken. Nothing was broken according to the x-rays, which we of course knew. She gave her pain meds and insisted that she has been kicked. By Wednesday it got even worse and some yelow stuff stated to come out from under the arm of her leg. We decided to take her for a second opinion as she could eventually not walk on the leg. I requested the x-rays, which she did not want to give to us, but after getting som advice feom our family lawyer and providing her with this advice, the x-rays was forwarded to us. The whole under her arm became larger and the yellow discharge more. We took her to another vet and he laughed at the diagnosis of Kiki Schreider. Our dog had an abscess which burstand it started to eat into her flesh. The vet also told us if we left it unattended for one more day, our dog would not have made it. With the correct treatment she is now doing well. I would really not advice anyone to take their pets to Hakuna Matata Vetenery clinic. This so-called doctor was arrogant, self righteous and she has the comoassion of troll.
